Trump Vows to Pursue Death Penalty After Biden Pardons

President-elect Donald Trump vowed on Tuesday to “vigorously pursue” the death penalty for violent convicted felons once he returns to office in January.

“As soon as I am inaugurated, I will direct the Justice Department to vigorously pursue the death penalty to protect American families and children from violent rapists, murderers, and monsters,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. “We will be a Nation of Law and Order again!”

The president-elect’s pledge came in response to President Joe Biden’s decision on Monday to commute the sentences of 37 of the 40 federal prisoners on death row. Merry Christmas, Murderers.

The federal government is using its vast resources and its largest agencies to register new voters and expand mail-in balloting, with the help of nonprofits.

A federal effort to register voters using the government’s vast reach, including throughout the U.S. prison system, is raising concerns from critics who have said it won’t benefit Democrats and Republicans equally.

Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson wrote to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on March 6 alleging that agencies under the attorney general’s charge are “attempting to register people to vote, including potentially ineligible felons, and to co-opt state and local officials into accomplishing this goal.”

The allegation relates to President Joe Biden’s Executive Order 14019, which states, “The head of each agency shall evaluate ways in which the agency can, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, promote voter registration and voter participation.”

Among other things, this order has forced U.S. Marshals to modify more than 900 contracts with prisons and jails to provide voter registration documents and facilitate mail-in voting for inmates, Mr. Watson wrote. “We have worked extremely hard to restore the confidence of Mississippi voters in our election process,” Mr. Watson told The Epoch Times.

“To have the Biden administration and the DOJ purposefully undermine these efforts and jeopardize the integrity of Mississippi’s elections is unacceptable.”

Felon voting rights fight flares up again

The Florida Rights Restoration Coalition has filed a lawsuit alleging that the state’s handling of the 2018 voter-approved Amendment 4 is preventing and intimidating eligible voters.

The amendment, designed to restore voting rights to people with completed felony convictions, excluding those of murder or felony sexual offenses, is being improperly implemented, according to the coalition. The defendants named include Gov. Ron DeSantis and other state officials.

The amendment received approval with a 64.55% majority. I remember the day that I signed the petition to get it on the ballot. Jo-Ann Golden was in the Cultural Plaza and asked me to sign...I did. It seemed only fair if a felon completed his sentence he should be allowed to vote. When it came time to vote on it and having time to think about it, I voted against. Jo-Ann, who spent her life fighting for human rights, civil rights for the LGBTQ community, environmental and economic justice, passed away in 2019. She was a fine soul.

After it passed, Gov. DeSantis signed Senate Bill 7066 in 2019, requiring felons to pay all restitution, fines, fees, or costs resulting from their conviction before voting rights could be restored. This is a fair law as that would be completion of their sentence but liberals are fighting this...they always fight about everything.

DeSantis signed a Republican-backed bill last year stipulating that, in addition to serving their time, felons would have to pay all unpaid fines and restitution before being eligible to vote.

Voter rights advocates immediately sued the governor and the state. Now the case will return to the appeals court, which is scheduled to hold a hearing Aug. 18, the same day as Florida's primary.

This morning, the liberal left-wing biased Palm Beach Post's headline read--"Florida Felon Voting Rights--Scott restored rights to lowest percentage of blacks, highest percentage of Republicans in 50 years."

There you have it..just more proof of their liberal and racist approach to everything. The Post came after Rick Scott and suggested racism all in the same breath. Most of the liberals like this amendment...they  advocate for more felon rights--it's all about the vote for them.

I haven't seen one campaign AGAINST this amendment other than on this blog.

Florida Amendment 4 - Vote NO

Although a year ago I signed Jo-Ann Golden's petition to restore the voting rights of convicted felons who have completed their sentences, I have changed my mind.  At that time my feelings were, if you've done the crime and you've done the time, your rights should be restored. However, after much thinking about it, the law on the books is good as it stands.

We all know that convicted felons repeat crimes that get them back into prison. "The most common understanding of recidivism is based state data from the US Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, stating that two-thirds (68 percent) of prisoners released were arrested for a new crime within three years of release from prison, and three-quarters (77 percent) were arrested within five years." On February 1, 2018, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Walker ruled Florida's process for the restoration of voting abilities for felons unconstitutional, saying it violated the First Amendment and the Fourteenth Amendment.^[7] Gov. Scott announced that he would appeal the ruling to U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The Eleventh Circuit concurred with Gov. Scott's request, staying the lower court's ruling.

So, convicted felons waiting 5 years to have voting rights restored is not unfair. If they can stay "clean" for five years, they are on the road to recovery. And trust me, if you vote for Andrew Gillum, all convicted felons will be voting.

Florida Amendment 4, the Voting Rights Restoration for Felons Initiative, is on the ballot in Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment on November 6, 2018.^[3]

A "yes" vote supports this amendment to automatically restore the right to vote for people with prior felony convictions, except those convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense, upon completion of their sentences, including prison, parole, and probation.

A "no" vote opposes this amendment to automatically restore the right to vote for people with prior felony convictions, except those convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense, upon completion of their sentences, including prison, parole, and probation.

In Florida, a constitutional amendment requires a 60 percent vote of voters to be approved. There is a larger percentage of Democrats than Republicans in the state.

All the polls indicate that this Amendment will pass.

If Al Sharpton wants felons to be able to vote in Florida, than I have a big problem with the entire idea and will have to study it further.

Originally I signed Jo-Ann Golden's petition one night down at the Cultural Plaza to restore the voting rights of convicted Florida felons. I was hesitant but the rationale for me was, if you've done your time than you're rights should be restored. It was a black and white decision for me. I didn't think it through enough.

Even though the ballot amendment made exceptions for murder and rape, it is a known fact that most criminals re-enter the prison system. For the most part, they do not get rehabilitated. There are consequences from committing crimes that violate the rights of others and one consequence should be the restoration of voting rights. Voting is a privilege that should not be taken lightly..

According to Sunshine State News, "We have an estimated 1.6 million convicted felons in Florida and we are one of a few states that do not automatically restore voting rights to felons who have completed their sentences. An estimated 600,000 felons could have their voting rights restored if voters approve the measure, which will appear on the November ballot as Amendment 4.

The ruling Wednesday from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals handed Gov. Rick Scott and the other members of the Board of Executive Clemency a decisive victory by blocking a federal judge’s order that would have required the state to overhaul Florida’s process of restoring the right to vote to felons by yesterday."

The State of California and San Francisco made this verdict political.  Even the defense attorney politicized this verdict when he brought up President Trump's name. The jury was not allowed to hear any of the background of Jose Zrate, a 7 times felon. He was presented as some poor, homeless immigrant who stumbled upon a loaded gun that discharged accidentally. He was found guilty of possession of a fireman and will be deported back to Mexico for the sixth time.  We will see him again in California--he knows where his bread is buttered.

It is time to end sanctuary cities. It is time for the government to end funding to any city or state that allows sanctuary for illegals. And it is time to end making the rights of illegals more important than the rights of American citizens.

Sanctuary City bill and Kate's Law to be signed by President Trump

Yesterday, Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary said that President Donald Trump is looking forward to signing two bills designed to curb illegal immigration.

The House is expected to vote on both the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act and Kate’s Law at the end of this week.

If you recall, Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, an undocumented immigrant and repeat felon from Mexico who'd been deported five times, is accused of shooting Steinle in the back, a 32-year-old medical device sales rep, as she walked on a San Francisco pier with her father. Lopez-Sanchez said it was an accident.

Democrats want convicted felons to vote

Democrats, after having lost the Florida election to Donald Trump, want convicted felons to be able to vote and even are going to put it on the ballot in 2018. It doesn't matter who can vote--convicted felons, illegal immigrants if they can figure out a way--as long as they vote Democratic.

Lake Worth Democrat Sen. Jeff Clemens wants to allow felons the right to vote. He just filed a joint resolution (SJR 74) for lawmakers to consider in the 2017 session, which begins in March. No House version has been filed yet.

I read where a Lake Worth resident on Facebook said that Jeff was doing a very good job. I guess it depends upon what party you represent. He voted against every major key vote but one while in the legislature.

If Washington’s three-strike law was enforced, 61-year-old Mount Vernon, Washington police officer Mike “Mick” McClaughry would not be fighting for his life in a hospital after being shot in the back of the head by a repeat felon.

Florida has a Three Strikes law but for a judge to apply the law, all three violent felonies must have occurred separately and been committed within a five-year span. The accused has to be convicted and not just arrested. and let's end some of these plea deals.

60,000 Felons pardoned in Virginia and now can vote

October 21 was the last day one could register to vote in Virginia. If any of these felons registered or were registered before that date, they can vote. Virginia's Governor Terry McAuliffe and the Democrats are relying on the felon vote for Hillary Clinton.

There is always a way to swing an election and Democrats will use every trick in the book.

Virginia Supreme Court stops Felon voting scheme

I am really tired of liberals screaming obscenities at Rick Scott.  It is always one issue but they blow that up and make it out as if he is the worst person who ever came down the pike. What he's doing is trying to make Florida great.  He does need, however, to stop over-development (most of that is from local governments) and ensure that our environment remains pristine perfect.

Now we have good news and it's about time but it happened in Virginia.  It seems that governors make executive orders too, not just Obama.  This one was allowing hundreds of thousands of convicted felons the right to vote in this upcoming presidential election. It was said that most felons vote Democratic...no surprise.

The governor, Terry McAuliffe, and a friend of the Clintons, was sneaky about it as it could have been decided during the regular session but he waited until two days later to issue his order. Now he has to rescind all these voter registrations by August 25 per their Supreme Court that said it was unconstitutional.

Harrison followed up the REAR (a prefect place for him) in this Veterans' Day Parade with himself using a bullhorn (calling out my name), two of his Kavasutra trucks and the other advertising his Green Vape store in downtown Lake Worth.

Using our tribute to Veterans who served their country in order to advertise his two businesses is a special affront to Vets but why would we be surprised...he did have on a patriotic hat.
