Ben Franklin Exhibit at the Smithsonian

Smithsonian Director Said She Has Zero Regrets After Getting Caught Smearing Ben Franklin With No Proof

The Smithsonian already stood accused of turning America's history museum into a woke propaganda machine. Then one exhibit about Ben Franklin walked into a House hearing and detonated everything.

What the Smithsonian said about him left even the room speechless. A Heritage Foundation researcher stood in front of the House Oversight Committee and pulled the pin. He told lawmakers about a Smithsonian display called The Electric Dr. Franklin.

The exhibit ran at the National Museum of American History from 2021 to 2025. Its subtitle asked visitors to consider "Enslaved People in Franklin's Research." The museum's own text admits it has no proof this ever happened.

"Indentured servants and enslaved people in his household could also have been used," the exhibit states, before admitting the museum may never know if that's true. That is not history. That is a smear dressed up in a museum placard.

Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez asked lawmakers why anyone would smear a Founding Father like Franklin over something so bizarre and unprovable.

Franklin spent his final years as president of the Pennsylvania Society for the Abolition of Slavery. He personally petitioned Congress to end slavery in America.

Historian Ken Burns Says America Has Endured Worse Divisions

Historian Ken Burns used the July Fourth holiday weekend to deliver an unexpectedly optimistic message

He argued that America’s current political divisions are neither unique nor insurmountable despite the nation’s deeply polarized climate

Speaking with MS NOW’s Jonathan Capehart during a special marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Burns urged Americans to view today’s challenges through the broader sweep of U.S. history and warned against what he called “narcissistic Chicken Little” thinking about the country’s future.

When asked what gives him the greatest hope for America’s future, Burns looked to the nation’s past, arguing that some of its darkest and most divisive chapters ultimately demonstrate its resilience.

“We were way more divided during the Revolution, way more divided during the Civil War, way more divided in the period after the Civil War, Reconstruction, way more divided during Vietnam,” Burns said.

He argued that Americans too often view the present as the nation’s darkest period, overlooking the far deeper crises the country has endured throughout its history.

“I think we have to stop the kind of narcissistic Chicken Little, ‘Oh, this is the worst time ever,'” Burns said.

Our Nation's History is a Legacy to be defended

DeSantis says founders rejected the left’s ideas at Mount Rushmore

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis spent July 4 at Mount Rushmore, where he joined the holiday atmosphere around Trump’s speech and the fireworks show. During a conversation with Sean Hannity on FOX News, DeSantis focused on the country’s founding and said the American system has lasted far beyond what history usually expects.

He said the Founding Fathers understood how fragile republics can be. In his view, they built something designed to stand the test of time. He argued that the core American idea still matters now, especially when modern politics keeps pushing bigger government and softer limits on power.

DeSantis put it plainly:
  • “250 years — if you think about it, republics are not supposed to last that long.”
  • “When the founding fathers set forth these important principles, they knew that all these republics in history had failed and they were trying to confound history.”
  • “And what they laid down were enduring truths.”
  • “Our rights either come from God or the government.”
  • “If they come from God that’s it, there is no more debate about it.”
  • “Government’s either got to be limited or not. If it is, then we always have to have limited government.”
He then turned to the modern left and singled out Zohran Mamdani as part of what he sees as a larger trend.
“And when I see the Mamdani’s of the world, they’re basically offering these ideas, they claim they are progressive, they’re really regressive.”

Republican Party

The People’s Party

It all started with people who opposed slavery. They were common, everyday people who bristled at the notion that men had any right to oppress their fellow man.

In the early 1850’s, these anti-slavery activists found commonality with rugged individuals looking to settle in western lands, free of government charges. “Free soil, free labor, free speech, free men,” went the slogan.

And it was thus in joint opposition to human enslavement and government tyranny that an enterprising people gave birth to the Republican Party.

In 1856, the Republicans became a national party by nominating John C. Fremont for President. Four years later, with the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860, the Republicans firmly established themselves as a major political party.

The name “Republican” was chosen because it alluded to equality and reminded individuals of Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic-Republican Party.

Greenland, some history

Denmark Surrendered Greenland Once; It Should Do It Again

Greenland did not drift into American stewardship by accident. It arrived there because Denmark dropped it. That fact is routinely obscured by euphemism and sentiment, but it is the hinge on which the entire moral and legal argument turns.

In April 1940, Denmark was occupied by Nazi Germany. Copenhagen fell in hours. Its government capitulated and chose accommodation over resistance. Danish state institutions continued to function under German supervision, cooperating administratively and economically with the occupying power. Its armed forces stood down.

And its far-flung colony in the Arctic was abruptly severed from the metropole. No money. No ships. No defense. No instructions. Denmark did not merely lose control of Greenland. It relinquished it, while collaborating under and alongside a hostile regime, in every way that matters.

This is not a rhetorical flourish. Sovereignty is not a feeling. It is a bundle of responsibilities. Defense, finance, and foreign relations are the core of that bundle. When a state permanently abandons those functions over a territory, sovereignty becomes an empty word.

In 1940, Denmark did exactly that. It could not defend Greenland. It could not finance Greenland. It could not communicate with Greenland in any reliable way. And worse, it had placed itself under the effective control of a hostile power.

Greenland, however, did not follow Denmark down that path. Unlike Copenhagen, Greenland refused to recognize Nazi authority. Its local officials rejected German claims and treated Denmark’s capitulation as legally and morally irrelevant to the island’s future. Faced with isolation and an existential threat, Greenland’s leaders chose alignment with the only power capable of protecting them.

In April 1941, months before Pearl Harbor and before the U.S. formally entered the war, Greenland signed an agreement with the United States placing its defense under American protection. This was one of America’s first forward defense commitments of WWII.

Fox Nation offers a chance to witness history as it unfolded

not how it was scripted and as Lawrence Jones put it, “This series is incredible.” And he’s right—seeing the unfiltered reality cuts through the noise of agenda-driven reporting.

Fox Nation unveils exclusive footage of Trump rally incident in Butler

Brace yourself for a chilling glimpse into a dark moment in American politics as Fox Nation drops never-before-seen footage of an assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a campaign rally.

This gripping content, part of the series "Art of the Surge: The Donald Trump Comeback," captures the chaos of that fateful day in Butler, Pennsylvania, at the Butler Farm Show Inc., alongside behind-the-scenes looks at Trump’s campaign and administration, Fox News reported.

On July 13, 2024, a shocking attempt was made on Trump’s life as he spoke to a crowd of supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania. The raw terror of the moment is now revealed through drone footage showing the Secret Service scrambling to protect him.

What stands out is how this content humanizes a figure often demonized by opponents pushing divisive cultural agendas. The fear on attendees’ faces in Butler, the resolve in Trump’s reflections—these are real, not scripted talking points.

Liberals Eradicating our History

Democrats are pleased with incinerating Robert E. Lee Statute

Robert E. Lee statue melted in secret ceremony, to be remade into 'inclusive' public artwork

The statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee in downtown Charlottesville has not only been torn down but also melted down in a secret ceremony. The Confederate statue was removed following the 2017 Charlottesville riot and will now be replaced with public artwork that is more "inclusive."

The Washington Post reported that the Robert E. Lee statue was "being cut into fragments and dropped into a furnace, dissolving into a sludge of glowing bronze."

The outlet reported that the destruction of the Confederate monument was done in secrecy – the name and location of the foundry were not revealed to the public for fear of retribution. The group transforming the Confederate statue said they have already been the victims of "past threats."

Historical monuments of any country reflect the history of the country, and that is why the government of every country try their best to save their monuments from any kinds of issues. But not with the cancel culture so prevalent in our country...hell bent on destroying everything they don't like...erasing history and our past as if it never existed.

Trump was all in favor of protecting and preserving our monuments and statutes.

Michelle

Since there is scuttlebut about Michelle Obama running in 2024 (de facto Barack Obama), here is a video of her where she did NOT know her history. The Founding Fathers were all Americans but she explained at a naturalization ceremony that the Founding Fathers were “Americans-by-choice” just like the newly declared citizens.

Judge says, "Philadelphia has a fiduciary duty to preserve that statue"

Freedom! Judge Forces Philly to Remove Giant Box Covering Columbus Statue

One of the most obvious giveaways of the communist insurgents driving the fake Black Lives Matter riots of 2020 was the destruction of statues. History always starts at “Year Zero” with the communists. In order to successfully overthrow a nation, they have to destroy its institutions and its history.

That means tearing down statues and pretty buildings, so that once everything starts falling apart under communism, hopefully, no one will remember that the old system built by other people actually worked better. Fortunately, we have some good news to report on that front out of Philadelphia.

Ultra-progressive Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney came up with a novel solution in 2020 when BLM activists wanted to tear down the city’s statue of Christopher Columbus. He put a big, ugly cardboard box over the statue. Problem solved!

Groups of Italian Americans sued the city to prevent the removal of the statue. The judge finally ruled in the case against the city and went even further than that.

NO LGBTQ History month in Miami schools

Miami-Dade school board rejects plan to make October LGBTQ History month

Florida district voted 8-1 against a measure that would have seen 12th-graders learning about key supreme court LGBTQ decisions

The Miami-Dade school board overwhelming decided against recognizing October as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer History month, which included a measure to teach 12th-graders about two supreme court cases affecting the LGBTQ community.

Parents, teachers and students spoke for more than three hours on Wednesday, with one group citing indoctrination of students and the other speaking about how Nazis ostracized gays and lesbians with a pink triangle. The board then voted 8-1 against the measure, which was proffered by board member Lucia Baez Geller.

The Miami-Dade public school system is the nation’s fourth largest, with 331,500 students.

Cancel Culture going too far--Trying to Erase our History

Lawmakers Push To Take Medals From Fallen American Soldiers

Just how much more of this cancel culture do we need to take?

Representatives propose to revoke Medals of Honor given to American soldiers who took part in the infamous 1890 Wounded Knee Massacre, which claimed the lives of 250 Native Americans, chiefly women and children.

As an addition to the fiscal 2023 military policy law, legislation was passed last week to take back the medals, which are the country's highest decoration for bravery. Similar attempts have been made in the past, but during compromises between the House and Senate versions of the law, they were finally abandoned.

Twenty members of the 7th U.S. Calvary Regiment received Medals of Honor for their participation in the Dec. 29, 1890 massacre on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, close to Wounded Knee Creek.

And Democrats want to take their medals away from an event of 132 years ago for an act that was done by the United States Military. Yes, it was a horrible massacre. A lot of the Lakota's guns had been taken away and they could not defend themselves. So, watch out Patriots, the current administration wants your guns too!

Democrats at it again--Tearing down Statutes and now Desecrating a Grave

Dem officials cook up plan to obliterate memorial above grave of Confederate before digging him up

You can't believe the revulsion I feel after reading about this. Democrats have no idea yet what they will do with the body but they are talking to family.

The City of Richmond, Virginia, is currently finalizing plans to disinter the remains of Gen. Ambrose Powell "A.P." Hill and to tear down the monument that honors his life. WRIC-TV reported that, under the orders from city officials, including millennial Democratic Mayor Levar Stoney, Hill will be dug up and erased from the city’s collective memory.

And Democrats wonder why the rest of us can't stand them!

Read about this desecration. We need to respect history while not necessarily endorsing the beliefs of those who helped make it.

Biden on the road to Cancel America

Biden Cancels Trump’s 1776 Commission That Promotes American Founding Values

Biden, believing that the 1776 Commission is oooh..."racist," sought to erase America’s history of what Lefties believe is racial injustice. Biden signs executive order.

The 1776 report specifically calls out historian Howard Zinn and the 1619 Project for preventing students from seeing the humanity, goodness, and benevolence in America’s historical figures. Young readers are instead being presented with a distorted version of U.S. history, according to the 1776 report.

But Biden's arm was twisted to rescind Trump's order and there will be many more to follow. Colleges and universities will be free to teach their racist and false revisionist propaganda.

Omari Hardy does not want to honor or celebrate Columbus Day

Tomorrow, September 15, the Lake Worth City Commission will be meeting on Zoom at 6pm.

Omari Hardy will attempt to be the "star" once again--

NEW BUSINESS:
All of these discussions are important but Item C is the liberal lefty Omari's sticking it to our history once again.

A. Discussion about how the Commission will fill the District 2 seat (no backup provided)
B. Discussion on how to reduce speeding on Lake and Lucerne Avenues (no backup provided)
C. Resolution stating that the City will not honor nor celebrate Columbus Day and that it will instead honor and celebrate Indigenous People's Day (Resolution will be provided by Commissioner Hardy)

Columbus Day is a U.S. holiday that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus in the Americas in 1492, and Columbus Day 2020 is on Monday, October 12. It was unofficially celebrated in a number of cities and states as early as the 18th century but did not become a federal holiday until 1934 under Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

There are now several states that do not celebrate Columbus Day and Washington, D.C's council a year ago voted to replace it with Indigenous Peoples' Day in a temporary move that it hopes to make permanent.

In 2017, after someone vandalized the Christopher Columbus statue in New York City's Central Park, the then-president and chief operating officer of the National Italian American Foundation, John M. Viola, wrote in a New York Times editorial,

"The 'tearing down of history' does not change that history. In the wake of the cultural conflict that has ripped us apart over these months, I wonder if we as a country can't find better ways to utilize our history to eradicate racism instead of inciting it. Can't the monuments and holidays born of our past be re-imagined to represent new values for our future?" [NPR]

Well, Omari wants to "tear down" Columbus Day. He loves being a radical and being divisive; it makes his day. Just leave it alone Commissioner.

History is Important -- Pathetic Pandering Pelosi

Pelosi Joins the Mob, Calls for 11 DC Statues To Fall

The radical leftist movement that has toppled statues across America has gained a major ally in our nation’s capital.

Responding to the mobs, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said there are 11 Confederate statues currently standing in the U.S. Capitol Building that she wants removed. [WesternJournal.com]

People such as she should not be in power.

This is important history in the United States that helped shape the world in which we live. Republicans prevailed and freed our country of slavery. History teaches us to move forward, recognize our mistakes and learn from them, and ultimately create a better existence for all. Until this moment in time, we all understood this. Now we have anarchists controlling elected officials who are bowing down to them, even allowing them to take over six city blocks using guns.

Hopefully, the actions of the moment will be remembered in November and Democrats are voted out.
