They are upset over the haymaker this major corporation just threw at their environmental extremist agenda.
Some companies banked almost everything on the premise that electric vehicles would be the wave of the future.
But somehow most Americans still don’t drive an electric vehicle.
And now Democrats are going bananas over the haymaker this major corporation just threw at their environmental extremist agenda.
Hertz to offload its EV fleet.
In November, Hertz announced plans to offload 30,000 of its electric vehicles (EVs) by the end of 2024.
California’s Gas Car Ban: The Left’s Last Futile Stand Against Trump
The Biden administration, in what can only be described as a final “Hail Mary” to enforce its radical climate agenda, has weaponized the EPA to approve California’s infamous gas car sales ban.
This last-minute maneuver is conveniently timed just before President-elect Trump takes office, ensuring maximum chaos for the incoming administration and everyday Americans.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted California two waivers under the Clean Air Act, allowing the state to phase out gas-powered car sales by 2035. Of course, this affects far more than California.
Thanks to California’s self-appointed role as the de facto ruler of U.S. emissions policies, the other 17 states that blindly follow its lead—and effectively the entire country—are being dragged into this electrified dystopia.
This sweeping mandate doesn’t just target California; it will force automakers nationwide to cater to these rules since no car manufacturer can afford to design vehicles for just one state.
Democrats’ environmental extremist electric vehicle mandates appear to be going up in smoke
Between his sinking re-election campaign, failing Presidency, and obvious physical and cognitive decline, Joe Biden certainly has his hands full these days.
The last thing he needed was more bad news.
But Mercedes-Benz made one announcement that has Joe Biden coming completely unglued.
Few countries on Earth dove headfirst into left-wing environmental extremism quite like Germany, implementing bans and restrictions on nuclear and fossil fuel-powered energy that have proven to be absolutely disastrous for working-class Germans, and put the nation’s energy grid on the verge of collapsing at any moment.
Mercedes-Benz is just the latest in a long line of major corporations who are beginning to change their tune on electric vehicles.
And we know what Trump will do when elected again.
Behind EV Push, a Wealth Transfer From Red to Blue Regions
Federal electric vehicle mandates are being criticized as ‘class warfare’ with far reaching implications for certain parts of America.
President Joe Biden’s new EV mandates will likely prove to be a sizable wealth transfer from rural red regions of America to urban blue sections, and to wealthy Democrats who reside in them, according to reports.
On March 20, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized its tailpipe emissions rules for the auto industry starting in 2027.
These rules are the strictest in history and will effectively force carmakers to have one-third of new car sales be plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) by 2027 and more than two-thirds by 2032.
“This isn’t industrial policy,” Robert Bryce, author and energy analyst, told The Epoch Times. “In reality it’s a type of class warfare that will prevent low- and middle-income consumers from being able to afford new cars.”
And as many traditional car buyers struggle, the federal subsidies and incentives continue to flow, to the benefit of EV buyers.
The new EPA mandate is “aimed at accommodating a very narrow segment of the auto-buying public: wealthy, white Democrats who live in a handful of liberal communities,” Mr. Bryce said. “EV ownership is largely defined by class, ideology, and geography.”
Pete Buttigieg Ridiculed After Using Flawed Analogy to Chastise Skeptical Americans
This week, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made a flawed analogy on Fox News, ridiculing Americans for not purchasing expensive and environmentally harmful electric vehicles.
However, after the inept and elitist Buttigieg received criticism from Americans on social media, he was confronted with a harsh reality check. Buttigieg appeared on “America’s Newsroom” with John Roberts and Sandra Smith, where he faced embarrassment.
Roberts began by discussing the decline in Tesla sales and the significant layoffs at electric vehicle plants in the auto industry. After that, he shifted to questioning why the Biden administration persisted in promoting electric vehicles so aggressively.
Buttigieg countered by presenting EV data and ridiculing those who opposed EVs as being stuck in an outdated mindset, likening them to individuals who resisted the shift to cell phones in the early 2000s and preferred traditional landline phones.
Not only will the feds not stop a Chinese company that makes batteries for electric vehicles (Gotion) from setting up shop in Michigan, they will fork over $175 million of American taxpayer money to assist them.
The Treasury Department’s inter-agency Committee on Foreign Investment declared on Tuesday that the project was outside their authority to stop since it was unrelated to the Defense Production Act.
The ineptitude of the Biden administration is beyond belief!
Joe Biden Approves Chinese EV Battery Factory In Michigan – Taxpayers on Hook for a National Security Risk
"A federal panel will not stop a Chinese electric vehicle battery manufacturer from setting up shop in Michigan, where $175 million in state taxpayer dollars is being lavished on the project.
The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which is an interagency task force convened by the Treasury Department, said Tuesday that the project was not in its purview under the Defense Production Act, according to Fox News.
Fox reported that the corporate bylaws of the China-based parent company require the company to “carry out Party activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Communist Party of China.”
It's all about the money. Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has said the $2.4 billion project would bolster the state’s status as the “global hub of mobility and electrification."
Clean Energy Associates’ (CEA) “Energy Storage System Supplier Market Intelligence Report” asserts that the incentives offered by the Biden administration’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are the catalyst for the surge of the number of North American battery factories.
I must admit, this is the first electric vehicle I have seen from the Lake Worth fleet, a product of Biden's Green New Deal as seen at Walgreens this morning.
I stopped at Walgreens, 6th Avenue South and Dixie Highway. I met the new store manager, Maureen, and she is trying to stop the theft and keep the store safe for customers. She hired a security guard who stands inside near the entrance. And as soon as she sees a panhandler, she calls the sheriff.
I would have to believe that these electric vehicles are saving the city money. At least 40 U.S. states and the District of Columbia offer a credit and/or a rebate on hybrid or fully electric cars and Florida is among them.
Biden Needs to Be Pulled Out of Car, Then Something Fishy Happens - Was It a Disguise?
President Joe Biden visited the Detroit Auto Show on Wednesday and his appearance was full of his ever-present gaffes.
Most of the embarrassing moments centered around Biden’s brief time checking out a brand new orange Corvette. Specifically, the car was Chevrolet’s brand new 2023 Corvette Z06, WXYZ-TV reported. And Joe thought it was an electric car...it wasn't.
He was helped out of the car by a man who acted as if he was going to shake his hand but really was giving him a helping hand.
If you want to see the video on this, you will have to click this Twitter link as You Tube has edited out this scene on all its videos.
Poor Joe. He needs help with just running our country and understanding what the heck he is doing. Alowing an open border is globalist and it is treason. He stumbles up stairs, falls off his bike, shakes hands with invisible people, nearly falls off a stage. This "leader" is an accident waiting to happen. He jokingly said that he was going to drive the Corvette home. Thank God that was a joke!
California Takes Unprecedented Measure to Save Dying Electric Grid
Recently, there has been a lot of coverage devoted to California in the media and it would seem that none of it has been positive.
The majority of the issues that we have been observing can be attributed to the energy crisis that the state is currently facing. At the very least, California has battled with a burden on the electricity grid for the second year in a row, but if I’m not mistaken, the issue stretches back even farther than that.
For whatever reason, their electrical grid is constantly being overwhelmed. During the year 2019, the New York Post reported that an old man who was powerless without his oxygen machine passed away after the electricity in his home was cut off.
Read about it... and the "green" Governor's directive that all vehicles must be electric by 2035.
Here are the states that have signed on to California's vehicle standards and may be next to ban the sale of gas-powered cars:
New York
Massachusetts
Vermont
Maine
Washington
Connecticut
Oregon
New Jersey
Maryland
Delaware
Colorado
Rhode Island
Minnesota
New Mexico
Virginia
Nevada
Pennsylvania
“Whether or not these requirements (fully electric vehicles by 2030) are realistic or achievable is directly linked to external factors like inflation, charging and fuel infrastructure, supply chains, labor, critical mineral availability and pricing, and the ongoing semiconductor shortage,” said John Bozzella, the president and CEO of the Alliance for Automotive Innovation.
We just aren’t ready for so much clean energy, yet. Even now, experts are saying that the reason that Europe is undergoing an energy crisis is because of their green energy policies.
The Democrats' New Inflation Bill Includes Tax Credits for Electric Vehicles That Don't Exist
Even Democrats are criticizing the bill's unrealistic expectations
If that's the case, why did every single Democrat pass the bill?
After a marathon overnight session, the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act on a party-line vote Sunday. The bill apportions $740 billion for a grab bag of Democratic spending priorities in the name of combating inflation. One item on the list: tax credits for purchasing electric vehicles (EVs).
There's a problem: No cars exist that qualify for the credits.
The boldness of the Biden administration is sickening
After Trump, Biden obviously thinks he can get away with anything and everyone will look the other way. And actually they have!
So, it really is not all that surprising that he just tapped a failed program for $2.5 billion to pay off a staffer’s brother, who happens to be a lobbyist for an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer.
The utility companies have thus far had little to say about the alarming cost projections to operate electric vehicles (EVs) or the increased rates that they will be required to charge their customers. It is not just the total amount of electricity required, but the transmission lines and fast charging capacity that must be built at existing filling stations. Neither wind nor solar can support any of it. Electric vehicles will never become the mainstream of transportation!
The problems with electric vehicles (EVs), we showed that they were too expensive, too unreliable, rely on materials mined in China and other unfriendly countries, and require more electricity than the nation can afford. In this second part, we address other factors that will make any sensible reader avoid EVs like the plague. EV Charging Insanity.
In order to match the 2,000 cars that a typical filling station can service in a busy 12 hours, an EV charging station would require 600, 50-watt chargers at an estimated cost of $24 million and a supply of 30 megawatts of power from the grid. That is enough to power 20,000 homes. No one likely thinks about the fact that it can take 30 minutes to 8 hours to recharge a vehicle between empty or just topping off. What are the drivers doing during that time?
ICSC-Canada board member New Zealand-based consulting engineer Bryan Leyland describes why installing electric car charging stations in a city is impractical:
“If you’ve got cars coming into a petrol station, they would stay for an average of five minutes. If you’ve got cars coming into an electric charging station, they would be at least 30 minutes, possibly an hour, but let’s say its 30 minutes. So that’s six times the surface area to park the cars while they’re being charged. So, multiply every petrol station in a city by six. Where are you going to find the place to put them?”
The government of the United Kingdom is already starting to plan for power shortages caused by the charging of thousands of EVs. Starting in June 2022, the government will restrict the time of day you can charge your EV battery. To do this, they will employ smart meters that are programmed to automatically switch off EV charging in peak times to avoid potential blackouts.
In particular, the latest UK chargers will be pre-set to not function during 9-hours of peak loads, from 8 am to 11 am (3-hours), and 4 pm to 10 pm (6-hours). Unbelievably, the UK technology decides when and if an EV can be charged, and even allows EV batteries to be drained into the UK grid if required. Imagine charging your car all night only to discover in the morning that your battery is flat since the state took the power back. Better keep your gas-powered car as a reliable and immediately available backup! While EV charging will be an attractive source of revenue generation for the government, American citizens will be up in arms.
Used Car Market
The average used EV will need a new battery before an owner can sell it, pricing them well above used internal combustion cars. The average age of an American car on the road is 12 years. A 12-year-old EV will be on its third battery. A Tesla battery typically costs $10,000 so there will not be many 12-year-old EVs on the road. Good luck trying to sell your used green fairy tale electric car!
Tuomas Katainen, an enterprising Finish Tesla owner, had an imaginative solution to the battery replacement problem—he blew up his car! New York City-based Insider magazine reported (December 27,2021): “The shop told him the faulty battery needed to be replaced, at a cost of about $22,000. In addition to the hefty fee, the work would need to be authorized by Tesla…
Rather than shell out half the cost of a new Tesla to fix an old one, Katainen decided to do something different… The demolition experts from the YouTube channel Pommijätkät (Bomb Dudes) strapped 66 pounds of high explosives to the car and surrounded the area with slow-motion cameras…the 14 hotdog-shaped charges erupt into a blinding ball of fire, sending a massive shock wave rippling out from the car…The videos of the explosion have a combined 5 million views.
REVEALED: Driving An Electric Car May The Worst Thing You Can Do For The Environment!
In a column highlighted by Powerline blogger John Hinderaker, engineer and energy expert Ronald Stein examines the source of the power and the materials in batteries. He concludes EVs are bad for the environment, and serious ethical questions are raised by the conditions under which the materials are mined.
Stein argues in a column titled "Is it ethical to purchase a lithium battery powered EV?" that entire mountains are eliminated by just one lithium supply mine.
Of all the crazy policies we see implemented around us, from decriminalizing theft to teaching children to change their “gender,” perhaps the craziest is government’s determination to force us to drive electric vehicles. EVs like the Tesla are perfectly fine cars, or would be if they weren’t subsidized or mandated. But they are terrible for the environment, and the conditions under which their materials are mined raise serious ethical questions. [powerlineblog]
The city of Lake Worth Beach has 4 public charging station ports (Level 2 and Level 3) within 15km. 100% of the ports are level 2 charging ports and 50% of the ports offer free charges for your electric car.
Energy Secretary Granholm’s Stock Portfolio Betrays Her After She Demands Americans Buy Electric Vehicles
Biden Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm insists high gas prices are “a very compelling case” to buy an electric vehicle.
According to Forbes, Granholm is worth about $8 million and recently served as director of an electric car company holding millions in the firm’s stock.
This Is How Much Owning An Electric Car Would Really Cost!
The gas prices are higher than Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg at a party, and the American people are feeling the pinch from it.
Instead of the Biden team focusing on being every independent as President Trump did, Joe Biden is continually pushing that the higher gas prices are all Putin’s fault.
Well, Joe, they would not be high if we were focusing on our own resources. However, Joe thinks he has a better idea than focusing on our oil production--electric cars!.
