You've heard of a snake in the grass? We have a group of treacherous people in this city who enjoy the sport of  attacking, twisting points and calling people names such as "terrorist" or "sociopath" just for expressing a view. Some of these people are in leadership roles. It is no wonder Lake Worth is in the shape it is in. They prefer to do that and steam roll over anyone with a different view than just debate/explain issues or in the case of this commission, be honest with the people they serve. That would be way too exhausting. Overall, they may have the support of their fellow "snakes in the grass" but it's all a matter of time when they are eventually left at the bottom of the rung.

But this is a literal "snake in the grass" and this Egret enjoyed his prize.

Great Egret: Large, white heron with yellow eyes. Bill is yellow, may appear orange when breeding. Black legs and feet. Long feather plumes extend from the back to beyond the tail during breeding season. Feeds on fish, frogs, insects, snakes and crayfish. Bouyant direct flight on steady wing beats.

This Great Egret is a little smaller than the one that normally comes over to visit from the Lake. On this side of the street, he can find Anolis (Anoles) to eat. They wait for their prey to come to them and then spear them with their long beak, swallowing them whole.

An Anole was the cause of my air conditioning being out over Christmas. It shorted out my system. Karri Casper came through for me on Christmas Eve (thank you Karri) and gave me the name of an air conditioning company but fortunately my roofer discovered the cause and I am "cool" again.

Before going out earlier this evening, this guy was walking across the parking lot. He was looking at me out of the corner of his eye the entire time I was stalking him. I couldn't get too close but got closer than I expected. Maybe he's getting used to getting his photo taken. He's one of the reasons that life is so much fun and really worth living on Lake Osborne Drive (where our property values have fallen so much that the city is ticked off).
