Iowa Republican Joe Mitchell Confronts Democrat Over 177 Missed Votes

Joseph Mitchell is running in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District to replace Republican Ashley Hinson, who is running for Senate. Mitchell’s opponent is Democratic state Rep. Lindsay James.

During a debate, Mitchell went after James’s record in the Iowa House, pointing to her attendance, votes and background. Mitchell said:

• “So this is before she made her home LA and San Francisco, Massachusetts, before she conveniently moved to Iowa just 10 years ago, immediately ran for office.”
• “She gets in office, she missed over half her votes this last legislative session.”
• “And when she was there, which was probably worse, she was voting to give illegal immigrants state-funded Medicaid, food stamps, housing assistance, sex changes for kids. She hasn’t seen a tax raise she didn’t like.”
• “She was letting criminals off, violent criminals that we were trying to penalize and give the three strikes law to.”
• “So again, we don’t judge her for being from Portland, Oregon.”

As per the reports, during his speech in Indianola, Iowa, a woman began yelling, “Trump, Trump! You’ve taken billions,”(actually he's lost billions) before being drowned out by boos from the crowd.

In response to the disruption, the former president, smirking, advised the woman to “go home to mommy, your mommy is waiting.” This incident occurred amidst a flurry of activities as Trump hopped from one event to another across the Hawkeye State, with less than 48 hours remaining until the Iowa caucuses.

CV NEWS FEED // A retired military officer and former congressional candidate destroyed a “holiday Satanic display” at the Iowa State Capitol Thursday.

According to the Republic Sentinel, Michael Cassidy of Mississippi “turned himself into police officers present in the Iowa Capitol, who confirmed that the Satanic Temple of Iowa desires to press charges.”

The Sentinel clarified that “Cassidy was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.” Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote on X that his organization “stand[s] with Satan Slayer [Cassidy], and is “proud to pledge $10,000 to his legal defense fund.”

Cassidy, a Christian, said that he took action to tear down the display in order to “awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government.”

“The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars inside Capitol buildings as protected by the First Amendment,” he told the Sentinel.

DeSantis' Super PAC Pollster: Ron Is Cratering In Iowa

According to Never Back Down, the more Iowa voters get to know Ron DeSantis—and the more the Super PAC spends—the lower his poll numbers go.

"We highly encourage Ron DeSantis to finish his 99 county tour and meet as many Iowa voters as possible. The more counties that Ron visits, the more his poll numbers fall. Millions of dollars have been wasted trying to salvage the campaign of a candidate who is clearly incapable of connecting with voters. DeSantis Super PAC Never Back Down's pollster WPA has found that DeSantis has lost 10 percent support among Iowa Republicans since June.

A June Iowa poll released by WPA showed President Trump leading the Republican field with 39 percent, DeSantis trailing at 29 percent, and Sen. Tim Scott with 7 percent.

WPA's August Iowa poll showed President Trump leading the Republican field with 40 percent support, while DeSantis trails with 19 percent, and Scott is in third with 12 percent.
