A downtown business owner will get to keep a giant pro-Trump display on the roof of his Lake Avenue business after code enforcement cited him for it.

A red “TRUMP 2024” painted message on the roof of Dylan Harrison's one-story retail building at 508 Lake Ave. — home to Kavasutra, The Ice Cream Affair, The Office and Retrohouse Comics — does not violate city code, city officials decided on Tuesday, May 7.

The original citation asserted that the painting can be classified under the city code’s definition of a sign or mural and is subject to regulation. But city officials now agree that the painting does not fit those categories.

"We need the FDA to ban Juul, e-cigarettes, and other vaping devices. These products have many hidden dangers. They are made with chemicals that can harm people. Middle School children and High School children are now following the trend of vaping. These devices are so discreet that they can vape in school and disrupt the learning environment for other children. Students are putting THC into their Juul and other vaping devices and are getting high while at school and under their parents' noses. These children do not understand the risk and schools are trying to figure out how to prevent them.

Juul looks like a USB drive and students can do it in the classroom without teachers knowing because students have learned to inhale and not exhale. I have heard of lungs bursting, the battery exploding in their faces, and other harmful effects. Nicotine, THC, and the other chemicals that are in these pods affect our children as their brains are not fully developed. Other countries have banned vaping, Juul and other devices that are similar. We need to protect the health of the public and our children.

Solution
Have the FDA ban and make illegal these devices. If they are not sold, and the pods with all the chemicals are not sold, then children will not be able to get a hold of them."

Crime is under-reported and I'm not sure if that is intentional (since we pay PBSO a bloody fortune) in order to not frighten would-be investors or home buyers or if PBSO deputies are way too busy to bother with some of the incidents.

Nevertheless, this crime was reported, and it happened directly in front of the Kava Bar on Lake Avenue--Dylan Harrison's (another beauty) establishment.

Gov Scott signs Medical Marijuana law

Get ready all you potheads.

Gov. Scott has signed a bill to regulate Florida’s growing medical marijuana industry into law.

SB 8A allows for edibles, vaping, (Dylan Harrison will be in 7th heaven) oils and pill form of medical cannabis, but the current legislation prohibits smoking the drug, (sorry potheads) which has become a hot button issue for some medical marijuana advocates throughout the state.

Teen allegedly attacks patron in downtown Lake Worth

[PBPost] Infamous Boynton Beach 13-year-old Danielle Bregoli, who gained viral fame via the catchphrase "Cash me Ousside" on Dr. Phil's television show, was apparently involved in an altercation in downtown Lake Worth on Saturday night during the annual Street Painting Festival.


According to an Instagram post by Kavasutra, Bregoli allegedly attacked a patron in front of the kava bar at 508 Lake Ave. The post said the "older woman was concerned with Danielle being out late."

I guess the problem with this 13 year old is that her parents don't give a damn?

Marijuana plants in an example grow house

Yesterday in the local section of the Palm Beach Post, there was an article on a Grow House in Lake Worth that was beneath a two-story business, hidden under a stairway with a trap door. It led investigators to a 700-square-foot grow area with 30 marijuana plants.

The man, Wade Taylor, was a one time business partner of Dylan Harrison who had loaned him $525,000 for equipment at a business called Havana Hydroponics. According to the article, in 2013 Harrison sued him to get his money back. Just think--some wise guy screwed another out of big bucks.

Harrison, as everyone knows, owns two businesses in downtown Lake Worth--Kavasutra and Green Vape and went to federal prison for the manufacture and distribution of synthetic drugs. He's also known for giving campaign contributions to the Trio commissioners.

Tightened regulations for E-Cigarettes

Gee, what will our infamous Vape store owner, Dylan Harrison, do? He is infamous because he went to Federal Prison for manufacturing illegal synthetic drugs. He owns two stores in our downtown, one selling kava and the other selling vape.

The FDA has now issued new rules that extend to e-cigarettes. If you mix your own e-cigarette liquids you would now be considered a producer...a manufacturer. If it is determined that is the case, there would be long-drawn out process forcing them to provide a detailed accounting of the product's ingredients and other disclosures.

With this new law that begins in 90 days, this type of store would no longer be allowed to give out free samples.

And for a little bit of trivia, Scott Maxwell, Pam Triolo and Andy Amoroso accepted campaign donations from Dylan Harrison in the name of his two downtown Lake Worth stores in the total amounts of $250 for each store or $500 to each campaign in the recent election. He is also the guy while at a city commission meeting threatened any commissioner who would have the audacity to help the homeless and the mayor allowed him to do it.

The City and this trio commission tried to tell everyone it was about safety and getting the drug addicts and dealers off our public spaces. That was only part of the truth.  What they never mentioned nor did they say was the word "homeless," the true intent of their Resolution 06-2016 that set new hours for opening and closing of public property owned by the City.  The City twisted the truth to avoid a civil rights lawsuit. It's not criminal to be homeless and by essentially criminalizing the Homeless, it might very well be a  violation of the 8th amendment according to the Justice Department.

Commissioner Amoroso has been strongly behind this law as he is a business owner in downtown Lake Worth.  Some of the public spaces that are affected by this Resolution besides the Cultural Plaza, Bryant Park and City Hall, are the Shuffleboard Court building, the City Annex on Lake Avenue and the public service complex on Third Avenue South

Channel 12 was there and in their video they featured Dylan Harrison, a downtown businessman, who spoke out in favor of this Resolution and even gave a promise/threat toward any commissioner sitting on the dais if they voted against it saying that he would pour thousands of dollars into the next election towards their defeat. His threat didn't matter as those two commissioners with heart, McVoy and Maier, voted against establishing hours of closing city spaces from Midnight to 6am.

The irony of featuring Harrison as a speaker in the Channel 12 video was the fact he is a convicted felon for the manufacture and sale of synthetic drugs. Even a warehouse blew up. He only spent a year in federal prison after a plea. Israel Balderas, reporter for Channel 12, was not interested and said he was only concerned with their comments. Perhaps he should have checked with Channel 5.

LAKE WORTH (CBS12) — The Lake Worth City Commission passed a resolution Tuesday night that sets a new curfew for designated public places. Between midnight and 6 a.m., it will be illegal for anyone to be in or on city owned property, like City Hall and the Cultural Plaza. While those who pushed for this new ordinance insist the curfew will make downtown streets safer for families, others argue it's really about targeting the homeless."

Mayor Pam Triolo, voting for the Resolution, said, "Let's do the right thing and lift each other up."  But all it will do is drag the Homeless down even further than they already are.

When a guy who has been convicted of manufacturing synthetic drugs in his warehouse, Kratom Labs, that were illegal and he was charged with  unlawful distribution of controlled substance analogues (synthetic cannabinoids) and was sentenced to prison for one year and a day...

we know that we are in big do do about our growing and uncontrollable homeless problem. Many of these people are drug addicts.

Actually, and for the most part, I agreed with Mr. Harrison and what he had to say. Where I did not agree was when he said that those homeless who hang out at the Cultural Plaza were not homeless. He went on to say, "If any anarchist or any psychos are ok with this, as he raised a plastic bag full of used drug needles...if any one of you nut jobs is ok with this...sociopaths...they don't really care about the park, they just want to get their guy in office."

Now really.  Why does he think there are candidates willing to run to stop this behavior in our city parks? It has not been caused by anarchists. This problem has tripled since this trio of incumbents  has been in office. He should have been directing his outrage to them.

"Being a drug addict, I know the pain drugs cause," said Harrison, who acknowledged at a previous court hearing that he had received past treatment for heroin and steroid addictions...Harrison agreed to forfeit more than $2 million in assets, including the $850,000 home he bought on the Intracoastal Waterway. Just a little over two years ago, he was sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison.

Harrison followed up the REAR (a prefect place for him) in this Veterans' Day Parade with himself using a bullhorn (calling out my name), two of his Kavasutra trucks and the other advertising his Green Vape store in downtown Lake Worth.

Using our tribute to Veterans who served their country in order to advertise his two businesses is a special affront to Vets but why would we be surprised...he did have on a patriotic hat.

Many people always refer to our downtown as "vibrant." It really depends on your age I would suppose but the people who hang around the vape store and the kava bar (both Dylan Harrison enterprises) seem fairly mellow to me. Dylan Harrison is forever marketing his businesses. His truck is in front of our library across from the Cultural Plaza taking up two parking spaces. Why hasn't he been coded?

Today Dylan Harrison, business owner of several businesses located on Lake Avenue in Lake Worth, is back in the news.  We just can't get rid of this guy even though he went to prison for selling synthetic marijuana and conspiracy to defraud the United States plus he managed to blow up a building. He still sells "Mr. Nice Guy" (synthetic marijuana) in a can. "It just gets people drowsy," he says. Have you ever walked by that place? Everyone seems to be in a twilight zone.

While he was in prison, his truck was in the possession of the DEA. It was totally ransacked and severely damaged. Now he claims to be on the right side of the law charging theft by the West Palm Beach police, the DEA, and a mechanic's removal of an expensive part from his impounded vehicle worth $430 and installed on a WPB cop's personal car.

Harrison is having no part of the policeman who offered to give back the part.  He wants the cop fired for life.

The State of California just declared e-cigarettes a health threat. California is the leader on social issues.  Watch this policy spread like a California wildfire.

Highlights of the report include:

• Exposure to nicotine during adolescence can harm brain development.
• E-cigarettes do not emit a harmless water vapor, but an aerosol that has been found to contain at least 10 chemicals that are on California’s Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
• E-cigarettes are not FDA-approved cessation aids.
• Between 2011 and 2013, e-cigarette advertising jumped more than 1,200 percent and used marketing tactics to appeal to youth. Those tactics include the use of cartoon characters which is prohibited in traditional cigarette advertising.

What is the fate of e-cigarettes? Not too much is known about the harm they may or may not cause. It just stands to reason that inhaling anything into your lungs could be harmful. What we do know is that it’s a booming, billion-dollar industry and it has been said that e-cigarettes will outsell tobacco within the next ten years.  Teens are getting hooked and think it cool and those using e-cigarette products have doubled between 2011 and 2012. 

Dylan Harrison owns a store that sells these in downtown Lake Worth and generally they consist of a mixture of propylene glycol, glycerin, nicotine, and flavorings. Many of these products come from China. Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued its proposed “deeming rule,” which would regulate e-cigarettes as tobacco products. If the rule is adopted as proposed, the deeming rule would extend FDA’s regulatory authority over a variety of tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, and hookah tobacco.

The Gainesville City Commission officially approved an ordinance prohibiting the use of e-cigarettes in places where smoking is already forbidden. The City already had a ban on outdoor smoking at city facilities and Regional Transit System bus stops and bus shelters and the ban is now extended to those spots as well. Florida HB 169 prohibits the sale to anyone under the age of 18 and requires certain signage at retail locations. This bill was "laid on the table" but a similar bill passed in the Florida Senate, SB 0224, and was signed by Governor Scott on June 13, 2014 and became law on July 1, 2014.

Friday evening while strolling on the Avenue, I saw Dylan Harrison in front of his kava business. He had a smile on his face--he always has a smile.  Dylan just recently got out of federal prison and he is the owner of two stores on Lake Avenue--Kavasutra and Greenline. Sandwiched between them is Jeff Clemens office. I would have copped a photo of Harrison but figured 1) he probably wouldn't give me permission and 2) he might punch my lights out...maybe not, as he likes and adores attention.

You can't advertise your business with signs on your parked vehicles on Lake Worth streets. But Harrison is not exactly a guy who plays by the rules, is he?

Kratom, a dangerous "herb"

This country is going to pot...literally and figuratively. There are way too many people on drugs, hard as well as synthetic. Young people think it's cool and now old hippies are on the band wagon to legalize medical marijuana.  God, can't they take a Tylenol? It's like waking up from a bad dream and I'm back in Haight Ashbury.

We have two businesses right in the heart of our downtown owed by a  convicted felon who went to federal prison for selling Mr. Nice Guy. He and his partner's  Kratom plant blew up.

The toxicology report just came back regarding the young man who jumped over an I-95 bridge and it showed he had Kratom and anti-depressents in his system. There are no restrictions on these "herbs"--Spice, K2, Mr. Nice Guy, and hundreds of others. The drugs often are called “synthetic marijuana” but they contain powerful chemicals called cannabimimetics and can cause dangerous health effects.

What's it going to take to ban this? What is it going to take to re-classify this from an herb to a dangerous substance? More people jumping off of bridges? A convicted felon blowing up another lab and going back to prison?
