PARK HISTORY
John Prince was a member of the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners for 18 years. In the 1930s and 1940s, thanks to his efforts, developers and the State donated more than 1,000 acres in Lake Worth for a community park. The park was named in his memory after his death in 1952, and it is believed to be the second oldest County-operated park in Florida. Source: Our Century, Palm Beach Post

This makes no sense on so many levels.
Why didn't WPTV get some comments from people who live adjacent to this train wreck? They quoted a guy from BOYNTON BEACH???? Who the frig cares about this guy? Why doesn't BOYNTON give up one of IT'S parks for destruction?????
Don't worry about John Prince Park. Let's just say it was the best 9,000 bucks that HUDSON HOLDINGS ever spent. Rinaldi, you might think twice before selling Sabal Palm.
County commissioners must be out of their minds. Look at that map. Look what they will do here? It's not just the county, it's also Lake Wroth commissioners, the trio to be exact, that want to destroy a public park as well as throw a neighborhood under the bus. Within 5 years, this area will be nothing but blight and out of control crime. LWorth tries hard to ruin neighborhoods.
Does the deed restriction mean anything if it still classified as a park but there is a ball park in the middle of it?
I was at the splash park yesterday, tons and tons of families out on a blustery day enjoying the splash park, picnicking, the playground, etc. I actually don't use that park all that much but wanted to try the splash park and its clear that this is a well utilized park. Would be shame for all that recreation area to be handed over to a rich guy ball club owner. Looks like the entire area of the play ground, splash park, disabled access playground would be bulldozed for the ball fields.
This just makes me sick to even think about it. I love this park and walk it every day. It is home to endangered species including the gopher tortoise. I just hate to think that now developers own all our "representatives" what was once a great place to live is now all for sale to the highest bidder. They tried to develop the Lantana Airport some time ago and that was blocked I heard due to destruction of the gopher tortoise habitat. They are essential for the ecology of the present environment, both plant and animal. But then again I have also heard the Gov. Scott has dismembered the Fish and Wildlife Commission here. And now we have designated hunt/kill periods e.g. bears. I just never thought I'd have to live in an area I love so much and watch it being taken over by anything the rich bitches want at the moment. Selling drugs, pushing sober homes, confiscating parks and beaches. Pay to plan and pay to dope and dupe. Maxwell's minions strike again.
These team owners are like really bad renters, they demand top services, get them then leave for the next fancy land deal breaking the lease and paying nothing for the wreckage they left behind.
Now Scott is sacrificing his entire neighborhood. Doesn't he live there? Why would you suppose he would do that? Take a few guesses. He isn't mentally deficient, is he?

I don't go to John Prince that often, but I was there yesterday and didn't actually see any homeless or drug addicts hanging out. All I saw were families with kids enjoying a picnic or playing on the playground equipment, etc. I see more homeless walking down my street due to all the sober homes, than I did at the park. I also, actually saw a park police officer walking around which was nice. I rarely see PBSO doing the same.
If the area shown on the map is correct then it is right in the middle of the Great Horned Owls nesting site!
Can we please do something for conservation at the park and feel Scott Maxwell to the alligators?
