California Over-billed the U.S. Fire Services

Trump Administration Withholding Wildfire Assistance To California

After Audit Suggests Financial Mismanagement

Apparently, the communist State of California under the leadership of ultra-liberal, Gavin Newsom and Jerry Brown before him, have not turned in actual verified expenses to fight California's wildfires. Consequently, California over-billed the U.S. Fire Services in fighting fires on federal lands by $9million  because they had no proof of their claim.

This reminds me of Lake Worth.  This same thing went on after Hurricanes Frances, Jeanne and Wilma. I have written about this through the years where the city took millions of government money that it was not entitled to according to FEMA because of sloppy accounting or even possible fraud according to our outside auditors at the time. We even had a city manager, Paul Boyer, who was fired.

Lake Worth failed to submit all verified expenses to FEMA. However, Staff back then was turning in receipts for all sorts of personal items such as medicine and goods from Sam's Club. The City sure didn't want to pay back any of the money to FEMA and challenged them using Torcivia's Law firm and got the bill reduced. See my blog of May 2016. Click here

Sunday's Sermon - The Clear and Present Danger

Comment Up

It is sad that our world has come to this...that everyone wants our stuff...too many people who believe the world owes them a living and they are entitled to what you worked hard to achieve. Now we have to take a tire off our bike and lock it up with heavy duty chains because so many low-lives want our chips and think they are above the law.

Now we will have 5 million illegals granted the greatest gift in the world, a passage to citizenship in America. More will follow. They didn't have to work for this privilege. They didn't have to stand in line. All they had to do was walk across our open border or travel here on a temporary Visa and never leave.  Employers hire them with no documentation and the government has not enforced E-Verify. Criminals were deported soon to return over and over again. The problem got so out of control that Obama finally said, "Oh the hell with it."

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch says, "Despicably, the White House's web propaganda arm leads with Obama's misleading reference to Holy Scripture to justify this lawlessness."

Exactly what he said is as follows: “We shall not oppress a stranger for we know the heart of a stranger — we were strangers once, too.”

Fitton further said, "The president, our oppressor, steals our liberty, mocks the law-abiding, violates his oath to God - and dares to lecture us on oppression. Obama's power grab is an attack on the very soul of our representative government.  Is Obama king or a man subject to the law?"

The president can't make up his own version of the law. The centerpiece of a free society is fidelity to our laws. We don't expect less from the president of the United States.  That fidelity, along with our Constitution, needs to be protected just like that bike tire above.

So much for Liberals and Planners - Detroit's Demise

Comment Up

Detroit emergency manager Kevyn Orr is returning to court as a witness in the sixth day of the city's bankruptcy trial.

Old video but applies more than ever today.  And the last I looked, we still had graffiti in our downtown. We continue to give away or lease away valuable properties to non-profits and we encourage affordable housing.  No problem trying to grab federal grant money...we do it willfully. No problem for this commission in trying to make our entire city an enterprise zone to encourage development in blighted neighborhoods through tax and regulatory relief to entrepreneurs and investors who launch businesses in our city. We are attracting more and more poor.  We compare ourselves to BelleGlade...why not Detroit...does that come next? We give a waiver to anyone who asks that wants to sell beer and wine. We spend a fortune on policing and still have tons of crime. This video is about the fall of Detroit but we are following their plan.

Domestic threat - Poverty

People on the dole--we have millions of them and they are growing, thanks to Obama. There is so much abuse and fraud, and you, the taxpayer has been made a party to it all through growing socialistic government programs.

With 20 percent of all American households on food stamps, amounting to 23.1 million households and 47.6 million individuals in July, an across-the-board cut in food-stamp benefits is scheduled to go into effect in November, even though most recipients know nothing about the coming change, says WND.

The government won't even give you true facts on poverty in America. "The upshot of this is that in the old days what the poverty line was really measuring is the number of people who were poor after the things we did to reduce poverty. Today that same poverty line is measuring the number of people who are poor before all the things we do to reduce poverty," i.e, SNAP, Medicaid, Section 8, etc.

And speaking of Section 8, don't be surprised if we don't get that at Boutwell and Lake Worth Road in the future.  This Commission was so intense about kick starting the Park of Commerce, it voted in 212 affordable, ooops, workforce rentals that are now under construction. Can't wait to see how that will change my neighborhood.

The Welfare State - Now it's Obama phones

No one seems to be talking about our growing and unsustainable DEBT anymore. Have you noticed that?  There have been way too many issues that have taken over front page news...terrorists who bomb and kill in our country and who this administration believes are NOT enemy combatants, for one.

However, the debt continues to escalate to unimaginable levels. Right now, we owe $16.798 trillion dollars and we continue to give away our money, borrowed to boot, to the enemy.  Now "free" phones are back in the news, the Lifeline Program that was started 28 years ago to provide discounted phone service to poor folks.

Our poor is growing, thanks to the crappy economy and the vast unemployment as well as the 11 to 22 million illegals in this country taking American jobs. And Obama wants to play games with sequestration.

Under Obama, “the Lifeline program has nearly tripled in size from $800 million in 2009 to $2.2 billion per year in 2012. American taxpayers — and their elected representatives — need to know how much of this growth is because of waste, fraud and abuse.”

Pro-amnesty supporters and Illegals to Protest

On April 10,  tens of thousands of pro-amnesty protesters to Washington, D.C., will be bused in to march on the Capitol. They will demand an immediate amnesty for (in many cases) themselves and other illegal aliens now residing in America, taking our jobs and drawing our benefits.

Do you remember past rallies? There were foreign flags, angry speeches and ugly scenes. NumbersUSA's founder Roy Beck was even physically assaulted by a mob of SEIU-organized agitators! They are not asking for an amnesty, they are demanding one as an entitlement.

Go to Numbers USA for the details.

I want my free stuff

Now on to one of my favorite subjects that has been much neglected lately. There are more fires out there than just corrupt Lake Worth politics.

Conservative blogger, Scotty Starnes says,  "Thanks to the election of Barack Obama, parasites and criminals now feel empowered to demand freebies. With Obama’s illegal open border/stop deportation policies, US taxpayers will have 12 million more parasites to pay for. This only happens in America. No other countries allow criminals to openly live and mooch off their citizenry."

At CPAC last week, it was revealed that there are about 33 million illegals living in this country. No one really knows the exact number. We just know that they love Obama.

The Age of Obama

Comment Up

We are apparently working with the Mexican government to advertise that "food stamps" are just around the corner, or should I say on north of the border. This is immoral, insane and an insult to every legal immigrant who came to this land to work and enjoy the rule of law.

We now have people who expect something and an Obama administration desperately pandering for Mexican American votes by encouraging people to use those benefits. Put me down as a naturalized citizen who finds this appalling.  I can not believe that we've reached this point but we are living in the Age of Obama.

Section 8 housing in Lake Worth

Comment Up
Want to read about the Section 8 housing available in Lake Worth? Click here

What about expensive homes opening up to Section 8? Read about it here

This is the sort of thing that is bringing Lake Worth down. It is NOT the electric rates. It is NOT because we are a low-rise city. It certainly is NOT because of our beach redevelopment. It is not because of our beautiful 18 hole golf course on the Intracoastal Waterway. It is not because of our beautiful Bryant Park surrounded by and adjacent to Snook Islands. It is not because of our boat dock. It is not because of our vibrant downtown.

One of the top reasons, right next to Union costs,

is the government low-cost housing farce (that all those evil people as well as one-percenters who work for a living pay for) and whose recipients get interest free mortgages (while the rest of us sometimes struggle with two jobs to pay the interest on our debts).

Section 8, on the other hand, breeds takers from a government that sympathizes with socialism. The free shit is theirs for the taking. Some make much more money with their hands out than people who work.

This is the problem in Lake Worth and the problem in the nation as a whole. Until we have pride in ourselves, regain our morals, stop believing that we deserve the Mercedes in the garage or to own a house that we can't afford, strive to become hard-workers and put in a full days' work for a full-day's pay, we are in trouble.

We must become competitive, stop spending more than we can handle, educate our citizens and end the coddling of the illegal alien, create jobs and stop off-shoring them, give tax breaks to American businesses that create jobs, end wealth transfers to foreign countries, cease subsidizing foreign companies to manufacture in America for their benefit and their profit, this country will stay an entitlement mentality and never rise above it with the working class getting smaller and smaller and our quality of life diminishing beyond our imagination.

A Ford Dealer's Report - From Tom Selkis' (Latham Ford) Facebook -

True story yesterday at the dealership. "I'll try to make this as short and to the point as I can.

One of my salesmen here had a woman in his office yesterday wanting to lease a brand new Focus. As he was reviewing her credit application with her he noticed she was on social security disability. He said to her you don't look like you're disabled and unable to work. She said well I'm really not. I could work if I wanted to, but I make more now than I did when I was working and got hurt (non-disabling injury).

She said the government sends her $1500.00 a month in one check. And she gets $700.00 a month on an EBT card (food stamps), and $800.00 a month for rent. Oh yeah, and 250 minutes free on her phone. That is just south of $3500.00 a month. When she was working, she was taking home about $330.00 per week.

Do the math and then ask yourself why the hell should she go back to work. If you multiply that by millions of people, you start to realize the scope of the problem we face as a country. Once the socialists have 51% of the population in that same scenario, we are finished. The question is, when do we cross that threshold if we haven't already, and there are not enough people working to pay enough taxes to support the non-working people? Riots?? Be prepared to protect your homes.

She didn't lease the Focus here because the dealer down the road beat our deal by $10.00/month. Glad to know she is so frugal with her hard earned money."

Note:  This tale was unverified but it sure does make a valid point.

Disposable Income and Welfare programs

Click to read--

Almost all welfare programs have Web sites where you can call up "benefits calculators." Just plug in your income and family size and, presto, your benefits are automatically calculated. The chart is quite revealing. A one-parent family of three making $14,500 a year (minimum wage) has more disposable income than a family making $60,000 a year. And if that wasn't enough, here is one that will blow your mind: If the family provider works only one week a month at minimum wage, he or she makes 92 percent as much as a provider grossing $60,000 a year. Lindsey Graham on Benghazi

The Minority Hispanic Vote

Comment Up

Although some conservatives are backing down on illegal immigration because of the Obama win, here is what Facebook member Charles Edward Brown said a few days ago:
The people of the United States have not learned anything since 1986. We tried Amnesty for the over 3 million illegal aliens living in the US at that time. Promises were made about border security. We were told it would be against the law to even hire an illegal alien. In 2012 we have over 11 million illegal aliens living and working in the United States. Our Federal Government has continued to fail to enforce the law for over 25 years. Now they want Amnesty again. We need to say NO AMNESTY. Lets try enforcing the law for the next 25 years and see what the results are. Deport all illegal aliens, secure the border and fine anyone who hires an illegal. That is the law.
Even Marco Rubio said, “It’s really hard to get people to listen to you on economic growth, on tax rates, on health care if they think you want to deport their grandmother.”

Five months before the general election, Obama made a decision that undocumented immigrants brought to America as children and who meet certain qualifications will be eligible to apply for a two-year work permit and avoid deportation.  This is something that should have been debated in Congress. It wasn't. It was all pandering to the Hispanic vote.

This decision regrettably does not secure our borders. It does not discourage employers from hiring undocumented immigrants. It does not deal with those who over-stay their VISAs. It does not deal with the millions of undocumented immigrants who entered this country as adults.  All it does is ensure Obama and the Democratic Party another minority vote.

In his first election, Obama was hell bent on uniting the red and blue states. In this election it was all about division--the haves and the have nots in a country that is now made up of minorities. 47% of the populous is on entitlements. Obama got 80% of that vote.

On the eve of a visit by Mexican President-elect Enrique Peña Nieto, yesterday the White House promised that President Barack Obama “will be pressing for action” in Congress on comprehensive immigration reform and regards that goal as “achievable,” according to Yahoo News.

We do need immigration reform but to ignore our laws and compromise the health and welfare of the United States just for the Hispanic vote is bad policy.

The Fiscal Cliff and Unemployment Benefits

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, last year, the median annual household income was $50,054, down 1.5 percent from 2010. It has now fallen back to the level it was in 1996. This is shrinking the middle class as an income group. Obama wants to save the middle class, then he needs to create jobs.

Milking the System

Comment Up

The world is facing an economic paradox in which many countries are witnessing high and rising unemployment. As we try to improve the plight of the 99 percenters and the 23 million workers who are unemployed in the U.S., we then learn of Hunting Deutsch.

"Hunting Deutsch, executive director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, received more than $25,000 of unemployment benefits for 91 weeks between 2009 and 2011 -- eight weeks shy of the maximum at the time of 99 weeks of benefits...just pocket change to him.

The Panhandle banker who owns two homes in Florida worth more than $1.1 million, traveled to Europe often while he was receiving benefits and told The Florida Current this month that he “didn’t need to work.” He was hired to head DEO, a state agency with more than 2,000 employees, in April 2012 at an annual salary of $140,000."

Deutsch is within his rights but... Perhaps the majority of people do want to milk that cow. He is one of the reasons why people are so angry at the 1 percenters and why Obama wants a "fair" playing field even though taxing the wealthy more won't help one iota.

Quote of the Day - Shanon Materio

Comment Up
"Who has oversight over the Ethics Commission?...I'm struggling with this...it almost feels like the Ethics Commission has an assumption of guilt, and sometimes we take these things too far."

~ Shanon Materio, West Palm Beach City Commissioner

The West Palm Beach and County Commissions are used to the "free lunch" just like all city/county  commissions across the country. So, nothing new here. But their travel and fun stuff included their spouses or "significant other" with the City and/or County picking up the tab. Even the Mayor of West Palm Beach, Jeri Muoio questioned whether the Ethics Commission understood the "nitty gritty" effect it could have on people by the Commission coming down this hard if they can't pad the system.

The Palm Beach County Ethics Commission  said, "no, no. no." Spouses and family members of County and City employees should not be able to stay in hotels on the taxpayer's dime if that hotel charges more for a double occupancy nor should they be able to receive reward credits on their personal credit cards for work-related educational and fun stuff.

Elected officials just LOVE that free lunch. If it benefits them in some way, they are all for spending taxpayer money. Some elected officials will even go so far as to stop democracy--stop the people's right to vote on how their city should look but they sure like that taxpayer paid martini.
