FAA flight restrictions around Mar-a-Lago spark lawsuit, resident frustration

Palm Beach County residents living near Donald J. Trump International Airport say the sound overhead has become impossible to ignore — and now a lawsuit against the Federal Aviation Administration could head to court as early as the beginning of next year.

The dispute centers around temporary flight restrictions tied to Mar-a-Lago that have rerouted planes over residential neighborhoods across the county. County leaders and residents argue the changes have dramatically increased noise and disrupted daily life for thousands of people.

WFLX’s Joel Lopez was at the Citizens Committee on Airport Noise Thursday as they met with airport officials where we learned litigation over flight restrictions could go to court as early as the beginning of next year.

During the meeting, committee members pressed airport officials for answers about how the new flight patterns are affecting communities. “The citizens and this body needs to know what’s happening,” said committee member Teresa Johnson. “Understand where those flights are going, how much noise they’re making, when they’re making the noise and for us to make our case.”

The restrictions were put in place around Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach residence of President Donald Trump. The committee has pushed for noise readers and flight information to strengthen their case on reversing the temporary flight restrictions.

Residents said while they understand the need for presidential security, they also believe the burden on neighborhoods has become too heavy. In May, Commissioner Weiss publicly urged the FAA and Secret Service to suspend the restrictions during periods when President Donald Trump is not staying at Mar-a-Lago.

The liberal media is up in arms again, this time over the so-called “harsh” conditions at Florida’s infamous “Alligator Alcatraz,” where violent criminal illegal aliens are detained.

But while leftist outlets like NBC 6 South Florida shed crocodile tears for these detainees, hardworking Americans are applauding Governor Ron DeSantis and President Donald Trump for finally enforcing real consequences for those who break our laws.

Leamsy “La Figura” Izquierdo, a 34-year-old Cuban migrant arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, recently whined to NBC about the conditions at the facility, located deep in the swamps of Ochopee, Florida.

His complaints? No showers for four days, one meal a day (sometimes with worms), 24/7 detention lights, and mosquitoes “the size of elephants.” To most Americans, this sounds like justice—not cruelty.

“There is no water to bathe… it’s been four days since I took a shower,” Izquierdo lamented in the interview. He then griped about the food, the freezing tents, and the inability to go outside. But let’s not forget—this is a man who allegedly attacked someone with a deadly weapon. Yet, the liberal media expects us to sympathize with him instead of his victim.

And who can believe this hard-core criminal besided Democrats?

The Ethics complaint was initiated by Vice Mayor Sarah Malega who brought it up for a vote at a commission meeting to proceed with an ethics complaint advisory opinion. The entire Commission voted 5/0 (including Commissioner McVoy).

Following is Commissioner McVoy's reply to the General Counsel, Rhonda Ginger, of the Palm Beach County on Ethics:

"Good morning Counsel Giger, Thank you for your important work on behalf of improved governance for the residents of Palm Beach County. I am sure that it is not always easy. (But I am confident that it is providing excellent qualifications should you ever decide on a career change to refereeing professional hockey!)

My answers for right now may be incomplete as I’m supposed to be adjusting this week’s balance of science / public service toward the science side, that is attending the Greater Everglades Ecosystem Research conference.

My nominal employer, South Florida Engineering and Consulting (SFEC) has long supported my public service by allowing me very generous flexibility in working hours and quantity. In theory, serving as City Commissioner is a part time position, recompensed at $24K/yr. In practice, for me it is much closer to full time work. This is reflected in my SFEC W-2 which indicated that in 2024 I earned less than $97 (yes, less than one hundred $$) from SFEC. I think I did a bit better in 2023, but doubt that it was much over several thousand dollars. (Good thing my wife has a job!) I will send W-2’s when get a chance to dig them out.

SFEC does not have a board. To my knowledge I have always been an employee, not a contractor for SFEC, though given the limited hours, “honorary employee” might be a more accurate description. My wife has nothing to do with SFEC, nor do any other family members.

You will forgive me if I editorialize: Vice Mayor Malega’s allegation, if I understood it correctly, that I was required to recuse myself from any votes regarding a downtown development project, is in my opinion patently incorrect. Again if I understood correctly, she was asserting an old canard, that somehow I was basing my votes on influencing the existence of a federal HUBzone (sp?) that is adjacent(?) to the SFEC office. This is not only 100% false, but mechanistically somewhat ridiculous and 100% insulting.

Impuning motives is always risky business. I can assure you that my choice to serve, at the expense of my scientific research, is simply to try to do the greatest good for the broadest cross-section of the Lake Worth community. My votes have never, and will never, have anything to do with SFEC. They are always guided by my best efforts to make informed votes that, as best as I can discern, will bring the broadest benefit to the residents of Lake Worth.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) filed a misconduct complaint Tuesday against the judge overseeing Donald Trump’s Manhattan hush money trial, alleging that his selection to handle the former president’s case — and others involving his allies — is “not random at all.”

The House Republican Conference chairwoman’s complaint with the inspector general of the New York State Unified Court System called for an investigation into Justice Juan Merchan “to determine whether the required random selection process was in fact followed.”

“The potential misconduct pertains to the repeated assignment of Acting Justice Juan Merchan, a Democrat Party donor, to criminal cases related to President Donald J. Trump and his allies,” Stefanik wrote.

Young members of the U.S. Army are throwing a TikTok “mutiny” to complain about “sh*tty food,” being pushed to stay in shape, their freedoms being “suppressed,” and more.

One of the videos by “military influencer” Anthony Laster described his life as having “No Privacy, The Pay Sucks, (an army private starts at $1,833/mo), Shitty Food, Disrespectful Leadership, NO SLEEP!”

A 2022 study from the Pentagon found that 77 percent of young Americans would not qualify for military service due to being overweight, using drugs, or having mental and physical health problems.

The Pentagon also discovered that only nine percent of Americans between the ages of 16-21 said they would consider military service last year, dropping 13 points from before the coronavirus pandemic.

Gaetz Vendetta continues against McCarthy

Matt Gaetz refuses to let McCarthy get away with 'assault,' makes serious move

Hothead Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida has filed an ethics complaint against former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

The complaint revolves around an alleged incident between McCarthy and Republican Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee that took place Tuesday.

In a news release posted on Gaetz’s website, the incident is described as an “assault.” Of course, Gaetz didn't witness the incident and was no where around. He loves sticking his nose into things.

The release said Burchett referred to the incident as a “sucker punch” and a “clean shot to the kidney.”

The White House press pool filed a formal complaint against Democrat President Joe Biden for refusing to answer questions from American media about the multiple crises that have erupted under his regime.

The complaint came as Biden met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the Oval Office, which comes after Biden angered the British with his disastrous pullout from Afghanistan.

I don't know why they are so upset...they should know by now that our President doesn't know how to even come out of the rain.
