New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill signed legislation Thursday creating new criminal penalties for people who interfere with patients seeking abortions or sex change procedures, while also shielding New Jersey providers from legal action by other states.

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Friday to deliver his most pointed public rebuke yet of commentator Candace Owens, calling her claims about French First Lady Brigitte Macron "despicable" and sharing a mocked-up Time magazine cover labeling Owens "Vile Person of the Year."

The post marks a sharp new chapter in a dispute that has been building for more than a year between the president and the 36-year-old right-wing commentator, one that now runs through a Delaware courtroom, a French presidential family, and a widening fracture on the American right.

Trump did not mince words. In his Truth Social post, as the Daily Mail reported, the president wrote that Owens' "stock, which was never very high, has fallen a long way." He added:

"Her attack on the First Lady of France is despicable. I believe, in this case, without verification, she is an extremely low IQ individual!"

He went further, referring to Owens as "Crazy" and siding explicitly with Brigitte Macron in the ongoing legal fight. Trump wrote that Owens "accuses the Highly Respected First Lady of France of being a man, when she is not, and will hopefully win lots of money in the ongoing lawsuit."

Supreme Court Blocks California Law That Hid Children's Gender Changes From Parents

The Supreme Court halted a California law that barred school districts from requiring staff to notify parents when their child changes gender identification at school.

The unsigned order also blocks a state rule that compelled teachers to use a student's preferred pronouns, reinstating a lower-court injunction while the case continues.

The majority found that the religious parents who brought the challenge hold "sincere religious beliefs about sex and gender" and "feel a religious obligation to raise their children in accordance with those beliefs." California's policies, the Court ruled, burden the free exercise of religion.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed the law in July 2024. Two sets of Catholic parents, represented by the Thomas More Society, fought it. The parents won.

California judge blocks policies hiding gender changes from parents

A federal judge has slammed the brakes on California’s controversial push to keep parents in the dark about their own children’s gender transitions at school.

In a sweeping decision, U.S. District Court Judge Roger Benitez ruled that California’s policies violated the constitutional rights of both parents and teachers, barring state and local education officials from enforcing secrecy-based rules on student gender identity changes, as Blaze Media reports.

The lawsuit, originally filed on individual grounds, grew into a class-action suit by October 2023. It came to represent other educators and families who said they suffered under policies they viewed as both unethical and unconstitutional.

Judge Benitez agreed, delivering a full summary judgment in favor of the plaintiffs and halting the enforcement of these so-called “gender support plans” that deliberately cut out parents from life-altering decisions.

School officials in Maine claimed it had the right to ignore federal law because the Maine Human Rights Act somehow supersedes the Constitution’s supremacy clause.

Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers’ proposed budget for 2025-2027 includes several unpopular policies, including axing gendered terms and funding free college tuition for Native Americans.

The nearly 2000-page bill introduced Feb. 18 proposes making references to spouses and parents “gender neutral” by removing terms like “mother,” “father,” “wife” and husband and opting instead for “spouse” and “parent who gave birth to the child,” according to the budget’s text.

The $119 billion budget also suggests mothers be referred to as the “person inseminated” for birth records relating to artificial insemination.

As President Donald Trump has moved to affirm a federal recognition of only two genders and work to end diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices, many states have taken to defying his orders, promising to continue teaching radical gender ideology to children and allowing men into women’s bathrooms and locker rooms.

Other states have begun putting a stop to gender ideology and made efforts to uphold protections for women’s spaces.

California pharmacists forced to participate in LGBT indoctrination courses

"California pharmacists must now complete mandatory training on gender identity, colonialism, and white privilege in order to remain licensed in their field.

According to a June 17 report from the Free Press, the mandated “cultural competency” courses went into effect earlier this year. Democratic Assemblyman Christopher Ward stated after passing the measure that it was to “ensure pharmacists are looking out for the well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals.”

The mandate requires California pharmacists to complete an hour of the training every two years, the report states.

In the training, professionals are instructed to begin customer interactions with a question about gender, and what pronouns the customer prefers."

Parents have no rights when it comes to their kids in California schools

School districts in California would be barred from requiring teachers to notify parents if their child asks to go by a new pronoun at school under a bill the state Legislature is weighing amid legal battles over the rights of parents and gender-nonconforming students.

The state Senate approved the proposal Thursday, which would ban school districts from passing or enforcing policies requiring school staff to disclose a student’s gender identity or sexual orientation to anyone else without the child’s permission, with some exceptions.

What was their goal? To protect students whose safety could be threatened if they live in unwelcoming households. Lawmakers approved the legislation along party lines after more than an hour of an emotional debate.

The bill now heads to the state Assembly, where it would need to pass in committees and on the floor before it can reach the desk of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, whose administration has fought school boards over the notification policies. What a joke.

‘A rule that compels speech and engages in such viewpoint discrimination is impermissible,’ the judge wrote in the ruling.

A federal judge on June 17 issued an order temporarily blocking the Biden administration’s new Title IX transgender rule in an additional six states. The rule has sparked controversy for changing the definition of “sex” to include “gender identity” and giving female-identifying male students access to girls’ locker rooms and bathrooms.

“There are two sexes: male and female,” begins the memorandum and opinion written by U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves, filed on June 17 at the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Kentucky, Covington Division.

The judge’s order grants a preliminary injunction blocking enforcement of the new rule in six states: Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The rule has also been blocked in at least five other states.

Republican Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves announced on social media he signed the SAFER Act into law on Monday morning. The law prohibits people in Mississippi from entering restrooms and other sex-exclusive areas in public buildings that do not align with their biological sex, according to the legislative text.

“Today is a win for girls and women across our state, and I was proud to sign SB2753 into law,” Reeves said. “You have my word that as long as I’m governor, our state will do everything in its power to keep Mississippi’s daughters safe.”

At least 15 states have sued the Biden administration for changes to the 1972 civil rights law meant to protect females from discrimination.

Republican-led states are suing the Biden administration and advising schools to ignore the new federal Title IX changes that expand sex discrimination protection to students who identify as the opposite sex, or transgender.

The rule change, published on April 19, formalizes the Department of Education’s redefinition of the meaning of sex to include gender identity.

The changes, which go into effect Aug. 1, give males identifying as female the right to use female restrooms, locker rooms, and join female-only organizations. Under the new rule, “harassment” can include the use of biologically accurate pronouns.

The American Civil Liberties Union’s deputy legal director Louise Melling applauded the definition change to include young people who identify as transgender. Note, you don't have to have actually transgendered through surgery, just identify as a different sex. This is such BS.

About 1.03% of the nation's adult population identifies as transgender.

He ruled that “not all gender-based classifications violate the Equal Protection Clause.” He noted that Florida’s decision to segregate male and female athletes in school sports was “substantially related to the state’s important interest in promoting women’s athletics.”
