Know-nothing activists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison protested Christopher Columbus and now Abraham Lincoln. The university should be deeply embarrassed.
Aren't they teaching history in the schools anymore? Why are many of our kids so damn dumb? These activists want a disclaimer installed saying that Lincoln owned slaves. They are educationally challenged and have no business being in an institute of higher learning. Perhaps some blame should be attributed to the K-12 curriculum.

You can't compare the culture then to ours today. Thanks to Abraham Lincoln, slavery ended in this country at a very high cost...620,000 American lives.
