A few downtown Lake Worth Crimes

Comment Up

No one is talking about all of the crime in our city as an election issue.  Why not?

While I was picking up some merchandise this morning from a merchant on Lake Avenue, I was told that someone from PBSO came into his store and told him that our commission can cut the PBSO  budget.  No it can't unless it makes radical reductions. The LW Budget ($15,019,483.00) is set.  Palm Beach County, by a vote of that commission, sets the budget for the county.  Ric Bradshaw tells them what he wants and the county then negotiates. We need more boots on the ground (to stay in our city), not less.

No one in their right mind would reduce the number of deputies in Lake Worth and that would be about the only way we could reduce the cost. The mayor likes to tell everyone she has reduced the PBSO budget..it has only gone down 1.82% over the last four years, not anything to brag about. We just want to see them be more proactive. Prostitution stings are fun and games but let's patrol the rest of our streets. Let's enforce the laws on our books instead of making up new ones to kick the homeless off our public spaces as an example. Let's get some solutions that might work.

As I said before crime is UP in the city of Lake Worth. Most of it due to the blight we have in this city. We are providing a haven for the drug dealers and drug users. Our run down homes that are occupied by drug dealers that are owned by the city. They haven't decided what to do with them yet because the are in the Historical District. Preserve the historical homes. Well some of them can not be preserved and must be torn down. You can rebuild them in an historical way by design and make them habitable.
BUT I have just received a flyer paid for by the Committee to Protect Florida. It is so full of lies that I want to throw up. Maybe I will all over the trio for has backed this BS. In a sense they are calling not only those running for office (Jacques, McAlonan, Hartman and Antieau) liars they are call of the residents of Lake Worth who do not go along with their idea liars. When confronted they can not produce the materials to support their lies but WE can. This paper is totally despicable,(that is a term that Triolo likes to use about all of us who oppose her). They are the ones costing this city millions of dollars of your hard earned money. This is a crime against the people who love this city. Lies, Lies, and more lies.
Garbage can filler as far as I am concerned.

Just got the magazine. Wow. I didn't know those running for office against the incumbents were "Obstructionist Agitators" Where did they get that term from. The statement that they "spread misinformation, half-truths and distort the facts to thwart every attempt to either save City taxpayers money or to move the City forward and improve property values." (This had to have come from pam because some of the terminology is what she used in the letter to the seniors of our Mobile Home Park. The only people who are spending our tax money unwisely are the three incumbents. They have put us so far in debt we will never see the light and they will continue to do more harm if they get back into office. Citizens of Lake Worth Rise and take back your city. Do not re-elect these people who have nothing on their minds but their own personal EXPENSIVE projects. costing Millions of dollars. They have tunnel vision and are not seeing what we are seeing and they don't care.

A PBSO OFFICER ???? out threatening merchants ???? WTF??? A deputy? out campaigning for Pam Triolo, Andy Amoroso and Scott Maxwell? This is proof of the complete corruption in this town. Disgusting

Shades of when Cara Jennings threatened business owners if they didn't vote her way...
Happens on both sides unfortunately

That is NOT what happened. Scott Maxwell was holding a fundraiser at nature's Way and she protested against him as she believes he is a racist.
She did not threaten businesses.
BS is in full bloom.

The PBA spending money that's supposed to go to disabled officers and the family of dead cops on ugly mailers full of lies? Hudson Holdings spending $9000 to try and scare people. On duty cops basically trying to extort tax paying business owners? Sunshine law violations? Having fundraisers at the house of a child molester?

Not only do these things make me want to throw the incumbents out on their asses, but the fact that the challengers haven't sunk this low makes my respect for them rise even more.

Of course LW can cut PBSO's budget. The mayor and commissioners approve the contract with PBSO. With all the idiots putting PBSO signs in their windows, however, and people cheerleading PBSO on social media, it makes it hard to get a good deal for the city. We're paying too much for what we're getting. That's clear. Can we get Donald Trump in here to do a deal?? I'm tired of stupid leaders doing bad deals!

J street right near that awful nightclub that is involved in our elections. What pay to play does he want?

I just spoke to a neighbor who works for the Police Benevolent Association and they are getting a lot of flack about the contributions that the association made to the trio campaign. People are using obscene comments when they are asked to donate. Many have refused to donate to an organization that take the money away from the police and gives it to politicians. The police donate to and they deserve a lot better than this. Many are really pissed off and I would be too if I were a wife of a police officer, a family member or a police officer who is putting my life on the line to protect even the Trio. Do you guys have no morals at all? Hope you are happy.

IN ONE WEEK ALONE Lake Worth had 43 Arrests.
7 for drug sales/possession
5 for prostitution
7 for battery
6 for burglary/theft
4 for fraud
2 DUI
4 Suspended license
1 stalking
1 resisting an officer
3 out of state warrants
2 trespassing
1 property damage.
Total 43. Don't you think crime prevention should be one of our top priorities. I wouldn't want to move here or build a business here with these kind of stats.

43 arrests in the city of lake worth or does it include unincorporated too? May want to look at that number again.

When I first moved here a little over 10 years ago I wasn't so concerned and don't remember so much crime. Now it sure feels like it has become much worse both here and in West Palm. I can remember when it was surprising to hear about murder. Now it's almost commonplace. Granted it may be complex: heroin epidemic, recession and job losses, and "sober homes". But I don't see anything getting better in any way. West Palm is right along with us, and they have even more development that we do. It sure feels like all this catering to developers as the answer is just getting us more crime, the blight remains, and I really worry about corruption in government.
