Fane Lozman back in the news

Fane Lozman Ordered to Remove his Floating  Home from Lake Worth Lagoon for RHA Violations

It's amazing that the government continues to pursue this guy. Haven't heard much about him in years but the government, when it wants its way, is relentless. Back in 2018, Fane Lozman got his second win against Riviera Beach from U.S. Supreme Court to keep his houseboat there...he owns the land and what's underneath it.

So, six years later, because Riviera Beach's nose has been out of joint, it is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Jacksonville District and the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division coming after him with determination to win.

Fane Lozman harassed once again!

It's amazing that government continues to pursue this guy. Haven't heard much about him in years but the government, when it wants its way, is relentless.

Fane Lozman being sued by Department of Justice

Lozman says he's done nothing wrong and the home made from a metal shipping container is a floating residential structure rather than a permanent structure and he can legally have it there.

"We're on private property. The Army Corps is wrong. The Justice Department is wrong and they think they're gonna intimidate me," Lozman said.

He says he's ready for a legal fight.

Activists Sue Palm Beach County for violating Public Meetings Laws

Comment Up
Alex Larson

Back about five years ago, our Lake Worth mayor wanted to limit or eliminate public comment during workshops. As she said then, "It is a workshop and this is the only time that the Commission can get things done." Since that time, the public has not been allowed to speak at Workshops.

The policy in Lake Worth on public commentary regarding items on the Consent Agenda (which is a section that should be used for housekeeping items) that sometimes can be upwards to 16 separate items involving a lot of money is two minutes for one or all items. Many items are dumped into this section so that they get little to no discussion.  This is another decision made by Pam Triolo to shut the public up.

Now two county residents, Fane Lozman, whose houseboat was seized by Riviera Beach and destroyed and Alex Larson, (love this lady) are suing  Palm Beach County where they get three minutes to speak on regular agenda items but now are being limited to three minutes total for all on the Consent Agenda.

Fane Lozman, unafraid

Comment Up

Fane Lozman used to have a floating home until the City of Riviera Beach played hardball and took his home and destroyed it. He had been leasing docking space at the Riviera Beach Marina.  Federal judges ruled in favor of Riviera Beach.  That did not stop Fane. He knew what was right and what wasn't and went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States and WON!

Now he's back in court today to select a jury. He will be his own lawyer and is suing Riviera Beach up to $1 million for violating his civil rights and the city's relentless punishment towards him for speaking out against a multi-million dollar development project on the waterfront. Freedom of speech is a right that is rapidly being squashed by local governments.

Fane Lozman in the News

Fane Lozman fought the City of Riviera Beach and won in the United States Supreme Court over corruption.  Big developers wanted to take over the city marina were he was moored. Now he is buying some submerged land off of Riviera Beach and wants to build a floating community.

Fighting City Hall

Comment Up

People wonder why so many residents in Lake Worth have thrown up their arms and have dropped out.  We like to believe that the good guys win but sometimes it takes a hunk of change and a big resolve to fight City Hall. The fight below is still going on in Riviera Beach

Fane Lozeman wins the battle but losing the war.

Fane Lozman Back in the News

Back in January 2012, I wrote about Fane Lozman and his pursuit for justice going all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court where he won against Riviera Beach.

Today, he is back in the news with the headline in today's paper:  Supreme court winner ready to try it again. He has already won twice in court and he says the local judges "are embarrassed...their egos can't handle that I've had them reversed two times."

Congratulations to Fane Lozman

Congratulations to Fane Lozman.  He is today's hero.

Do you remember him?  He was the one who leased a docking space at the Riviera Beach Marina. The City of Riviera Beach seized and then destroyed his home.  Federal judges ruled in favor of Riviera Beach.  That did not stop Lozman. He knew what was right and what wasn't and went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States and WON!

Read about it...and we think Lake Worth has troubles.
