OpenAI under Scrutiny

Microsoft investment in OpenAI under scrutiny from FTC and UK watchdog

The United States and United Kingdom's consumer watchdogs have both turned their gaze toward Microsoft's $10 billion investment in ChatGPT developer OpenAI over the possibility that it runs afoul of antitrust law.

The Federal Trade Commission and the U.K.-based Competitions and Markets Authority are both initiating investigations into Microsoft's investments in OpenAI, according to Bloomberg. The FTC's inquiry is preliminary, according to staffers involved. The CMA stated on Friday that it is gathering information from stakeholders to determine if the partnership will stifle competition.

Microsoft's investment in OpenAI has been notably successful, allowing it to add the innovative chatbot to several services, including Bing and the web browser Edge. However, the fact both agencies are pursuing this investigation concurrently reveals a strong interest in whether OpenAI's market prominence could be viewed as anti-competitive.

Elon Musk has sounded the alarm on Microsoft and its artificial intelligence plans

Elon Musk Claims Microsoft Working on Actual Skynet AI to Govern “Every Aspect” of Human Life

Elon Musk, always being one who wants more liberty and not less, took the chance to call out Microsoft’s purported AGI goals.

Microsoft’s new Maia A.I. chip is set to be the cornerstone of Microsoft’s A.I. infrastructure and aims to bring artificial generalized intelligence to “every facet” of our lives.

Artificial generalized intelligence (AGI) differs from the isolated A.I. applications and language models we have all seen and heard about now in that it represents actual intelligence.

Ahead of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s four days in exile, several staff researchers wrote a letter to the board of directors warning of a powerful artificial intelligence discovery that they said could threaten humanity, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The previously unreported letter and AI algorithm were key developments before the board's ouster of Altman, the poster child of generative AI, the two sources said. Prior to his triumphant return late Tuesday, more than 700 employees had threatened to quit and join backer Microsoft (MSFT.O) in solidarity with their fired leader.

Cyber Threats and Digital Security now at risk

China-Based Hackers Impersonated US Voters With AI-generated Propaganda During 2022 Elections: Microsoft

And President Biden sought to downplay friction with China while in Vietnam

Know thy enemy!

China-based hackers impersonated American voters online and used artificial intelligence (AI) to create and promote divisive online content during the 2022 midterm elections, according to a report by Microsoft.

The effort was part of a series of covert influence operations by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intended to mimic U.S. voters from across the political spectrum and create controversy along racial, economic, and ideological lines, according to the Sept. 7 report.

“Ahead of the 2022 U.S. midterms, Microsoft and industry partners observed CCP-affiliated social media accounts impersonating U.S. voters—new territory for CCP-affiliated [influence operations],” the report reads.

The Report

Beginning in May 2023, Storm-0558, a China-based threat actor, accessed Microsoft customer email accounts of approximately 25 organizations including U.S. and European government entities. Microsoft assesses this activity was likely conducted for espionage purposes and has successfully blocked this campaign.

Microsoft ties to Communist China

Microsoft’s LinkedIn Censors Post of Peter Schweizer’s ‘Red-Handed’ Criticizing Big Tech Ties to China

Microsoft-owned LinkedIn censored a Breitbart News story containing a book excerpt from Red-Handed, Peter Schweizer’s new bombshell investigation into American elites’ ties to communist china, one that focused specifically on Big Tech’s ties to the communist regime.

Now Linkedin is censoring posts that expose Big Tech’s own links to the authoritarian regime in China. Microsoft, which owns Linkedin, is exposed in Schweizer’s book for working with the Chinese military on artificial intelligence research.

Microsoft Poll I took last night

Click to read--
Methodology
The Microsoft News Poll uses online surveys, delivered to a random sample of likely voters, to produce statistically valid results. Each day we analyze 1,500 responses nationwide using tools from polling firm CivicScience. Microsoft Research then analyzes the results to model how demographic groups answered each question, based on age, gender, race, education, location, and party identification. Answers are then projected onto the estimated distribution of those demographic groups in the likely voting population. The method is as accurate as traditional polling methods.

Tech Giants censoring Conservative publishers

Microsoft joins the leftist crusade to silence patriot publishers

"Conservative publishers have been shadow-banned by Twitter, had our accounts deleted by Facebook, and dropped so far in Google searches that you will typically find us nowhere near the first search page," says Thomas Madison of Powdered Wig.

Read about it... YOUR WON'T BELIEVE IT!!! and what they have done. Now Microsoft, the tech giant, has joined the crusade to punish and censor patriot publishers by featuring a NewsGuard plugin with its Edge browser where THEY tell you what is and what isn't FAKE NEWS.

News is being censored by the liberal media. And the President is right but perhaps he  needs to add Google, Twitter, Facebook and Microsoft to his "enemies of the people" list.

NSA has access to our computers through our operating system

The NSA has had the ability to track us since Windows 95. Windows was released in 1995 and probably you, like me, have had most of the upgraded operating systems since that time. And just like any software, it just gets more sophisticated.

NSA gets backdoor access through some security features. Computer security specialists say that the Windows software driver used for security and encryption functions contains unusual features which give NSA that backdoor access. Read more at WND.
