When the cheap theatrics of politics and the empty dogmas of secularism are exposed as hollow, people begin to crave a truth that actually means something. They search for a purpose that can’t be canceled and a hope that won’t bend to the whims of the mob.

This sudden, desperate search for truth is no coincidence. It is the direct fallout from the horrific assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on September 10. They called it the “Charlie Kirk Effect,” and it’s the revival the radical Left never saw coming.

I started to notice this years ago at our city commission meetings. They used to have a preacher giving a prayer before the meeting began...then the Pledge to the Flag. Now what you see is either a commissioner giving a "silent" prayer or the prayer is eliminated altogether.

Father Paul is a graduate of the School of Theology at the University of the South and has been serving as a priest in the Diocese of Southeast Florida since 1977.  This is the sixth year that Father Paul has been at St. Andrew's.  He is Chair of the Diocesan Commission on Ministry and is a member of the Diocesan Task Force for Addiction and Recovery. 

On Tuesday night at the Lake Worth City Commission meeting, Father Rasmus gave the invocation. He was invited to speak by Commissioner McVoy. Unfortunately, a trio of commissioners as well as many residents in the chamber did not listen. They had more fun taking their political pot shots,  condemning McVoy and Maier for not answering an e-mail invitation to walk with some of the downtown merchants. Some residents hit hard on the homeless implying they all have a choice and can be just like they are even bringing in a few success stories. The Mayor demanded that residents speak to the Resolution on opening and closing hours of our public spaces, not the Ordinance, even though one is not effective without the other.

Creator of the universe sent down upon us as citizens and office holders of this community of Lake Worth, the spirit of wisdom, charity, compassion and justice, so that with steadfast purpose, we may faithfully work with one another to advance the well-being of all people. Give us grateful hearts and ever remind us of the many blessings we receive on a daily basis. All this we ask in Your most holy name. Amen.

Memorial for James E. Addison

August 22, 1936 - August 14, 2015

It was a lovely service held yesterday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church attended by many friends and family. The Internment followed at 2pm at National Cemetery for our beloved James E. Addison. I will especially miss not seeing him at our city commission meetings. And no matter how sick or frail that he was at times, he never stopped caring about his home, Lake Worth, where he met his beloved wife Sheila at Lake Worth High. Rest in Peace my friend.

Pastor Colby gave the invocation at our last regular commission meeting. Following is her intro to her invocation:

"Commissioners and Mayor, before I speak, I need to share something with you.

I did not have a clue what was going on here tonight. [changing procedure on invocations] On my way here driving, I asked the Lord and I said, "What is it you want me to pray for, for the city" and He said, "They're going to make a major decision tonight." And the Lord said, "tell them that you will stand before Him one day on this decision...we want the hand of God on this city."

Again, I said I had no clue that this possibly would be the last invocation so a major decision is in your hands before God, right now. So, let's go to the Lord in prayer."

There is a movement in this country to end Christianity and our Marxist in Chief is ignoring it. We see Christians being slaughtered in the Mid-East and elsewhere and they have taken on their evil here with such groups as the Freedom From Religion Foundation. People need to realize that sometimes you can NOT simply turn the other cheek as you will get nailed. You have to stand up. And that message is for all of you ministers as well.

At least this Mississippi city has some damn principles unlike a certain city that we all love and that has joined the anti-Christian crusade by changing its policy on invocations at city commission meetings. Lake Worth changed the name of the Christmas parade to the Holiday parade years ago.  It's always that first little step that begins the movement--you give that inch and then it's a mile.

Common Ground Church - Climate Change

Yesterday was the first Sunday service at their new location on J Street--The Bamboo Room. God created a perfect climate. The room was packed to capacity with an estimated 135 enthusiastic people ...families with babies to grandmothers-- and it was standing room only, all people who love God.

Common Ground has a program called Superkids and before the actual service began, the younger children  were gathered together and taken across the street by all the volunteer workers called Superfriends, so that they could have some playtime. There were three guest preachers there who briefly spoke and said hello to the congregation.

The sermon was about Climate Change--improving the spiritual climate in our lives and in our city. God wants to shift the climate and patterns in our city. God is the one who can change our hearts and set the spiritual climate change in Lake Worth.

"Love God; love people," said Pastor Mike Olive. "God has called you to be the salt of life for the people of Lake Worth." He then asked, "It's not always easy to do that, is it? That's why we love God first...we thank you God that you are greater than all the forces of darkness in this city....we were created to work, worship and walk with God.  He put us in a perfect climate."

Even the Piano is about Love

At the Common Ground Church, even the music is about God's love. This is the piano at the Common Ground Church on S. J Street in Lake Worth. Church goers wrote inscriptions of love on it.

Soon the church will be moving services to the Bamboo Room as they have grown out of their present space. They will make an announcement on the date in the very near future. In the meantime, come on down and hear an awe inspiring pastor preach love, not hate.

Common Ground Church held its regular Sunday service this morning at 10am.

Commandment number 9 is something that the Bully Blogger does not adhere to--just ignores it over and over again. Yesterday, he made up a graphic with a message that is attributed to me.  It is totally FALSE. It is a lie.

Pastor Mike Olive prayed for the city and the usual provocateurs who spew hate and lies. Next Sunday he WILL be addressing gay marriage and everyone is invited to the Common Ground Church to hear his sermon on love and truth, not lies and hate, and the message from the scriptures. Come on down to 12 South J Street.

Following the service, church members went to the Lake Worth beach as three were being Baptized.

The service will begin at 10am. Pastor Mike Olive, one of the most dynamic preachers I have ever heard, will give the sermon. If you're not a Christian yet, or if you are but have never felt attending church services were necessary in your life, you will change your mind after you listen to him. He has announced that John James will be with them that morning. He is the former lead singer of the Newsboys (at one time one of the largest christian bands in the country)

Easter is the most important holy day for Christians. The literal resurrection of Jesus is why there is a Christian religion to begin with. It's how we know that Jesus is the Son of God--He rose from the dead.

And for a little trivia: There are 2.18 billion Christians living in 200 countries around the world. This figure represents nearly a third of the global population of 6.9 billion. At the moment, there are 1.6 billion Muslims.

Common Ground Church is proclaiming love is greater than hate. That's it. 84 hours a week are devoted to selling coffee and bagels; 6 hours a week are spent on preaching the word of God. They are being the light in the middle of darkness in downtown Lake Worth. "Live with the Light on--the hope of Jesus," says Pastor Mike.

This morning I decided to go to the Common Grounds Coffee Bar that lets the Common Ground Church have periodical services there. The room was filled with good folks who believe in Jesus and believe in God and just want to spread the word of LOVE.

Even their t-shirts they wear says LOVE is greater than Hate.

They have been told by the city of Lake Worth that today is their last Sunday that they can pray and sing praise to God in that space. The city says they don't have a business license as a church and therefore they can not pray there.

Pastor Mike Olive says, Love God; love People. Pretty simple.  Pretty basic. But the City is taking a hardball approach and he can't understand why they are cracking down on him. They are not bothering a soul. In fact, souls get soothed just by being there.

Today's prayer by pastor Mike Olive included the mayor and city commission. The sermon was short and sweet and extra chairs had to be brought out to accommodate those who came to listen. Their next service will be on the steps of City Hall on March 3. There is no commission meeting that night but they will be there spreading the word. Freedom of speech is not yet banned by the city.

Lives Matter - Sunday Sermon

Praise and Deliverance Church.

Today, this church is having a Black Lives Matter event. Its leadership believes that there is injustice perpetrated towards blacks, racial profiling as well as police brutality. What about brutality against society in general? Do white lives matter? What about having an event expounding on the fact that ALL LIVES MATTER. Is that not the Christian message?

It's a tough and violent world out there.  People will shiv you for a nickle and police know it. They are there to protect all of us, not just whites. Sometimes there is over-reaction and horrible mistakes and decisions are made such as Seth Adams, a white man, who was shot to death by a deputy when he was entering his own property.

Black Lives Matter – "regardless of gender or sexual orientation, immigration status, physical disability, income level, criminal record, etc. In order to have a democracy that works for all of us we need the entire nation to challenge anti-Black racism and get involved in this movement for all Black lives."

All this does is stir the pot--reverse racism.  No one is against someone because of the color of his skin. Barack Obama was elected twice for heavens sake. They are against someone if he is not a responsible citizen--black, white or green. The Gateway Pundit says, "Don’t tell Al Sharpton, Barack Obama or Eric Holder… But, blacks commit twenty-five more assaults against whites than whites do against blacks.
It’s an inconvenient truth.

Allen West said black people kill more blacks in six months than the KKK did in 86 years. The church should find out why younger people no longer relate to the teachings of the church and are more interested in their I-Pad, or someone else's. What happened to Mark 12.31 "Love your neighbor as yourself...there is no commandment greater than these." That's what this church should be teaching.

After having his nomination rescinded by the Academy to be included in an Oscar nomination, Bruce Broughton said he was DEVASTATED. "I indulged in the simplest grassroots campaign and it went against me when the song started getting attention. I got taken down by competition that had months of promotion and advertising behind them. I simply asked people to find the song and consider it.”
