Presidente Supermarket targets growing Hispanic, Caribbean population in Lake Worth Beach

Presidente Supermarkets opens new store in Lake Worth Beach

This is its 10th in Palm Beach County. They moved into a commercial space in the Arbor Square Center at 2505 N. Dixie Highway

The grocer offers a wide variety of ethic food from the Caribbean, Central and South American Countries and is known for its homestyle-food cafeteria.

Well, why not? No one ever assimilates into the American culture and with Biden's open border policy, the demographics are rapidly changing in America.
  • The Hispanic/Latinos are 47.8% in Lake Worth Beach.
  • The Whites are at 31.8%

Less Whites in the U.S. since our founding

Census Numbers Show White Population Decreases for First Time in American History

"The growth in the American population over the last decade was driven entirely by minority communities, according to new data released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau, as the number of white Americans declined for the first time since the nation’s founding.

Non-Hispanic whites make up just under 58 percent of the American population, the first time since the census was first conducted that they have fallen under the 60 percent mark. By contrast, the 2000 census showed non-Hispanic whites made up just over 69 percent of the population, and 63.7 percent in 2010."

For sure, Whites are a minority in Lake Worth at 34.9% and we know what has caused that! It's a "federal" problem they say.

Now our National Parks are Racist

Elements of the left are claiming now that America’s national parks are built on systemic racism

"New government data, shared first with ABC News, shows the country’s premier outdoor spaces — the 419 national parks — remain overwhelmingly white." SO WHAT? Our country is overwhelmingly WHITE. So, what's the surprise? What's the beef?

"Just 23 percent of visitors to the parks were people of color, the National Park Service found in its most recent 10-year survey; 77 percent were white. Minorities make up 42 percent of the U.S. population.

The U.S. Census Bureau projects people of color will be a majority in America by 2044 — a demographic shift that will impact park attendance and finances. Community advocates say physical and mental health for minority communities is also at risk."

Yes, demographics are changing thanks to all the illegal aliens who are in this country and who continue to break our laws every day by crossing our borders. But, the largest ethnic minority (Hispanics) comprises 18%, Blacks 13.4% (and Omari Hardy says the black representation on the Lake Worth dais is non-representative of minorities. It's 20%), Non-Hispanic Whites are at 61% but if you throw in White Hispanic Latinos, it brings it up to 77% WHITE. [Source: Wikipedia]

Immigration at all time record to U.S.

TOTAL IMMIGRATION TO U.S. TIES ALL TIME RECORD

"The U.S. tied its all-time record for new immigration — both legal and illegal — in 2016, with 1.75 million arrivals, according to a new study Wednesday.

The Center for Immigration Studies, which is releasing the report, says the increase is part of a post-Great Recession rebound that’s quickly changing the demographics of the U.S.

The surge was driven chiefly by Latin America, which saw its numbers double from about 335,000 in 2011 to 668,000 in 2016, pushing it past Asia as the top-sending region."[Overpasses for America]

Housing Projects coming to Lake Worth

"There are currently five other housing projects underway or near completion in Lake Worth other than Lake Cove community, a 59 single-family home subdivision being built on a 12-acre site on 19th Avenue North, just north of Vernon Heights..
  • The One, a 14-unit, four-story condo on South Palmway and Lake Avenue that is 60 percent sold and due to be completed in August.
  • Banyan Court Apartments, a 3-story complex on North A Street that will include 85 1- and 2-bedroom units.
  • Adopt-A-Family is building a 14-unit housing development at North A Street and 3rd Avenue North by 2020.
  • The MID, a 230-unit project at 1601 N. Dixie Highway received an economic development incentive from the city in May, with staff still awaiting for submission of the major site plan.
  • Golden Roads, a 189-unit apartment complex on the north side of 10th Avenue, just west of Boutwell Road."
Can you even imagine all the traffic on A Street and 10th Avenue North once some of these developments are built?  Holy Moly.  And who pays for all this infrastructure? As far as the crime addressed in this article, commissioners just ignore those sections of Lake Worth and you never see PBSO until AFTER the fact.

A population purposely being obliterated in Lake Worth

Comment Up
Taken in August 2011

The seniors are a healthy base. They have sold their homes up North and have come down here to retire. They bring their life savings with them--all their securities, etc. For the most part, this is an ideal people to appeal to instead of those who aren't even citizens. They are law-abiding and peaceful folks. But Lake Worth is no longer doing that.

We in Lake Worth, just a few years ago, had a healthy Senior population (14%) and the City catered to them by providing recreational services. They played at our shuffleboard courts and had many tournaments. We had Thursday nights for the big band sound concerts at Bryant Park, when the park was safe. Developers built entire communities just for them providing a pool, clubhouse and -- shuffleboard courts. Seniors had trolley transportation and had a senior center where they could walk to and socialize. The message was to come to Lake Worth and have a carefree time with all the amenities, no worries and live in a safe city.

We didn't have a lot of garbage strewn around. People could actually speak English (only 47% do now). The culture was all about respect for our environment, respect for our laws and respect for our neighbors. There were 144 registered sex offenders living in Lake Worth, Florida as of October 19, 2015 according to City Data. Crime is out of control.

Now that the average age is around 35 with those having a bunch of kids, the priority has shifted. No longer is Lake Worth attracting the retiree. In fact, the Senior has been retired to obscurity and Lake Worth is concentrating on the poor artist, building affordable housing, (the City now has a loan program for poor people to buy houses), bulldozing our shuffleboard courts, and all the amenities that used to exist for our retirees are no longer.

Florida is not even in the top 10 for retirement. Now they're going to Arizona and elsewhere.

Lake Worth Demographics - The Ugly Reality

Comment Up

At breakfast, someone asked me, "Lynn, do you realize the number of empty houses and storefronts in our city?" As he was driving around town, he witnessed more and more abandoned properties and thought the number appalling. Thus I have posted our stats and as everyone knows, it is not a pretty picture.  We also briefly discussed the City's intent to pour $6 million into the Park of Commerce with the city falsely believing that this is some sort of salvation for it down the road...spend multi-millions never to recapture it back in advalorem for 50 to 100 years. They never listened to one-half of the voters who said "no."

Household Income Levels
Less than $30,000 6,354 (45%)
$30,000 to $74,999 6,140 (44%)
$75,000 to $149,999 1,424 (10%)
$150,000 or More 166 (1%)

Total housing units 15,861-- 100.0%
Occupied housing units 13,828-- 87.2
Vacant housing units 2,033-- 12.8
For seasonal, recreational, or occasional use 876-- 5.5

Lake Worth, Florida

Comment Up
Land area in square miles, 2010-- 5.87

A little Trivia:

Housing units, 2010-- 16,473
Total number of firms, 2007-- 5,395
Persons below poverty level, percent, 2008-2012-- 28.6%
Population, 2013 estimate-- 36,000

Homeowner's Rate, 2008-2012-- 51.5%
Number of registered voters, 15,293

According to the latest audit, in 2012 the city recognized $22.0 million in revenue and spent $28.4 million.  Sounds like the federal government but there is one difference here--we can't print money!

With property values down again, it implemented rate adjustments with decreases of $3.2 million in electric, $.5 million in water operations and a decrease of $1.1 million in regional sewer. We ended up spending more in this budget cycle than income received. The commission also voted on settlement of the Greater Bay flam flam man suit and the regional sewer suit with a total expense of $2.4 mil according to the audit.

I could go on and on about this but you see the trend.  We spend more than we receive (and the commission allowed this to happen in 2013/2014 after just going through a $6 mil deficit in 2012/2013) and then it voted to reduce our income potential in the electric utility by reducing the rates by 4.25%.  Why would they do this when we had just spent $6 million more than we had received? City departments want to increase their budgets in the 2014/2015 Budget year and even add more employees which means more expenses in salaries, insurance and retirement benefits. Not one commissioner said "boo" to their requests. AND WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY!

We can't spend our way out of poverty. We can't operate a city on a deficit. We can't spend our way out of debt or tie up the property owners with 34 years of bond debt when we can't even take care of the basics. We need to live within our means. We also need to trust our officials and that gets harder with each passing day and the city's slum, blight and crime is non-stop.

Lake Worth Demographics - The Selling of Lake Worth

People are confused about how large our city is as far as area. Someone just asked me that question yesterday and my answer was--anywhere from 5 to 7 square miles as that is what we have heard. Even the Vice Mayor wasn't sure. And it is no wonder why we all can get confused as the information that is provided to us is conflicting--

SOURCE
Wikipedia:  6.46 miles square with land at 5.945 sq. miles
Lake Worth:  6.97
U.S. Census:  5.87

After cruising over the city's new web site this morning, I noticed that it gave the average income as $20,165 which averages out at $168.00 a week. Unless most of the city is on Medicaid and food stamps and lives in subsidizing housing or Section 8, this figure is questionable. Perhaps this is why the city continues to agree to build more affordable housing including rentals. They are attracting more poor people just for the tax base that will come from the dwelling...the selling out of Lake Worth.

SOURCE
Wikipedia:  $30,034 average income--$35,374 average household income
Lake Worth: $20,165
U.S. Census:  $37,288 average household income

Language other than English spoken at home is 54.1% whereas the State average is 27%.  67% of our residents have a high school diploma compared to the State average of 85.5%. 19.4% of our residents have a bachelor's degree or higher. You know these college folks are making well over the average weekly salary.

If you have a business, you want to attract the affluent who have the money to buy whatever product or service you are offering.  Here in Lake Worth, we offer the most  magnificent assets that include our beach and golf course, an eclectic downtown and a city that is close to Interstate travel, shopping and the best weather going. Why not start thinking about all of our great amenities when we look at future development and who we want to attract to our city.
