Lake Worth - Where the "Heartless" Begin

Comment Up

The Lake Worth City Commission passed a resolution Tuesday night that sets a new curfew for designated public places. Between midnight and 6 a.m., it will be illegal for anyone to be in or on city owned property, like City Hall and the Cultural Plaza. While those who pushed for this new ordinance insist the curfew will make downtown streets safer for families, others argue it's really about targeting the homeless."

Mayor Pam Triolo, voting for the Resolution, said, "Let's do the right thing and lift each other up."  But all it will do is drag the Homeless down even further than they already are.

Click here... to read more and see the video.

And a blast from the past--

I have to wonder where the Homeless all slept last night...maybe it was behind a bush at the homes of Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso.

Dylan complaining? That's rich. There are too many punks in this town and most of the really awful people seem to be among the downtown merchants. That pic makes him look very menacing.I guess anyone who has been in the fed pen is a force to deal with and now these nutty merchants are going along with him and treating homeless less than human. How sad can we get as a city?

Anonymous said...

Lynn I'm giving them your address

Lynn Anderson said...

Give them Lake and Lucerne Avenues--the city doesn't own them--yet. Or--tell the city to find an actual solution as this ordinance and resolution won't help.

Dylan is a violent, lawless guy who needs to go back behind bars. The rest of us would be safer and our town would be cleaner without him.

If PBSO did their jobs and removed the real criminals we wouldn't have to have this discussion.

I just love Sugar Bear, nice photo of him with the sign, I love his cartoons. He has such a heart and is a good Catholic. Scott and Pam used to go to Sacred Heart Catholic church too, but their actions wouldn't make you think they were good Catholics at all. And the message and readings this past week from mass were to feed the poor, give a home to the homeless, and clothes to the naked. Pam, Scott, Andy, did you miss mass this week? Where are your hearts?

LW is so damn political, its tiresome to see all the political battles that take place here just because ignorant people want to have their few moments of fame just like that athiest idiot. Everyone wants a change but are to wimpy, self obsorbed & self riotous to go through what it takes to make that change. All these protesters dont even have the slightest clue what they are doing. Let some drug addicts and vagrants hang out infront of their personal residence all day & night and see how thier tune changes... I for one strongly feel its great that city stepped up and now has legal open & closed hours for their properties, its safety issue people! The majority of vagrants are in & out of jail weekly for prostitution, drugs & other misc illegal activities. Dont believe me? Go look on the police blotter for yourself. There are so a many programs they can take advantage of to improve their lives, so how does sleeping on benches in front of city hall and parks help them? The majority of drug activity happens at nights. Im tired of finding needles and used condoms around the playgrounds as well as vagrants hanging out ALL DAY at the Cultural Plaza & Bryant Park. I rarely see children playing there anymore bc who wants vagrants hanging out watching their kids play, yet alone anyone? The police are doing a great job but are bound by the strength of the enacted laws. You want a change? Stop being wimps and vote in stronger laws for them to inforce. The homless have tons of rights for example the police cannot arrest them without attempting to provide assistance first. The old saying goes, "When you pray for rain you need to able to deal with the mud."

Caroline from Paws on the Ave is one of the nicest people I know. Remember, Buddy, you condemned to death? Long time merchant would have saved him!

My responsibility is my family. Take it as you will but im not here to hold anyones hands, sing koobyah and break my back helping people that lack the drive to help themselves, to better their lives. If someone is making a valiant effort to join society than im all for that but I do enough supporting all the non-working citizens living on welfare collecting assistance by busting my butt & paying my taxes to support the programs for them to continue existing.

If you listen to Dylan's comments he does not make excuses for his past drug activity and in fact he is in recovery. He knows the issue far better than any of us. He also said he would help ANYONE on the street that wants help. That is more than anyone I hear offering here.....just sayin.

Anonymous said...

I never recieved any handouts, everything I have accomplished is by hard work. Yes, anyone can fall into tough times but if the truly want to make a change they can unless they are mentally handicapped and if so should seek medical attention. Drugs, panhandling and laziness is no excuse. The hours of city parks is great no body, homeless or not should be in parks after 10pm anyway.

The people at Paws are more than caring - they have saved hundreds of 4 legged lives, reunited countless lost pets with their owners, donate money and food to rescue groups and constantly have rescue events going on. How dare you cast your aspersions and negative comments on a positive role model and pillar in our community.

I'm loving the Plaza being closed from 10p
To 6a

And if some loser druggie chooses to coming to my neighborhood, and camp under my bedroom window, they would be trespassing on private property, and I will call the police or shoot them if my life is in danger.

Anonymous said...

Right. It was all just a coincidence that they now have hours for city public spaces to rid the city of drug dealers and those defecating here and there. It's really all about the homeless and making their lives worse. Don't be a dope. How do you move them to another city? Maybe Dylan or Michele Sylvester can drive them to North Palm Beach.

Anonymous said...

Did you happen to notice that none of those people took Dylan up on his offer? That's cause they don't want to get any help they want to live the life of a hobo and mooch off the rest of us

I say Dylan should run for Commissioner next go-round!

Anonymous said...

Im all about helping people that want to better their lives much they need to make the initiative and by them not being allowed in parks after 10pm has no bearing on self improvement

Lynn Anderson said...

@4:02--are you people talking to yourselves? LOL
Hey, Dylan, move here...we need you!

dylan is a big loser--he is a admitted herion addict-steroid addict and one of the dumbest people you will ever meet---he can't do well at a normal job--he has severe mental problems and he is a example what lake worth is and will be--unless our brain dead people running this run down town wake up----he also admits to employing cops---google on lynne blog--dylan takes a pot shot and read his comments---the guy is full of rage from steroids that is what landed him in prison---once again not to bright

Anonymous said...

do you see the scum that goes into his place that doesn't make money---his money comes from other businesses --like synthectic anything--he even sells this crap drink at the corner gas station

Anonymous said...

Would anyone in their right mind take Dylan up on his offer? They need social services.

Anonymous said...

HARRISon said he wanted to pour tens of thousands of dollars into our next election. What a dunce. We know this city is corrupt because I am rather sure he will find a way to do it if he wants to.follow the money.Follow the felon.Follow Andy.

Anonymous said...

Anyone who disagrees with the curfew ordinance must condone illegal activity in the parks at night and its a perfect place for vagrants to camp out in... Hey yall lets go for a stroll in the park oh please don't all the homeless camps we feel it beautifys our community. What is wrong with these people?????

Anonymous said...

What's wrong with you, anony at 7:58/ you missed the entire subject of this which is the homeless who have no where to sleep and a bunch of idiots now ready to arrest them. What's wrong with you?

Anonymous said...

Whats wrong with you at 8:22? Anyone who tresspases is liable to be arrested not specifically homeless and no where in the ordinance it refers to "homeless." Why dont open your door & invite them in to stay at your home since your being so self riteous. Its not our responsibility to provide places for the homeless to sleep. They are grown adults not babies needing to be spoon fed. The police do a great job and work hard so you must referring to youself as the "idiot".. the "village idiot."

Anonymous said...

What do you say to Anon @ 10:43am, who believes that the town business owners are mostly 'awful people'?
aNon @ 8:22, WHAT is your solution to the problem?
Please, tell us.
What is the % balance between the care taken for tax payers, and the care taken for the unfortunate homeless who have, to a degree, taken over our parks and public places? What do you think it should be?
Lynn?
Thanks.

Honest to God, please stop focusing on Dylan Harrison. He is ONE sundry person in our whole town!
Lynn, am starting to think you're grasping at straws to put the video of Andy, re: Harrison.
sEriously. He's ONE guy.
Bigger picture, please!

Lynn Anderson said...

@9:55...not particularly "concentrating" on Dylan Harrison. He is much more than one "sundry person" in our city. What he is, is a convicted felon for the manufacture of drugs who spoke at our city commission meeting who, loudly, threatened anyone on the dais who disagreed with him. That's what he is. He manufactured drugs and others got addicted to them...the very problem we have in our city--addicts. On top of that, it is you and others who would rather support this guy because he now wants to run them out of town on a rail than support the people who need real help--without finding ANY solution whatsoever--just kick them out along with their few possessions. We'll let Dylan shine a light in their eyes. Nice going. Very Christian like.

The "bigger picture" is that you are letting punks and angry people rule our city. It's not those who are homeless--they have no power. They are miserable and need a home. The city, instead of writing an ordinance to kick them out of here during the time that normal people sleep, need to find real solutions. This is happening all over the country...we just have more than our fair share.

Anonymous said...

yes dylan is just one guy--one really bad criminally mentally ill man---he actions say everything

Anonymous said...

Its not my responsibility to take care of grown adults. I have had my fair share of ups and downs and I have delt with them and are stronger for it. It is not the city's responsibility to provide shelter for the homeless yet alone make it comfortable for them or anyone in that matter to sleep and do illegal activities in the parks. Why not focus on creating a great environment for the tax payers and upright citizens vs the people who are creating the slum and blight? Just yesterday I saw a homeless (the same one I always see on the police blotter) urinating on the sidewalk of 6Th ave N & F st. Why should we break our backs to try and make his life more comfortable?

Lynn Anderson said...

The only way that I could ever answer that one, anonymous at 7:53, is to say it is all between you and your God. I suppose you could round them all up and gas them.

Anonymous said...

lynn on your blog--dylan commented titled--dylan takes a pot shot---he said ( kavasurtra ) that he employees cops why in the hell doesn't anybody see the sign of whats going on------you do remember pbso caught selling steroids and pills out of lake worth wellness and wellington wellness---do you not see the red flags----and pbso wants to keep this under the rug----lynn pull that rug and start talking about it---------

Anonymous said...

What ever happened to personal responsibility? Lynn im sure if they were all sleeping where you lived you wouldnt be to happy about it

Lynn Anderson said...

That's right, anonymous at 10:16--i wouldn't like it. When people are down on their luck, lost their job, lost their home, lost it all, it's not a question of personal responsibility. They need help. And guess what...they are across from me right in John Price Park or in the perimeter across from where I live.
It is government's duty to get a solution--not mine. there for the grace of God...

Anonymous said...

So tell me how does loitering in our parks at night and sleeping on the benches infront of city hall during the day display personal responsibility traits and the will to improve ones life? As someone stated before there are so many programs to help people if they desire to change their situation for the better

Anonymous said...

I still don't understand the sudden ballooning of both the homeless and the increase in drug trafficking. Something has suddenly changed over the last 6 months--I think that is the question that needs to be answered. The economy went south quite some time ago, that's not new. The sober homes are new; is this a root cause? And how do other cities keep a lid on drug use? It does seem if you research that at least the entire east coast is in the midst of a new heroin epidemic. But why suddenly now? How do you help addicts and not enable them? Where is that line and how can it be made effective?

Anonymous said...

Lynn, maybe this should/will be a cause you throw your energy into.
You are so passionate about the homeless situation and you're a great researcher...I know every time someone asks what is your solution to the problem, you respond that it's the Commission's job, not yours.
But shouldn't everyone be thinking about this?
Especially impassioned citizens?
I gently suggest that instead of just throwing Commissioners under the bus, why don't you try to make a difference?

Anonymous said...

he employees cops to do what people---are you all missing the boat on a issue that should be brought up--over and over again until we have the answer

Lynn Anderson said...

I bring light to a serious problem in our city by writing about it, anonymous at 6:08. Thanks for your interest. Not throwing anyone under the bus unless they have a guilty conscience and believe they did the wrong thing.
Some people already think about this and actually do a lot for the homeless. Perhaps it will take new commissioners to solve it.

Anonymous said...

Why not invite some vagrants to live with you and show you're not "heartless" how long would it be before you're seriously hurt by these strays? There's a reason their own families don't want them.

Lynn Anderson said...

Is that your solution, @9:28? Seriously? Church and charity didn't wear off on you either. Government needs to help them. Do you have any other suggestions that actually make any sense? Besides rounding them all up and gassing them, I mean.
Hopefully when we get a Republican president elected he will create jobs where these people might be able to afford a roof over their heads and food to eat. In the meantime, we have over 150 of them in Lake Worth. The city is trying to tell us, along with Cpt. Baer, that some are not really homeless. Well, let's do something about any bums selling drugs but the truly homeless need some compassion. It could be you.

Anonymous said...

Jobs are for those who want to work, one only has to glance at our illegals to know that. When no one would hire me for jobs I was more than qualified for I created my own and yes that included cleaning, raking and sweeping. This is why entitlements and drugs irritate normal citizens.

Anonymous said...

Most of us have already given and helped, getting kicked in return. Our taxes go to programs without our say. Poverty is one thing, irresponsibility is another, so don't judge when you don't know what we've been through just because you hate Amaroso. How's the weather there on your moral high ground?

Lynn Anderson said...

I would think it is better to have "high moral ground" than the opposite. The weather's fine in my world, much better than those homeless who have little hope right now.
I would say target the lawless, not the homeless.

Anonymous said...

The lawless use the homeless as human shields just like ISIS or the Islamic radicals sneaking into Europe hidden amongst the refugees. Same deal here. Worst, the drug dealers are targeting the rehab addicts hoping and helping them to fail their program and get booted out of their sober home and landing squarely on our streets as a new homeless

Everyday!!!! You heard it right from that young lady's mouth at the last commission meeting, through the grace of God and her own hard work she is still clean and sober and working 60 hours a week!

Lynn Anderson said...

I love success stories.

Anonymous said...

I do too! Maybe we need undercover officers posing as rehab sober home failure drug seekers... And book the drug pushers under RICO laws as well as thru possession and distribution charges

Lynn Anderson said...

Ok...let's see if Dylan can go under cover. He could 100% redeem himself forever.
