Christians, the Light of the World

The Resurrection of Jesus Is the Most Important Event in History

Chistians around the world will commemorate the most important event in our faith’s history today, but the Resurrection of Jesus isn’t just important to those who believe a Nazarene who walked the earth 2,000 years ago is the Son of God.

The secular world’s history also turns on this pivotal event, which inspired so much progress that we take for granted today.

Christianity turned the values of the Pagan Roman world upside-down. The Romans considered the early Christians subversives—many called them “atheists” because they didn’t worship any pagan gods—and put them to death for refusing to worship the emperor.

After some emperors adopted the faith, Emperor Julian attempted to revive paganism, but lamented that the Christian ethic had transformed the empire.

Christianity historically has been the driving force behind limited government, science, capitalism, the abolition of slavery, medicine, organized charities, and more—and that Christianity would have been impossible without the belief in the Resurrection.

We worship and follow Jesus; we don’t worship and follow Easter

Fox News Continues The Anti-Christian “Easter Worshippers” Trope

Why is it ok to be anti-Christian….?

….but not anti-semitic?

….and not anti-Muslim?

I could go on and on.

The one group that seems to be open season in the Legacy Media is Christians.

Easter Service at Common Ground Church

Pastor Mike Olive was his dynamic self once again on Christ's ultimate sacrifice for the sins of humanity. Finished up the day having dinner with friends at the Farmer Girl.

Happy Easter

“As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. ‘Don't be alarmed,’ he said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples…'” Mark 16:5-7

Because of this miracle, 2.2 billion people in the world are Christians and will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.

“If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins” (1 Corinthians 15:17).

Easter Message

1 Corinthians 15:20-23
English Standard Version (ESV) 20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
21 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.

Easter Message from Speaker Paul Ryan:

One of the most important messages that Christianity has brought the world is one of hope.

In today’s world, that may sound naïve.

We are surrounded by stories of war, poverty, disease, addiction, loneliness, and failure—to name a few.

Our work to try and eradicate these social ills certainly has its ups and downs. It’s never over.

But today, on Easter Sunday, we are reminded that suffering isn’t the whole story. We believe that there is a different ending for us all.

Diverse though we may be, Christians around the world are united in our shared belief that Jesus rose from the dead. Yes, we will struggle. But after our struggle, there is always redemption. And there is always hope.

Today, I wish you and your loved ones a blessed Easter.

Anonymous Easter Prayer

An Easter Prayer

            Of all of God's gifts
            Easter shows us our fate
            Forgiven we will rise
            And pass through Heaven's gate

            This Easter remember
            The sacrifice of a Son
            And through His resurrection
            Eternal life we have won

            This Easter I pray
            That the love of God
            Is resurrected
            Reborn, renewed
            Inside your heart
            God Bless You!
