Kathie Lee Gifford coming to Lake Worth

Half Jewish and a lover of the Bible, "NBC’s Kathie Lee Gifford is coming to Lake Worth next month.

The three-time Emmy-winning co-host of the fourth hour of “Today,” will be at Book Cellar on Lake Avenue on March 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. as part of a “Happy Hour Mingle” to promote her latest book, The Rock, the Road and the Rabbi.”

High End Book Store coming to Lake Worth

I have to wonder if many people read books these days.  The last 7 books I ordered over the last year, have been virtually unread such as Muslim Mafia, Killing the Rising Sun...I just can't sit still long enough. We have the Internet where we get instant news. I even forgot about one of our local authors and her book signing last night and I really wanted to attend. There are many people I know who no longer subscribe to our local Palm Beach County newspaper although that is probably price and politics that have driven them away.

Loren Spivack will be tonight's speaker at the Republican Club of Central Palm Beach County. The meeting starts at 6:00 at the Atlantis Country Club.

Loren Spivack “The Free Market Warrior” was born and raised in Massachusetts and spent most of his adult life in New York City. Before becoming active in politics, Spivack worked for several non-profits and as a management consultant for both profit and non-profit companies.

His “Free Market Warrior” store was expelled from Concord Mills Mall in North Carolina in July of 2009 for selling material critical of the Obama Administration. Several months ago, I bought his book, The New Democrat.

Meet the Author at the Lake Worth Public Library

The Lake Worth Public Library’s will host Mr. Tony Kearney at its free Meet the Author evening, Thursday, June 9^th at 7:00 pm. Mr. Kearney will introduce his two new books “Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sunshine In.” and “How to be the Best Person in the World.”

Tony Kearney is an educator, trainer, facilitator, mediator, farmer, environmentalist, corporate lawyer and published author. (Who Owns the Future?, Boo!, The Tao of Awe, How to be the Best Person in the World, Open up your Heart and let the Sunshine in.)  Originally from New Zealand he moved to Ireland in 2006 for a change of lifestyle. He travels widely from his home in Ireland facilitating events to do with personal and planetary change

In addition to his two new book, he will present a short lecture:

”FINDING THE FUTURE IN YOU and FINDING YOU IN THE FUTURE.”

Thursday night Mr. Kearny will be looking at some fresh and exciting ways that you, yes you, can not only become the best person in the world by opening up your heart and letting the sunshine in, but you can also help save the planet and the future at the same time!

Roger Stone blasts the Clintons

Last night I attended the Republican Club of Central Palm Beach County's meeting at the Atlantis Country Club.  Roger Stone was the guest speaker who is an American political consultant, lobbyist and strategist. He talked primarily about his new book, the Clinton's War on Women, making some shocking revelations.

He collaborated this best seller with Robert Morrow, a political researcher and historian on a detailed accounting of the Clintons who he said used accusations, intimidation, and cover-ups against women and children.  The Clintons’ “systematically abuse women and others – sexually, physically, and psychologically – in their scramble for power and wealth,” says the book’s press release.

Mr. Stone, a former adviser to Donald Trump, (no one knows for sure if he quit or was fired) didn't have anything positive to say about any of the candidates other than Donald Trump. You left wondering whether all his conspiracy theories, now and from the past, were 100% real and if there is anyone honest in politics today.

Read his bio in Wikipedia and you will find he has been a "clever" operative his entire political life.

Author Ted Brownstein at Lake Worth Library

Mr. Ted Brownstein, author of the new book “Pioneers of Jewel: A Documentary History of Lake Worth's Forgotten First Settlement (1885 - 1910)” will be presenting his new book at the Lake Worth Public Library on Thursday, December 12^th at 7:00 pm.

Mr. Brownstein will be selling and autographing his new book after the presentation. All proceeds from the sale of his book benefit the Friends of the Lake Worth Library’s ongoing support of the Library. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.  Flyers will be out next week about the program.  Please pass the word along to others and I hope to see many of you there.

Pioneers of Jewell

Today is about buying local in our quaint low-rise city-- 

This past Tuesday, I bought Ted Brownstein's latest book, Pioneers of Jewel, which is a documentary of a lost community in Lake Worth named Jewell that was founded in 1885 by former slaves, the Jameses. The book was written in commemoration of Lake Worth's 100 birthday and is a Lake Worth Herald publication.

You can buy the book on Amazon or purchase it at City Hall for 3 bucks less @ $15.  Proceeds go to the Lake Worth Library.
