Wow! That must be one very big bed to fit all of these players in it ! John Prince Park is a public Park.Destruction of public park land should never be acceptable. There must be better sites around the county and the east coast of Florida. One that comes to mind is the old Jai Alai property.
john prince park is a better location than 45th st. they are already building a stadium near 45th st. hope the lights, traffic and crowd noise don't keep the good folks at roloh up at night.
The Jai Alai fronton is a great suggestion, plenty of room for parking in close proximity to Tri-Rail. Previously used as a sports attraction so roads and traffic capacity should be manageable. And my recollection is that land was discussed when the locations were being scouted for the WPB stadium which is in the other direction on 45th street. It is a great piece of land for this project.
What about putting Lantana on the map, there is a big land space where they had an old hospital on Lantana Road just east of the Publix and I95 that would be a great place for that stadium.
I believe the Lantana development plans are pretty far along and the developer rejected the idea of including ball park, ball fields are included as was required when the hospital was torn down and sold off to developer.
The old AG Holley site on Lantana will be residential housing -apt, condos and town homes... Already in the approval process, so you can forget about that site.
