Texas Legislature approves Hill Country disaster relief measures in special session

In a decisive session spurred by recent devastating events, the Texas House of Representatives passed a comprehensive six-bill package aimed at bolstering flood disaster responses and preventive measures in the Texas Hill Country, as Just the News reports, a move supported by President Donald Trump.

The legislative package, designed to enhance future disaster preparedness, includes critical reforms in emergency communications and safety protocols for youth camps.

Subsequent to the political standoff, another special session was convened, eventually leading to the restoration of quorum. This allowed for the passage of several important bills, including a controversial congressional redistricting bill and the crucial flood relief package meant to address the aftermath of the July 4 Hill Country flood disaster.

Following the House’s approval, these bills are now poised for consideration in the Texas Senate, where they are expected to pass without significant opposition.

Gov. Greg Abbott, having signaled his approval, is anticipated to sign the bills into law, formalizing the state’s escalated efforts to combat and prepare for natural disasters.

Texas House Dems to Return Home

The Texas House Democrats who abandoned their state in protest of the Republican-led redistricting effort will return home after Gov. Greg Abbott (R) took “emergency action” to begin removing the absent legislators as they refused to show up for work.

Multiple sources revealed the news to ABC13 on Tuesday, though the exact date the Democrats will return to the state capitol in Austin was not confirmed.

The state House had only 95 members present for the second day in a row on Tuesday, with Speaker Dustin Burrows (R) predicting that the session will end and a new one will start assuming there is no quorum on Friday, the outlet noted.

Senate Democrats did not break quorum, though they did storm out of the chamber in protest as their Republican counterparts passed the new redistricting map.

The deadline for them to go back to Austin was last Friday afternoon, prompting Abbott to file a suit with the Texas Supreme Court this week to quickly “make clear the authority I have” to remove the legislators from their offices, Breitbart News reported.

Governor Greg Abbott today announced that since signing Senate Bill 1 into law in 2021, Texas has removed over one million people from the state’s voter rolls, including people who moved out-of-state, are deceased, and are non-citizens. That removal process has been, and will continue to be, ongoing.

“Election integrity is essential to our democracy,” said Governor Abbott. “I have signed the strongest election laws in the nation to protect the right to vote and to crackdown on illegal voting. These reforms have led to the removal of over one million ineligible people from our voter rolls in the last three years, including non-citizens, deceased voters, and people who moved to another state.

The Secretary of State and county voter registrars have an ongoing legal requirement to review the voter rolls, remove ineligible voters, and refer any potential illegal voting to the Attorney General’s Office and local authorities for investigation and prosecution.

Illegal voting in Texas will never be tolerated. We will continue to actively safeguard Texans’ sacred right to vote while also aggressively protecting our elections from illegal voting.”

Since Governor Abbott signed Senate Bill 1 into law in 2021, Texas has removed over 1 million people from the voter rolls.

Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas National Guard continue to work together to secure the border; stop the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and people into Texas; and prevent, detect, and interdict transnational criminal activity between ports of entry.

Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the multi-agency effort has led to over 495,400 illegal immigrant apprehensions and more than 38,300 criminal arrests, with more than 34,700 felony charges. Texas National Guard Seizes Key Border Crossing Point, Blocks Feds

The Texas National Guard has seized control of city property in a key border crossing point and is restricting access by the Border Patrol, the Texas Military Department said in a statement obtained by Fox News’s Bill Melugin.

“The Texas National Guard has maintained a presence with security points and temporary barrier in Shelby Park since 2021. The current posture is to prepare for future illegal immigrant surges and to restrict access to organizations that perpetuate illegal immigrant crossings in the park and greater Eagle Pass area,” they told the outlet.

“Texas will continue to deploy Texas National Guard soldiers, DPS troopers, and more barriers, utilizing every tool and strategy to respond to President Biden’s ongoing border crisis,” Abbott spokeswoman Renae Eze told the New York Post.

The city of Eagle Pass, Texas, confirmed the same day that state authorities were taking control of the area. Shelby Park is city property adjacent to the Rio Grande river, the waterway that divides the U.S. from Mexico.

While those typically trying to get into the U.S. through the border come from Central and South America, there is now a trend of thousands from China attempting to get into the land of the free.

The Associated Press (AP) reported that between January and September this year, 22,187 Chinese people were caught by border patrol in the U.S.-Mexico border area. Hannity had a chart Tuesday night that showed the alarming number of illegals crossing into our counry from enemy counries.

Texas Governor Sends Migrants to Democratic Stronghold!

According to a statement from his office, Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott has transported a group of migrants to Los Angeles, a city governed by Democrats.

Abbott attributed the influx of migrants crossing into Texas from Mexico as a direct result of President Biden’s refusal to secure the border, leaving Texas’ small border towns teetering on the brink of chaos. “The flood of people illegally crossing into Texas from Mexico has overwhelmed our border communities,” Abbott proclaimed.

With Los Angeles being a magnet for migrants, especially after its city leaders proudly declared it a sanctuary city, Abbott vowed to continue providing what he believed was much-needed relief until President Biden finally stepped up to his responsibilities and secured the border.

On Wednesday, the first bus carrying over 40 migrants arrived in Los Angeles. These totals do not include the buses sent by the previous Governor of Arizona nor the planes full of migrants sent by Governor DeSantis.

If Biden won't secure our border and keep our country safe, sending illegals to sanctuary cities is in order. Let the liberal Democrats deal with the monstrous, monumental problem.
