"I am very happy to be back home in South Florida, How the life has
changed for us as a community over the last 30 years. South Florida has
one of the most diverse Muslim communities in the United States. We have
Muslims from all corners of the world that have emigrated here to make
this home. As Muslims we are taught the fundamentals on how to live our
life in peace. We are taught how to believe and worship Allah SWT. We
are taught how to treat our families with respect and dignity. We are
also taught how to deal with society and live in peace. If we seek the
knowledge that Allah SWT has given us, we can live peacefully in this
life and Insha’Allah be among the winners in the next.
Allah SWT has blessed me with this opportunity to serve
the Muslim community of South Florida. As the Executive Director of CAIR
South Florida it is my job to protect your civil rights and serve the
Muslim community. The United States of America also gives us rights. We
as Muslims have the right to practice Islam without fear of
discrimination or retaliation. We as Muslims have the right to raise our
children according to Islam without interference. We as Muslims have
the right to participate in the governing of our society. And most
importantly, we as Muslims have the right to live in peace.
