Jack Smith Under Investigation by Office of Special Counsel

The Office of Special Counsel has launched a formal investigation into Jack Smith, the first official legal probe into his conduct, The Post has reported.

Smith is the justice department lawyer who oversaw two criminal investigations into President Donald Trump during the Biden administration, one into Trump’s handling of classified documents, the other as to whether his actions on Jan. 6th, 2021, were an attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Both cases were dismissed.

An email reviewed by The Post states The Hatch Act Unit, which enforces a law restricting government employees from engaging in political activities, has begun reviewing the former Special Counsel for the United States Department of Justice. The email was written by Senior Counsel Charles Baldis at OSC.

Special Counsel Finds Biden’s Energy Secretary Violated Federal Law

The Office of the Special Counsel (OSC) has ruled that Joe Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm violated federal law, The Daily Wire reports.

Granholm, the former Democrat governor of Michigan, violated the Hatch Act in 2021.

Specifically, Granholm used her office of Secretary of Energy to promote candidates during an interview and that instance is what triggered the violation of federal law.

Special Counsel Declares ‘Close Call’ on Whether Fauci Undermined Trump During 2020 Election

It’s a bad sign when even the whitewash admits it’s a “close call.”

But that was the ruling last week when the United States Office of Special Counsel decided that de facto COVID czar Anthony Fauci didn’t break a law against federal employees engaging in political activity when he gave a loaded interview to The Washington Post that boosted then-candidate Joe Biden against then-President Donald Trump less than a week before the 2020 election.

And the ruling used reasoning only the Beltway could pretend to believe.

In a letter dated Jan. 3, the OSC responded to a complaint filed by the conservative nonprofit group Protect the Public’s Trust that accused Fauci of violating the Hatch Act, which is aimed at keeping electioneering out of federal government offices.

Fauci Hit with Hatch Act Complaint

Washington, D.C. — "Dr. Anthony Fauci, the man many consider to be the public face of the U.S. government’s fight against the COVID virus, now stands accused of violating a federal law prohibiting certain government employees from engaging in activities and making statements intended to influence the electorate.

Protect the Public’s Trust, a government watchdog organization, said in a June 30 filing that Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, ran afoul of Hatch Act restrictions during an October 30, 2020 interview with The Washington Post in which he “intimated that the state of the nation’s public health outlook could be directly linked to the two candidates’ diverse approaches” to combating the spread of the novel coronavirus."
