Merrick Garland held in Contempt of Congres

House votes to hold US attorney general in contempt of Congress.

"The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to hold US Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over subpoenaed audio recordings.

The recordings are of President Joe Biden’s interviews with former special counsel Robert Hur, who investigated Biden’s handling of classified material and declined to bring charges.

The White House previously pointed out that the Department of Justice has already provided transcripts and has complied with the other aspects of the initial subpoena from Republicans.

The vote was 216 to 207 with one Republican voting against it – Rep. Dave Joyce of Ohio."

Garland's days of acting above the law might be numbered

Merrick Garland Arrest is Imminent??

In a day and age where the word “unprecedented” has been thrown around more than a football during Super Bowl season, we find ourselves yet again at the brink of what can only be described as a political thriller.

This time, the spotlight shines on Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a name that resonates with the unyielding spirit of the MAGA movement.

In recent events that could easily be mistaken for a script straight out of Hollywood, Luna fired a metaphorical warning shot towards Attorney General Merrick Garland that could echo through the halls of justice for years to come.

During a House Oversight Committee vote on whether to hold Garland in contempt, Luna found herself having to quiet down Democrat Jasmine Crockett, who, in a display fit for WWE, began screaming and cussing. It’s moments like these that make you wonder if we’re discussing the halls of Congress or a rowdy sports bar on game night.

Chaos erupted during a House Oversight Committee hearing between Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) after Greene accused Crockett of wearing “fake eyelashes.”

The controversy started during a markup to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress on May 16. Greene asked if any Democrats on the panel were employing the daughter of Judge Juan Merchan, who is proceeding over former President Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan.

Confused by the question, Crockett stepped in to ask if Greene understood the purpose of the hearing. “Please tell me what that has to do with Merrick Garland,” Crockett asked. “Do you know what we’re here for?” The GOP congresswoman responded with, “I don’t think you know what you’re here for” and continued with, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”

Fani can't be bothered to fully comply with Subpoena

Fani Willis Faces Possible Contempt of Congress Proceedings Over Subpoena Non-Compliance

House Republicans have notified Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis that she could face contempt of Congress proceedings for alleged non-compliance with a subpoena to produce records related to her office’s use of federal funds related to her case against former President Donald Trump.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has threatened to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings against Ms. Willis, with the Republican lawmaker accusing the Fulton County DA in a March 14 letter of failing to fully comply with the Feb. 2 subpoena and of smearing a “brave whistleblower” who spoke out about her alleged misuse of federal fund grants.

The subpoena is the result of a Washington Free Beacon report that claimed that the whistleblower—a former employee in Ms. Willis’s office—was demoted after she warned Ms. Willis about her alleged use of federal grant funds that were supposed to be used for the prevention of gang activity but were instead used for trips and laptops.

House to hold Hunter in Contempt

House Moves to Hold Hunter Biden in Contempt

Next week, the House Judiciary Committee will deliberate on a resolution that would hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for refusing to appear for a deposition in accordance with a subpoena.

“We’re going to move forward with contempt proceedings. … There’s a process we have to follow, but we plan to do that,” House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) declared on December 13th.

Biden, the son of the president, was scheduled to testify before investigators from three committees investigating his business dealings last month.

Following a vote by the Judiciary Committee, the resolution is subject to a weighing process before the entire House.

I think we know how that will go.
