Mamdani Won’t Rule Out Cash Reparations For New Yorkers

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is leaving the door wide open to taxpayer-funded reparations for slavery in America’s largest city.

The democratic socialist mayor refused to rule out cash payments when pressed during an interview with The Root’s Charles Blow, instead saying he would wait for the recommendations of an ongoing city study.

Blow asked Mamdani directly whether he would support cash reparations if the commission endorsed them.

“First, I want to say that I stand by what I submitted. It’s the truth. It’s not a personal assessment,” Mamdani responded, according to an official City Hall transcript.

“We often think about slavery and the complicity in slavery as being exclusively to certain geographic areas of the country,” he continued. “Here in New York City, we were very complicit. And so I look forward to whatever those findings are.”

Smithsonian Director Said She Has Zero Regrets After Getting Caught Smearing Ben Franklin With No Proof

The Smithsonian already stood accused of turning America's history museum into a woke propaganda machine.Then one exhibit about Ben Franklin walked into a House hearing and detonated everything.

What the Smithsonian said about him left even the room speechless. A Heritage Foundation researcher stood in front of the House Oversight Committee and pulled the pin. He told lawmakers about a Smithsonian display called The Electric Dr. Franklin.

The exhibit ran at the National Museum of American History from 2021 to 2025. Its subtitle asked visitors to consider "Enslaved People in Franklin's Research." The museum's own text admits it has no proof this ever happened.

"Indentured servants and enslaved people in his household could also have been used," the exhibit states, before admitting the museum may never know if that's true. That is not history. That is a smear dressed up in a museum placard.

Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez asked lawmakers why anyone would smear a Founding Father like Franklin over something so bizarre and unprovable.

Franklin spent his final years as president of the Pennsylvania Society for the Abolition of Slavery. He personally petitioned Congress to end slavery in America.

In a speech at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority National Convention on Thursday, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that Republican “extremists” in the state of Florida are pushing schools to teach students that slaves “benefited from slavery.” This, however, is an inaccurate message.

Rather than actually pushing Florida schools to teach such an egregious misrepresentation of slavery, the Florida State Board of Education approved standards that would instead inform students that some slaves employed skills, such as carpentry, tailoring, or blacksmithing, for their own personal benefit. In addition, the standards emphasize the injustice endemic of slavery at the time.

The Vice President also claimed that “many of our hard-won freedoms” were “under full-on attack” from Republicans. Unfortunately, this is just another example of liberals using the emotionally charged buzzwords to incite further division and distraction away from the policies that matter.

Report charges Hunter Biden has links to Chinese slave-labor industry

Hunter Biden-Linked Firm Is Quietly Connected to Forced Labor

A business linked to President Biden’s controversial son has been investing in a Chinese company that supplies slave labor camps. The state-owned business makes a specialist film used on cotton plantations in the Xinjiang region. Those plantations are a mixture of high-tech methods and 19th-Century exploitation.

“Sinopec’s involvement in this global human rights abuse comes amidst the president’s son retaining financial ties to the Chinese Communist Party-linked company,” War Room said. “Sinopec Capital is the clean energy investment arm of the Sinopec Group, a Chinese Communist Party-run oil and gas enterprise whose ‘fully-owned subsidiary’ Sinopec Marketing Company enjoyed nearly $1 billion in investment from Hunter Biden’s private equity firm BHR Partners.”

Hunter Biden reportedly still owns a 10% stake in BHR Partners, which highlights online its participation in the Sinopec work.

At Rightwing.org, a report bluntly said Joe Biden’s son “has been investing in a Chinese company that supplies slave labor camps.”

Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” shares a clip of Disney’s “The Proud Family” going full woke indoctrination by questioning if Abraham Lincoln really freed the slaves and making the case for reparations with the “slaves built this country” musical number.

The recently released Disney+ episode of "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder" is receiving backlash over a rap featuring children singing about slavery and reparations. The song's lyrics argue that America has failed to adequately atone for its history of prejudice, racism, and White supremacy and therefore "owes" Black Americans.

The rap also promotes the idea that President Abraham Lincoln did not actually free the slaves. Manhattan Institute fellow Christ Rufo shared a clip of the episode on Twitter, calling it "pure critical race theory."

Bill to stop American companies from using slave labor in China

Senate Bill Will Stop US Companies From Using Chinese Slave Labor

A bipartisan group of senators introduced a bill that would stop U.S. companies from relying on Chinese slave labor.

Introduced by Sens. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) and Jeff Merkley (D., Ore.), the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act would require companies to ensure forced labor is not used in their supply chains. It would also direct federal departments to produce a strategy for cutting Chinese forced labor out of the U.S. supply chain.

On December 23, 2021, President Biden signed into law the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, a bipartisan bill to ensure that goods made with forced labor in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China do not enter the United States market. Rubio is the author of the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2020 (P.L. 116-145), the first piece of legislation regarding Uyghurs in the world to be signed into law.

Up to one million members of the Uyghur ethnic minority have been placed in “re-education camps” in Western China, and many Uyghurs are trafficked across the country into forced labor programs.

Ignorant University students protesting Abraham Lincoln

Know-nothing activists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison protested Christopher Columbus and now Abraham Lincoln. The university should be deeply embarrassed.

Aren't they teaching history in the schools anymore?  Why are many of our kids so damn dumb? These activists want a disclaimer installed saying that Lincoln owned slaves.  They are educationally challenged and have no business being in an institute of higher learning. Perhaps some blame should be attributed to the K-12 curriculum.
