Staffers now can rank their Capitol Hill bosses - "The Scoop"

Capitol Hill Staffers Got a Tool to Tell on Their Bosses and a Vulnerable House Democrat Ranked Dead Last

Capitol Hill can be a cesspool for staffers stuck under an abusive boss.

Now a new verified ranking system just put a real number on the worst offices.

One vulnerable Democrat just landed dead last and staffers explained exactly why.

Capitol Hill staffers have whispered about toxic bosses for years with nowhere official to turn. Capitol CNCT changed that on July 20 when it launched "The Scoop," a verified rating system built for congressional aides. Former House staffer David Tennent built it after growing sick of watching young aides get chewed up by offices with zero accountability.

Tennent requires every reviewer to prove they actually worked in the office they're rating. His team checks House and Senate email addresses before a single review goes live. He built it this way on purpose.

Rep. Don Davis's office scored worse than anyone else measured on the platform. Individual reviews ranged from a brutal 1.3 to a still-damning 3.4 out of a possible 10, and multiple staffers pointed straight at his chief of staff for the collapse.

January 6th: 1,000+ Hours of Secret January 6 Bodycam Video Released

Newly Released Jan. 6 Bodycam Shows Claim That 350 FBI Agents Were Ready to Deploy

New Jan. 6 Footage Finally Sees Daylight

Judicial Watch announced Monday that the Washington, DC, Metropolitan Police Department released more than 1,000 hours of body-worn camera footage from January 6, 2021, spread across 1,630 videos.

The release came after a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed in June 2024, which is another reminder that when the government says “transparency,” it often means “check back after we drag this through court.” The footage is now drawing fresh attention because one clip appears to include police radio traffic discussing a large FBI presence near the Capitol that day.

The Line That Has People Rewinding The Tape--

January 6 defendant and investigative journalist Tommy Tatum flagged a bodycam clip identified in the source material as X6039BF3H, with the key audio reportedly starting around the 12:30 mark and occurring around 5:14 p.m.

In the clip, an officer appears to say something along the lines of, “Do you have 350 FBI agents there right at this moment?” or “You got 350 FBI agents there ready to deploy.”

The background noise makes the full exchange hard to hear, so caution is fair, but the number is what has people paying attention. If police on the ground were discussing hundreds of FBI personnel being ready to deploy, that raises obvious questions about who was there, what roles they had, and why the public had to wait years to hear this audio.

Honoring Capitol Police

Pelosi’s Rant at the Capitol Ceremony

Speaker Nancy Pelosi used a plaque unveiling for Capitol police to deliver a lengthy attack on President Donald Trump and the events of January 6. Her remarks sounded emotional and at times disjointed, as she described fear for staff safety and repeated the claim that an insurrection was incited by the president.

The moment was meant to honor officers but turned into a political speech that left many asking why a solemn memorial became a stage for more accusations.

What She Said Versus What Records Show:

Pelosi said the president incited an insurrection, a claim frequently repeated by Democrats. But legal records show President Donald Trump was never charged with insurrection.

Public officials and reporters have pointed out a gap between political statements and court outcomes. That gap matters because words shape public memory of January 6 and because accuracy should matter when honoring people who put themselves at risk.

Warnings and Security Choices Before January 6:

Reporting and testimony since January 6 show that Pelosi and other officials received warnings about potential breaches the night before the riot. Some of Pelosi’s top security aides reportedly raised alarms. Critics say those warnings created a window to call in the National Guard and beef up protections.

Supporters of Pelosi argue the situation was chaotic and decisions were complex. The dispute over what was known and who acted on it remains central to the debate.

Honoring Capitol police is appropriate and overdue. At the same time, turning that moment into a political accusation without clear legal backing risks deepening national division. Can it get any deeper?

Trump honors January 6 victims

White House Honors Jan 6 Victims and Pardoned Patriots

What the White House posted:

On January 6, 2026 the White House published a tribute that listed Americans who died on January 6, 2021 or who later died after prosecutions tied to that day.

The post emphasized that President Trump issued broad pardons and commutations for many people charged for being at the Capitol. The administration framed the move as correcting decades of political weaponization and as a step to restore fairness to those they called peaceful protesters or overcharged defendants.

Who was honored in the tribute:

The tribute included four people who died on January 6 and other Americans who later lost their lives, some of them by suicide, after facing prosecutions.

The White House highlighted that these were citizens who were targeted and punished harshly, and it used their names and photos to argue the legal system had been used as a political tool after the 2020 election. The piece made a point that some families suffered financial ruin and social stigma while their loved ones were treated like criminals.

The administration’s narrative placed heavy blame on Democratic leaders, especially former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, for security failures and for turning January 6 into a multi year political weapon.

GOP Rep. Dan Newhouse who voted to Impeach Trump, accounced retirement

GOP Rep. Dan Newhouse Who Voted to Impeach Trump Announces Retirement

Republican Rep. Dan Newhouse of Washington, one of the few GOP lawmakers who voted to impeach President Donald Trump, announced he will retire from Congress and not seek reelection in 2026.

Newhouse cited more than 25 years in public service.

That includes over a decade serving in the U.S. House of Representatives. His departure leaves only one remaining House Republican who supported Trump’s impeachment, underscoring the lasting political consequences of that historic vote.

Newhouse was one of 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump in 2021 and joins the ranks of these RINOS although he himself was not on the Jan 6 Select Committee:

The group included Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Peter Meijer, Tom Rice, Fred Upton, John Katko, Jaime Herrera-Beutler, and Anthony Gonzalez.

His claim to shame: One of Ten GOP Impeachment Votes. He never understood anything about January 6 and his blaming Trump was 100% wrong. Trump did offer National Guards to be there and his offer was refused by Pelosi and the Capitol Police.

The Pipe Bomber

Identifying the Jan 6 Pipe Bomber through Forensics

A computer program that compared the bomb suspect’s gait to that of former Capitol police officer  produced a 94% match.

A forensic analysis of a female former U.S. Capitol Police officer’s gait is a 94%-98% match to the unique stride of the long-sought Jan. 6 pipe-bomb suspect, according to a Blaze News investigation confirmed by several intelligence sources.

A source close to a congressional investigation of Jan. 6 additionally told Blaze News evidence has emerged recently that pointed toward law enforcement possibly being involved in the planting of the pipe bombs.

A software algorithm that analyzes walking parameters including flexion (knee bend), hip extension, speed, step length, cadence, and variance rated pipe bomber of Alexandria, Va., as a 94% match to the bomb suspect shown on video from Jan. 5, 2021. The veteran analyst who ran the analysis for Blaze News said that based on visual observations the program can struggle with, he personally pegged the match at closer to 98%.

Pipe bomber was a Capitol Police officer for four and a half years, left the department in mid-2021 for a security detail at the Central Intelligence Agency, sources told Blaze News.

Former FBI Special Agent Kyle Seraphin realized Friday that he was doing surveillance next door to the woman now suspected of being the Jan. 6 pipe bomber.

“The FBI put us one door away from the pipe bomber within days of January 6, and we were deliberately pulled away for no logical or logically investigative reason,” Seraphin told Blaze News Friday. “And everything about that tells me that they were involved in a cover-up and have been since day one.

BBC exposed for its Bias in editing Trump's speech

BBC caught in serious lie about President Trump

Spliced and diced footage to make him say what editors wanted

Michael Prescott, was an independent adviser to the BBC for years, and sent a dossier to its board last month, the report said.

The documentation accused the BBC, which is paid for by taxpayers in the U.K., of having a widespread bias against Trump, on the Gaza war and on the transgender debate.

"Prescott explained how the BBC – often described as the world's 'most trusted' broadcaster – 'completely misled' viewers during an episode of the program Panorama which aired a week before the election by showing the president telling supporters he was going to walk to the Capitol with them to 'fight like hell.'"

The analysis revealed that Trump actually said he would walk with them "to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

He ended up not being allowed by Secret Service to walk with the crowd.

The network created Trump saying things he "never actually said" by editing and splicing footage of his speech, the report said.

Muslims using Senate bathrooms for ritual cleansing and prayers

GOP lawmakers raise alarm over extremist Muslim groups using Capitol bathrooms for rituals

Reports of Islamic extremist groups allegedly praying and washing up in the U.S. Capitol during a government shutdown have sparked outrage among conservative lawmakers.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., and Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, are sounding the alarm over claims that members of the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas-linked individuals from Americans for Justice in Palestine Action (AJPAction) were using Senate bathrooms for ritual cleansing and praying on mats inside the Capitol while the government was at a standstill.

Breitbart reported that these allegations first surfaced through investigative journalist Laura Loomer, who took to the social media platform X to detail the reported activities, including individuals in Islamic attire roaming the Capitol halls.

Claims will be investigated.

Nancy thinks we're all stupid

'SHUT UP!' Enraged Nancy Pelosi goes ballistic when asked why she refused to call in National Guard on Jan. 6

'Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you are a serious journalist?' LOL

U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., went ballistic on a reporter Wednesday when she was confronted about her role in the Capitol mayhem of Jan. 6, 2021, and why she did not have the National Guard present to quell violence.

Outside the Capitol, the former speaker of the House was asked by Alison Steinberg of Lindell TV: "Congresswoman Pelosi, are you at all concerned that the January 6th Committee will find you liable for that?

"Are at all concerned about the January 6th Committee finding you liable for that day? "Why did you refuse the National Guard on January 6th?"

Pelosi, who was obviously disturbed by the questions, snapped at Steinberg.

"SHUT UP!" Pelosi screamed as she pointed her finger at the correspondent. "I did not refuse the National Guard. The president didn't send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you're a serious journalist?"

Pipe bombs at Capitol on January 6 just a fake distraction?

Kash Patel released one pipe bomb document that has investigators questioning the entire January 6 story

FBI lab analysis raises serious questions about bomb timeline

FBI Director Kash Patel transmitted explosive new documents to Congress that completely undermine the official January 6 pipe bomb narrative.

The lab reports obtained by Just the News show both bombs – one planted at the Democrat National Committee and another at the Republican National Committee – were filled with black powder components and equipped with 60-minute kitchen timers.

Here’s the kicker: the FBI lab report never once uses the word "viable" to describe either device. Both bombs were supposedly planted around 8:16 PM on January 5th according to security footage, but they were discovered roughly 16 hours later and never exploded.

"When properly assembled and initiated, an IED of this sort can cause property damage, bodily injury, or death," the lab report stated. But the report offered no clear explanation for why devices with 60-minute timers lasted 16 hours without detonating.

The math simply doesn’t add up. The newly released memos reveal just how incompetent – or deliberately negligent – Chris Wray’s FBI investigation really was. A whistleblower previously told Congress that the FBI waited more than a year to request field offices canvas informants for information about the pipe bombs.

More than a year.

FBI presence on January 6

FBI had 275 plainclothes agents embedded in Jan. 6 crowds, congressional source says

The FBI has acknowledged it had 275 plainclothes agents in the massive crowds on Jan. 6, 2021, more than four and a half years after questions were first raised about the level of FBI involvement that day, Blaze News has learned.

A senior congressional source said the number is not necessarily a surprise, since the FBI often embeds countersurveillance personnel at large events.

But given the FBI’s until-now steadfast refusal to disclose the level of its presence at the Capitol, the figure might still be viewed with skepticism in some quarters.

The news comes in the wake of claims by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Inspector General that the FBI had no undercover personnel in the Jan. 6 crowds.

“We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6,” the DOJ OIG said in an 88-page report released in December 2024.

Depending how one reads “undercover” agents versus “plainclothes agents,” both statements could be true.

The same report disclosed that 26 FBI confidential human sources were in the Jan. 6 crowds, four of whom entered the Capitol. Undercover Metropolitan Police Department officers have acknowledged inciting the crowds by helping protesters climb over barriers, encouraging them to continue on to the Capitol, and applauding those committing vandalism.

Trump making our Capitol Safe Again

Trump deploys 800 National Guard troops to DC to crack down on crime

President Donald Trump on Monday announced he is ordering 800 D.C. National Guard troops to deploy throughout the city in an effort to crack down on crime in the nation’s capital.

“We’re taking our capital back,” he said during a news conference at the White House. “We’re taking it back.”<

Trump also said the federal government would take control of Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department, and “we will bring in the military if needed.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also attended the briefing and said the D.C. National Guard will be “flowing into the streets of Washington in the coming week.”

The DC Police Union, representing over 3,000 officers of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), today acknowledges and supports the President’s announcement this morning to assume temporary control of the MPD in response to the escalating crime crisis in Washington, DC. The Union agrees that crime is spiraling out of control, and immediate action is necessary to restore public safety.

Of course, Democrat Muriel Bowser, mayor, was against it and said crime was down since 2023...tsk, tsk.

Cory Booker and Staffer Raise Security Concerns

Cory Booker staffer detained for unlicensed pistol at Capitol

Authorities recently took a congressional aide linked to Big Mouth Senator Cory Booker (is he still running his mouth in the Senate?) and a key member of this staff since 2013, into custody.

"According to Fox News, Authorities arrested Kevin A. Batts after he and Senator Booker bypassed a standard security screening at the U.S. Capitol.

On a late Monday evening, Senator Cory Booker and his aide, Kevin A. Batts, navigated the corridors of the Hart Senate Office Building. Notably, they bypassed the usual security checkpoint managed by the U.S. Capitol Police.

It was outside the Senate Galleries that Batts disclosed to Capitol Police officers his possession of a firearm. He was then arrested for lacking a valid license necessary for carrying a pistol.

Capitol rules are stringent with no allowances for firearms on the premises, a policy applying universally regardless of one's former law enforcement role or permits from other states. Kevin Batts, in this instance, could not leverage his background as a retired Newark police detective to mitigate the situation."

J-6ers Pardoned

‘I Didn’t Do Anything’

Pardoned ‘January 6er’ Says He Was Railroaded, Rejected Plea Deal

On his first day in office, President Donald Trump on Monday commuted or pardoned all individuals convicted of offenses related to the “events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

Trump’s mass-pardon actions followed then-President Joe Biden’s extensive use of the pardon power. On his last day in office, Biden issued preemptive pardons for the members and staff of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack and for several members of his own family.

Trump stated in his proclamation that the clemency would start the “process of national reconciliation.” On Tuesday, a crowd gathered outside of the D.C. Central Detention Facility in anticipation of the immediate release of the pardoned individuals held there.

American Flag to fly at full-staff at Capitol on Inauguration Day

Speaker Johnson: Capitol flags will fly full-staff at Trump inauguration

CV NEWS FEED // House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-LA, announced Tuesday that U.S. Capitol Building flags will fly full-staff at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Johnson’s decision conflicts with outgoing President Joe Biden’s order that American flags on “all public buildings and grounds” remain at half-staff “for a period of 30 days” following the passing of late President Jimmy Carter last month. Biden’s order will expire on Jan. 28 – eight days after Trump’s inauguration.

“On January 20th, the flags at the Capitol will fly at full-staff to celebrate our country coming together behind the inauguration of our 47th President, Donald Trump,” the speaker wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday morning.

He added that the “flags will be lowered back to half-staff the following day to continue honoring President Jimmy Carter.” [catholicvote.org]

J6 Pardons on the Horizon

‘Need To Rectify That’: JD Vance Lays Out Administration’s Plan For J6 Pardons

Vice President-elect J.D. Vance said Sunday on Fox News that the incoming administration’s plan for Jan. 6 pardons will depend on whether the imprisoned protesters were violent.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecuted over 1,200 individuals from nearly all 50 states in connection with the protest on the Capitol. On “Fox News Sunday,” host Shannon Bream questioned Vance on where the “line” will be drawn when it comes to pardoning those punished.

“I think it’s very simple. Look, if you protested peacefully on January the 6th and you’ve had Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice treat you like a gang member, you should be pardoned,” Vance said.

“If you committed violence on that day, obviously you shouldn’t be pardoned. There’s a little bit of a gray area there, but we’re very much committed to seeing the equal administration of law,” Vance added. “There are a lot of people we think, in the wake of January the 6th who were prosecuted unfairly. We need to rectify that.” [Daily Caller News]

DOJ Inspector General's Report confirmed FBI assets at the Capitol on Jan 6

MAGA Declares Vindication After DOJ IG Report on FBI and Jan. 6 Protest

Supporters of President-elect Donald Trump and his Make America Great Again (MAGA) political movement declared vindication after the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) released a report about the involvement of FBI informants in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot.

The new watchdog report revealed that 26 confidential human sources (CHSs) who were working for the FBI were in Washington D.C., on January 6. The informants were not authorized to enter the Capitol or commit illegal acts, but four of them entered the Capitol building, and 13 others entered the restricted area around it. Despite this, none of these informants have faced prosecution.

Representative Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican who endorsed Trump's 2024 campaign, wrote on X, formerly Twitter, "For years I was called a conspiracy theorist for asking [U.S. Attorney General Merrick] Garland, [FBI Director Christopher] Wray, and [DOJ Inspector General Michael] Horowitz whether government assets participated in J6. Yesterday (December 12) I was vindicated. DOJ IG report confirms there were FBI confidential human sources in the crowd, entering the Capitol, and breaking laws."

Report confirms Trump ordered military assets to Capitol on January 6

New Report Claims Trump Ordered Military Protection for Capitol Before January 6

This is nothing new to me--we all knew it

"A bombshell revelation about former President Donald Trump's actions leading up to the January 6 Capitol incident has emerged as he prepares to return to the White House.

According to The Western Journal, a new report indicates that Trump explicitly ordered then-Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller to deploy military assets to ensure safety during the January 6 certification, but Miller allegedly defied these orders.

The report, titled "On the Failures and Politicization of the January 6 Select Committee," cites transcripts from Department of Defense Inspector General interviews that paint a drastically different picture from the narrative promoted by the Democratic-led January 6 committee.

These documents suggest that Milley's decision to ignore Trump's directive may have contributed to the security failures that day. Former Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley admitted to investigators that he deliberately chose to disregard Trump's directive, stating:
There was absolutely — there is absolutely no way I was putting U.S. Military forces at the Capitol.

January 6 Investigation

The two worst Reprobates

Army secretary, Pentagon stymied National Guard on Jan. 6

Inspector general covered it up, report says

"Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight says top members of Jan. 6 Select Committee should face investigation.

The Pentagon dismissed an order from President Donald J. Trump to use the National Guard to ensure safety on Jan. 6, intentionally delayed Guard deployment for hours, lied about it to congressional leaders, and used its own inspector general to cover it all up, a U.S. House report concludes.

After a two-year investigation, the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight put the blame for failure to get National Guard troops to the U.S. Capitol on former Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy, two Pentagon Army generals, and Acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller."

I have to wonder why investigations take so damn long. Here is the reason:
“Over the past 24 months of this investigation, my subcommittee staff have faced incredible obstacles in pursuit of the truth; missing and deleted documents, hidden evidence, unaccounted-for video footage, and uncooperative bureaucrats,” said U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), chairman of the subcommittee.
