CBS wants more balance on the stories they produce

BBS News Head pulls sory

"The weekend ended with a big hullabaloo about Bari Weiss, head of the failing news division at CBS. Weiss pulled a story on 60 Minutes because it was incomplete.

She wanted more balance and better reporting on the piece. Cries of censorship were immediate and frankly, unconvincing.

“One of Ms. Weiss’s suggestions was to include a fresh interview with Stephen Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff and the architect of Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown, or a similarly high-ranking Trump administration official, two of the people said. Ms. Weiss provided contact information for Mr. Miller to the 60 Minutes staff.

“Ms. Weiss also questioned the use of the term migrants to describe the Venezuelan men who were deported, noting that they were in the United States illegally, two of the people said.”

CBS did not censor Sharyn Alfonsi. Weiss asked her to tell the other side of the story. We will see if she does." [Don Surber]

CBS Heavily edits Trump's Interview

Chuck Schumer Threatens To File Complaint Over Trump 60 Minutes Interview

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) mocked President Trump, suggesting he may file a complaint with the federal government over the editing of an interview President Trump gave to “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday evening.

“Maybe I should file a complaint with the FCC against the Trump White House for editing his unhinged 60 Minutes interview,” Schumer wrote in a post on X. “It will use the exact same language Trump lodged against Vice President Harris.”

The White House promoted the sit-down Monday morning, calling it a “powerful interview” that the president used to “showcase record stock market gains, global peace breakthroughs, and his unwavering commitment to law and order.”

“Highlighting these remarkable successes, President Trump made clear to Democrats: reopen the government and work with him to keep America on the path to even greater prosperity and security,” the White House said.

Trump taped more than 70 minutes with journalist Norah O’Donnell at his Mar-a-Lago estate for Sunday’s broadcast, but viewers reportedly only saw roughly 30 minutes of that footage. CBS has posted both the broadcast version and the full interview on YouTube, as well as a full transcript of the interview.

President Trump on 60 Minutes Tonight

Trump Makes First 60 Minutes Appearance Since Settling Lawsuit

President Donald Trump is returning to "60 Minutes" tonight, his first appearance on the show since he settled a lawsuit this summer with CBS News over the newsmagazine's interview with Kamala Harris.

Trump was interviewed by CBS' Norah O'Donnell on Friday at Mar-a-Lago for the appearance, which will air tonight.

The president has an uneasy history with television's most popular newsmagazine. But he has signaled friendlier relations with CBS News after the takeover of its parent company this summer by new Paramount CEO David Ellison, the son of wealthy supporter Larry Ellison.

CBS News offered few details Friday on how the interview came together, or whether there were any ground rules put in place. O'Donnell, the former "CBS Evening News" anchor, is not one of the show's regular correspondents.

The show typically airs at 7:00 PM ET

How can we forget the 2020 interview with Leslie Stahl who was flat wrong when she argued with Trump basically telling him he didn't know what in heck he was talking about.

Producer of 60 Minutes resigned

‘60 Minutes’ Gives Statement After Producer Resigns

In a stunning on-air moment that shook the foundations of broadcast journalism, veteran “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley closed Sunday’s broadcast with a powerful tribute—and a pointed rebuke.

The resignation of longtime producer Bill Owens, after nearly four decades with CBS News, was not just a professional goodbye; it was a rallying cry for the embattled independence of one of America’s most iconic news programs.

Owens’ departure comes at a time of immense corporate turmoil. As Paramount, the parent company of CBS, pushes to complete a major merger that requires approval from the Trump administration, editorial independence at “60 Minutes” has come under unexpected scrutiny.

Paramount’s entanglement with a $20 billion lawsuit filed by former President Donald Trump only raises the stakes higher. Trump accuses CBS of election interference, alleging deceptive editing of an interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris during the crucial weeks leading up to the 2024 election.

Trump sues CBS for $10 billion

Former President Donald Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit Thursday against CBS

after the network appeared to manipulate a recent “60 Minutes” segment to allegedly favor his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.

The lawsuit claims that CBS aired a curated version of Harris’s response to a critical question about the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, purposely omitting parts of her answer that cast doubt on the Biden administration’s stance on Israel’s military actions, according to the complaint filed in federal court in Texas.

Trump’s legal team argued that CBS engaged in “deliberate deception,” presenting an edited version of the interview that avoided what the lawsuit calls a “word salad” ðŸ¥—  of mixed messaging from Harris.

“To paper over Kamala’s ‘word salad’ weakness, CBS used its national platform on 60 Minutes to cross the line from the exercise of judgment in reporting to deceitful, deceptive manipulation of news,” the lawsuit reads.

CBS cleans up Kamala Harris' word salad statement 🥗

Disgraced ’60 Minutes’ Admits Editing Kamala’s Answer, Refuses to Release Transcript

Nearly two weeks after 60 Minutes was caught rigging an interview to make Kamala Harris sound coherent, the disgraced outlet released a statement admitting it edited her answer.

In a promotional clip released by CBS News to promote the Harris interview, this was the sitting vice president’s disastrous answer to a question from 60 Minutes correspondent Bill Whitaker about her administration’s inability to influence Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by, or a result of, many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.
After that clip earned wide ridicule, when the interview was broadcast on 60 Minutes, CBS News replaced the word salad. Viewers watched Kamala give a very different answer to the exact same question:
We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.

60 Minutes wanted Trump interview again

Donald Trump pulled out of an election season interview with CBS News’s 60 Minutes that was set to air Monday, with the Republican’s camp citing fact-checking provisions and a long-running dispute over the Hunter Biden laptop story as reasons why.

We all remember the Leslie Stahl interview where it turned out, Stahl was wrong and Trump was right.

Kamala Harris' response different on CBS

60 Minutes' Broadcast Airs Two Different Harris Answers to the Same Question

CBS aired two different answers from Vice President Kamala Harris in its "60 Minutes" interview. The initial clip aired on "Face the Nation" Sunday. But when the full interview aired on Monday night, her response was noticeably different.

On Sunday, Harris gave a lengthy, confusing answer to a question about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s relationship with the U.S. This version was mocked by conservatives. The lengthy answer didn’t make it to the primetime special. Instead, a more concise response was shown.

In the "Face the Nation" version, Harris said, "the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements... including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region."

But when aired on "60 Minutes," her answer changed. This time, she stated, "We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end."

CBS hasn’t explained why they aired two different versions.

Kamala Harris on 60 Minutes

Kamala’s 60 Minutes Disaster: More Word Salad and Empty Promises

Kamala Harris just keeps digging herself deeper. After her Call Her Daddy appearance, where she tried to seem relatable but came across as out of touch, she hit a new low on 60 Minutes.

If her performance on the podcast wasn’t enough to make you cringe, her recent interview surely was. The woman just can’t answer a question without rambling off into a confusing, head-bobbing, incoherent word salad.

In this 60 Minutes interview, she couldn’t give a straight answer to save her life. Her appearance is part of a desperate PR tour that’s exposing just how unqualified she really is.

Harris’ vague, stuttering responses make it clearer than ever why she was the first to drop out of the 2020 presidential race—receiving zero votes in the process.

At least host, Bill Whitaker, was better than Leslie Stahl with Trump several years ago.

Leslie Stahl interviews Nancy Pelosi on Joe Biden Resignation

“Please tell us what you told President Biden to persuade him to step aside,” Stahl began.

“Well, I’ve never shared any conversations with a president of the United States publicly,” Pelosi parried.

“It’s said that he’s furious at you. Is he?” Stahl countered.

“Well, he knows that I love him very much,” was all Pelosi said.

“I understand that you don’t want to own this, but it is so well reported that you were the leader of a pressure campaign,” Stahl persisted.

“No, I wasn’t a leader,” Pelosi denied, adding that she’d rather “say things that [she] didn't do.”

“I didn’t call one person. I could always say to [Biden] I never called anybody. What I'm saying is I had confidence that the president would make the proper choice for our country – whatever that would be, and I said that. Whatever that is, we’ll go with,” the former speaker of the House maintained.

A look of utter shock spread across Stahl’s face as Pelosi refused to acknowledge her role in ousting Biden.

"Goon hack Commie network”

Bongino Shreds ’60 Minutes’ Clowns For Disinfo Campaign

Conservative radio host Dan Bongino unleashed a scathing attack on liberal media outlet 60 Minutes for their latest segment on “misinformation” ahead of the 2024 election. Bongino, who hosts The Dan Bongino Show, pointed out the network’s history of spreading false information and propaganda.

Bongino did not hold back when addressing the recent 60 Minutes segment, which featured a group of so-called “misinformation researchers” expressing concerns about not being able to control the political narrative before the 2024 election. Bongino sarcastically referred to these researchers as “Spider-Man/Venom-like characters” and accused them of attempting to manipulate and brainwash the public.

He described the current state of affairs as an “information nuclear war” where left-wing individuals are desperate to control the narrative.

Biden on 60 Minutes

That Disastrous Biden Interview Got Even Worse

60 Minutes had a disastrous interview during which he lied about inflation not really going up, declared the pandemic over (which is going to infuriate people on the left), and said in response to questions about his fitness that people should just “watch him” if they want to judge. Indeed, that’s been the problem — we have been watching him and that’s why we think he is unfit for office. Because we see what he is saying and doing every day, including things like this interview that show why he is unfit.

When Scott Pelley asked Joe Biden about Hunter, he made it about “Republicans” going after Hunter rather than that there are legitimate concerns that he and the rest of the media should be looking at. But even with that soft pedaling, the look on Joe’s face was still something else. If looks could kill, Pelley would be laid out all over the floor from Joe’s evil eye. Dems have a knack about twisting things around or avoiding the question.

This is a pretty sad interview given what 60 Minutes used to be. Now they just deliver a lapdog softball interview for Biden without holding his feet to the fire. Even so, Biden still delivered a mess.

Ron DeSantis on 60 Minutes

The fake news is at it again--the part CBS edited out is below.

And this time Dan Rather would be proud

Mayor Dave Kerner said the 60 Minute segment was a lie! If you read the Palm Beach Post today, it's article is all anti-Desantis as usual. It's a pathetic biased left-wing rag.

Omari Hardy appears on 60 Minutes

It's all about racism with this guy! It's all about distorting the truth and the facts of the matter.

The roll-out had nothing to do with targeting the wealthy over people of color as Hardy alludes. I tried 8 times on the Publix site and finally Palm Beach County called me. I get my 2nd shot on April 19.

As a roll-out of this magnitude was never done before, everyone needed patience. The vaccine was limited and uncertain. DeSantis began with the most vulnerable.

Public health departments are under funded and Florida set aside doses for high priority groups: as an exdample, millions of doses allocated to the states on paper actually went to CVS and Walgreens, the giant drugstore chains contracted by CDC to deliver shots in most of the country’s nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

The constant attack by the left-wing biased media as well as Democrats, is to bring down Ron DeSantis, as he is up for re-lection next year and his name has been tossed around as a possible candidate for President 2024.
