Through this process, the parties aim at ending the cycle of destruction, securing the complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza Strip, restoring normal life, enabling Palestinian governance, reconstruction, security, recovery and economic development, rehabilitating damaged sectors and facilitate launching a credible political path that achieves self-determination and Statehood.

Trump Announces Gaza Breakthrough, Says Hamas Disarmament Deal Reached

"The Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza.

This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, saying disarmament would take place in "carefully structured phases."

"As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors," he added, also thanking mediators from Egypt, Qatar and Turkey.

Under Trump's 20-point peace plan for Gaza, the second phase of the ceasefire was to involve Hamas's disarmament and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory.

The plan also provides for a group of Palestinian technocrats, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), to assume day-to-day governance during Gaza's transitional phase out of war.

Board of Peace Charter

DAVOS, Switzerland—On the second and final day of his visit on Jan. 22, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the Board of Peace charter, officially launching a new international organization tasked with overseeing the peace process between Israel and Hamas to end the war in Gaza.

“This board is the chance to be one of the most consequential bodies ever created, and it’s my enormous honor to serve as its chairman,” Trump said before the signing ceremony of the charter.

Founding members of the board who were at the event include leaders or representatives from Bahrain, Morocco, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The White House on Jan. 16 named several members of the Trump administration, as well as international leaders, to positions within the Board of Peace, which aims to provide strategic insight, mobilize international resources, and ensure accountability during Gaza’s transition and reconstruction.

Trump will chair the board, which will be tasked with overseeing the next phase in Gaza. Dozens of countries have been invited to join.

Second Phase of Gaza Peace Plan

"Presidential peace envoy Steve Witkoff, on Jan. 14, announced the start of the second phase of President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan.

In an X post on Jan. 14, Witkoff said the second phase will move Gaza from an initial cease-fire into a period that will include the demilitarization of the Hamas terrorist group and the establishment of a technocratic governance model.

He said the second phase will also see the start of reconstruction for the war-torn territory. The Gaza peace plan began in October 2025, and the overall strategy is supposed to proceed in three phases and achieve the 20-point plan Trump laid out in September.

“Phase Two establishes a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), and begins the full demilitarization and reconstruction of Gaza, primarily the disarmament of all unauthorized personnel,” Witkoff wrote.

It remains unclear who will comprise Gaza’s interim government. Trump has repeatedly described this government as the Gaza “Board of Peace” and said he will chair the body." [Epoch Times]

United Nations Votes on stabilization of Gaza

Israeli leader insists there can be no Palestinian state

TEL AVIV, Israel — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Sunday to oppose any attempt to establish a Palestinian state, a day before the U.N. Security Council planned to vote on a U.S.-drafted resolution on Gaza that leaves the door open to Palestinian independence.

Netanyahu has long asserted that creating a Palestinian state would reward Hamas and eventually lead to an even larger Hamas-run state on Israel’s borders. But as the U.S. attempts to push forward with its Gaza ceasefire proposal, he faces heavy international pressure to show flexibility.(Hope he doesn't)

The Security Council is expected to vote on a U.S. proposal for a U.N. mandate that would establish an international stabilization force in Gaza despite opposition from Russia, China and some Arab countries.

Hamas and Palestinian factions warned Sunday against the U.S. proposal, calling it an attempt to impose an international mandate on Gaza that is biased toward Israel and deprives Palestinians of the right to manage their own affairs. In a statement, the groups said the force must not involve Israel and must be under direct U.N. supervision.

The statement also rejected any reference in the U.S. proposal to disarming Gaza. Netanyahu on Sunday noted the proposal calls for Gaza to be demilitarized and Hamas to be disarmed, telling his Cabinet: “Either this will happen the easy way, or it will happen the hard way."

The United States plan for Gaza was passed by the United Nations on Monday. The 15-member council voted 13 to 0 in favor of the resolution, with abstentions by Russia and China, which declined to use their veto power to block the measure.

Kushner dismissed the criticism. “What people call conflicts of interest, Steve and I call experience and trusted relationships,” he said. “If Steve and I didn’t have these deep relationships, the deal we were able to get done — that freed these hostages — would not have occurred.”

All 20 Hostages Released

Hamas released all 20 living Israeli hostages this  morning as part of the Gaza peace

The Israeli hostages, most of them civilians, were held in captivity in Gaza for more than two years. Their release was a key Israeli and U.S. demand for ending the war.

The hostage release started shortly before President Trump landed in Israel, as part of a Middle East trip aimed at cementing his Gaza peace plan.

Hamas had to release all 20 of the live hostages by Monday at noon local time, according to the agreement. Trump will be addressing the Israeli parliament soon.

Israel is readying itself to implement the first stage of US President Donald Trump's 20 point plan to return the hostages and end the war in Gaza, the Prime Minister's Office confirmed early on Saturday morning.

"We will continue to work in full cooperation with the President and his team to end the war in accordance with the principles set forth by Israel that are consistent with President Trump's vision," the PMO office said.

Trump earlier demanded Israel stop bombing Gaza "immediately" after Hamas said on Friday night it is willing to release all hostages in an effort to re-enter negotiations over Trump's deal to end the war in Gaza.

The terrorist organization said in a statement it would release all hostages, living and dead, "according to the exchange formula outlined in President Trump’s proposal, provided that field conditions necessary for the exchange are secured." Hamas officials later told international media that it would likely take longer than the 72 hours outlined in the US proposal to release them.

The acceptance came hours after Trump issued an ultimatum to the terror group, insisting Hamas had until Sunday to accept the deal or face "all HELL like no one has ever seen before."

Hamas would not survive this long without Tehran. Iran’s funding—estimated in the hundreds of millions annually—arms, trains, and sustains Hamas’s military and political infrastructure. Qatar, while playing mediator, is also a longstanding home to Hamas’s Political Bureau, with upwards of $1.8 billion transferred to Hamas over the years.

US Halts All Visitor Visas for Gaza

The State Department announced on Saturday that it was halting all visitor visas to individuals from Gaza while it reviews the issuing process.

"All visitor visas for individuals from Gaza are being stopped while we conduct a full and thorough review of the process and procedures used to issue a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas in recent days," a post on X from the State Department read.

Neither the State Department nor Secretary of State Marco Rubio commented on what triggered the sudden review.

In June, the Trump administration began cracking down on vetting for visa applicants. This involved the introduction of a "comprehensive and thorough" review of all applicants' "online presence."

Leftists always blame the wrong people

For something they're doing themselves

Take a moment to review what's happening here. Hamas is a U.S.-designated terror group. Hamas ran the Gaza Strip after voters gave it power in 2006. There hasn't been an election since, which is what an actual threat to democracy looks like. Hamas is open about its hatred of Israel:

"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it," Hamas stated in the preamble of its 1988 charter.

That doesn't have quite the same ring as "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel and slaughtered around 1,200 people. Most of them were civilians. It also kidnapped around 250 people and continues to hold some 20 hostages.

In July, the UN reported that 1,123 UN-manifested trucks collected aid along the Gaza border. Of those, 1,055 trucks were intercepted before arriving at their destination. In other words, less than 10% of UN aid arrived at its destination. Hamas likely took much of it.

Controlling food means power and money for Hamas. Little wonder it has worked hard to stop other sources of aid. The U.S.- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation is attempting to give aid directly to civilians. Hamas warned Gazans not to accept the aid. Hamas has placed bounties on those distributing the food. In June, it even murdered several GHF aid workers.

Hamas wants Gazans to go hungry. It knows Western leftists will then blame Israel and advance policies Hamas wants – like recognizing a Palestinian state. And that's exactly what's going on.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the situation in Gaza a "humanitarian catastrophe” and put the blame squarely on Israel, ignoring terrorist group Hamas and its mission to find and kill Jews.

Michele Bachmann, the former congresswoman and now a dean at Regent University, is a vocal defender of Israel. She tells AFN the Gaza War now nearing the two-year mark has been a military disaster for Hamas but a propaganda bonanza.

“When they've made every wrong move that there is, their last move is the PR campaign,” she says. “And so they put pressure on these Western nations to make a dumb decision, which is to ‘recognize’ a Palestinian state.”
