The above cart was dumped off at our dumpster. Bodegon was called and they retrieved it.

It's not only shopping carts that can cost up to $300 but now there is a rash of car theft in Lake Worth Beach targeting Kias causing a lot of expensive repairs of those they attempted to steal.

My car Friday morning...towed to repair shop. Thieves broke back passenger side window to get in and tore apart the ignition system. Damage at $2,018 so far.

‘Fake News’: Trump Reacts to Media Hoax Based on His ‘Bloodbath’ Comment

Former President Donald Trump blasted the various mainstream media sources that ran stories over the weekend falsely suggesting that he had called for a violent revolution if President Joe Biden beats him in November.

In reality, Trump had said at a Saturday rally that Biden’s controversial auto industry restrictions would lead to a “bloodbath” for car manufacturers if the incumbent president were to win reelection.

“We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going be able to sell those cars. If I get elected,” Trump said Saturday after criticizing Chinese-manufactured cars being imported into the U.S.

“Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars.” Why isn't Joe addressing this problem?

Trump made his comments while discussing the fact that China is building automobile factories in Mexico.

A bloodbath--Substantial losses by many people, as in a mass termination of employment or widespread financial loss. Look it up, Dems.

Greetings,

Summer is here again. DO NOT leave valuables in your vehicles. There are two schools of thought on vehicle security-- “open and empty” or “locked and empty.” I prefer the latter, however the key is not to leave any valuables inside.

Auto burglaries are up significantly this year in Lake Worth Beach. In the overwhelming majority of cases the vehicle was left unlocked. We have had numerous valuable items taken to include, jewelry, purses, wallets and even guns. Case in point, this past week we had nine auto burglaries and all nine vehicles had been left unsecured. Two had firearms inside which are now in the hands of criminals.

Let’s all work together to make this a safe and enjoyable summer.

The latest gimmick to reduce crime in Lake Worth

As previously mentioned, the city has approved the purchase of License Plate Readers in the amount of $332,012 that will be paid from the penny sales tax.. This item is on tonight's Consent Agenda.

Commissioner Omari Hardy said, “I think it will be a huge game changer... they noticed that criminals would steal cars from other cities and then enter Lake Worth to commit crimes. Then they leave Lake Worth with these stolen vehicles. So if we can catch them before they commit a crime and gets caught on the license plate readers, we can stop crime before it happens in the city."

Commissioner, do you really believe that we will instantly know when a stolen car enters our city?  Do you really believe that PBSO will have someone monitoring those cameras 24/7/365 and dispatch a deputy immediately to arrest the perp? Is that what you want the public to believe?

Justin Olive of the Common Ground Coffee Bar is right and was honest in his assessment--Crime has escalated in this city. Everyone knows it. The city just won't admit it and with this purchase it is acting and spending to sooth the fears of the public.

Electric Cars and Charge Stations

New York City has them and now La Guardia--Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. Car Charging Group reports that "an estimated 40 million plug-in electric vehicles are expected to be on the road by 2030. This is not only great news for consumers, but also an huge step forward in green technology and for environmental sustainability causes. Hopefully in the near future, EV charging stations will be considered the norm rather than the alternative."

And coming--The solar-powered EV ARC charger

It consists of a parking pad and a canopy of solar panels that charge a 21.6 kilowatt-hour battery. No power grid, construction, or permits needed. The big idea: Municipalities and businesses will buy the solar chargers and set them in parking spaces on city streets, parking lots and at retailers, moving them around as needed.

Nissan Motor Company and Electric cars

It keeps getting worse under Obama.

Nissan Motor Co. said it will begin U.S. production of its all-electric Leaf on Thursday in Tennessee as part of a $1.4 billion U.S. government loan. The Japanese automaker won an Energy Department loan in 2010 to build a battery plant in Smyrna, Tenn., and to retool to build the Leaf at its assembly plant next door.

Well, Obama did promise jobs and he did promise change. Who would have guessed that taxpayer money would go to a foreign auto-maker for electric cars and batteries, a business concept that is struggling for a myriad of reasons.

According to Energy Experts blog, during Obama's first run for the White House in 2008, he promised to put 1 million electric vehicles on the road by 2015. Just over 31,000 battery-powered and plug-in electric vehicles have been sold so far, which is a scant 0.28 percent of all vehicles sold in 2012. (Including conventional hybrids, that percentage goes up to 3.38 percent of cars sold in 2012.)
