On Thursday, JD Vance walked into the first White House briefing since Karoline Leavitt's departure and called his shot.

JD Vance gave Breitbart's Nick Gilbertson the first question. That wasn't an accident. Vance used the moment to credit Leavitt for one of her most lasting legacies – blowing open the White House briefing room to non-legacy media.

"For too long, this room and I think this city have tried to lock out non-legacy media," Vance said. "They've seen it as a threat to themselves, and we actually think that it’s an amazing way to democratize access to information.”

The legacy press spent decades gatekeeping which voices got access to the president. “If you just look back to the last administration, I mean, even the Democrats in the room — and I know you guys, if you’re being honest, most of you are Democrats — you would have to admit that the level of access, the level of access to the President of the United States, the Vice President, the senior team here, it’s just completely off the charts.”

Meanwhile, organizations that are supposed to be independent like the FBI and the FCC, our radio and television regulator, have also been targeting press freedom under Trump-aligned leadership, with the FBI raiding a reporter’s home and the FCC threatening ABC’s TV licenses after Jimmy Kimmel made a joke about Melania Trump.

The response from some ultra-wealthy and corporate media owners, keen to appease the president, has been chilling: CBS News has been taken over by a Trump ally; CNN may be taken over by the same billionaire; Jeff Bezos has continued to impose cuts and editorial interventions at the Washington Post; and multiple outlets have settled multimillion-dollar lawsuits from the administration to protect their business interests.

Democracy is best served by a robust, thriving free press. But when that freedom is under attack, it falls to a determined few news organizations to ensure the full truth still reaches the public. Owned neither by a billionaire nor a corporation, the Guardian remains dedicated to covering this administration with uncompromising moral and factual clarity – and to keeping trustworthy journalism paywall-free for the world."

Rest assured, the only support/donations they get from Americans must be from liberals and other fake news organizations. Like any media organization, individuals or corporations can file lawsuits against them if they believe published articles contain false information that harms their reputation. However, winning a lawsuit against a major news publication is difficult.

The Guardian Media Bias is "Left," noting that its story selection and wording often critique conservative figures and policies. It generally favors social liberalism, environmental coverage, and progressive politics, rather than strict socialism or class-based worker politics...sure doesn't like Trump and his America First agenda and believe that the press can write anything they damn well please as in their opinion, it's a public interest.

Chris Matthews tells fellow Democrats to distance themselves from socialist wing before election

Veteran political pundit Chris Matthews urged Democrats running for office to publicly reject the Democratic Socialists of America and its platform, warning that failure to draw that line will cost the party in the final stretch of the campaign.

Matthews, appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Wednesday, laid out what he called a straightforward political survival strategy: every Democrat on a ballot who is not a card-carrying member of the DSA needs to say so, loudly and clearly, before voters head to the polls. The DSA, he argued, has done the work for them by publishing exactly what it stands for, and now mainstream Democrats have no excuse for staying quiet.

His comments land at a moment when the DSA's electoral influence is no longer theoretical. Socialist-backed candidates have already unseated sitting House incumbents in primary races this cycle, and the organization's footprint inside the Democratic coalition keeps expanding, whether party leadership wants to acknowledge it or not.

Matthews did not hold back on the broadcast. He framed the DSA's public platform as a gift to every non-socialist Democrat willing to use it, telling the "Morning Joe" audience:

"The DSA has done a favor to non-DSA Democrats, to regular Democrats who are regular members of the party. They've listed what they believe in. Their chair made that clear."

When figures like Matthews and Maher, both longtime fixtures of the center-left media establishment, start warning their own side that the socialist label is politically toxic, the party has a problem that goes beyond messaging.

Pierre Thomas Waits 103 Seconds to Mention the Knife

A Madison officer was stabbed Wednesday while trying to arrest a man caught prowling parked cars. The criminal, Corey Ruiz, 38, was taken to a hospital after the shooting and died there.

ABC World News Tonight anchor Linsey Davis opened with "growing outrage" over the shooting, without once mentioning that an officer had been stabbed.

NBC alone told viewers that public records showed criminal Ruiz with at least 40 criminal convictions, several of them for resisting or fighting officers. Court filings reviewed by CNN show Ruiz pleaded guilty since 2021 to charges including resisting police and battery against an officer.

Bystander video verified by NBC News captured people screaming "he's got a knife" seconds before the shots were fired.

Correspondent Pierre Thomas then spent a minute and forty-three seconds walking through video before he mentioned the officer's injury at all. Even then, Thomas buried it inside a sentence built to protect the suspect, not inform the viewer. He told America that "authorities claim the officer who fired the shot was injured by the knife."

NBC and ABC Blacked Out Trump’s Election Speech and Got a Threat Nobody Saw Coming

NBC and ABC blacked out President Trump's primetime election security address at nine o'clock Thursday night. NBC and ABC had already made their decision hours earlier. Both networks refused to air the speech on their broadcast channels.They chose regular entertainment programming over the President of the United States.

MS NOW, the network that employs former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki, carried the first fifteen minutes of the speech. Then it cut away right as Trump began describing the vulnerabilities in the voting system. CNN treated a national security briefing like a routine press conference.

Only Fox News carried the entire speech from start to finish. CBS at least tried, breaking into regular programming a few minutes late and cutting away before Trump finished. Even then, CBS surrounded the speech with fact-checking before and after, the kind of setup media critics call a "truth sandwich."

Translation: they couldn't let Americans hear the president without a lecture on both sides.

Networks spent a decade lecturing America about protecting democracy. Then they blacked out the president the moment his speech threatened their preferred narrative.

That's not journalism, that's a blackout ordered by people terrified of what the declassified documents actually show.

Jill Biden claims media held her husband to a harsher standard than Trump

Former first lady Jill Biden told a New York audience that the press treated her husband far more harshly than it treats President Trump, a complaint that landed alongside an unscripted interruption from Joe Biden himself and fresh admissions about the family's years of denial over Hunter Biden's drug addiction.

The Biden presidency ended under a cloud of questions about whether the White House misled the country about the president's fitness for office. Jill Biden herself has since admitted she feared her husband was having a stroke on live television during the 2024 debate.

She faulted the White House medical team for failing to catch his cancer. She now concedes the family was in denial about Hunter's addiction while the administration dismissed reporters who asked about it.

These are not the hallmarks of a family victimized by an overzealous press. They are the hallmarks of a family that benefited from a press corps willing to look the other way for years, until the evidence became impossible to ignore.

A Senate Report no one will touch

Fox News and legacy media refuse to publish Ron Johnson's op-ed on COVID vaccine safety findings

Sen. Ron Johnson says every major media outlet in the country, including Fox News, either declined or ignored his request to publish an op-ed laying out what a Senate investigation found about federal officials allegedly concealing COVID-19 vaccine safety signals. So the Wisconsin Republican posted it himself.

Johnson self-published the piece on his X account and his Senate website on June 18, titling it "The story the media, and the government, don't want you to hear." The op-ed draws on a Majority Staff Interim Report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, which Johnson chairs, dated April 29, 2026.

That report, as the Daily Caller News Foundation reported, details how Biden-era health officials allegedly "purposely turned a blind eye toward COVID-19 vaccine safety signals."

The senator named names, not just the left-leaning outlets you'd expect, but Fox Digital and The Wall Street Journal alongside The New York Times, The Washington Post, and USA TODAY. All five, Johnson stated, "declined or ignored requests to publish this op-ed."

The subcommittee's interim report centers on the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, the FDA division responsible for approving vaccines and monitoring their safety after they reach the public. 

Johnson alleges the CBER team received data "for over three months" pointing to dangers associated with COVID-19 vaccines, and that officials shut the analysis down.

His account is specific. Johnson claims Peter Marks, the former CBER director, was briefed that an algorithm used to analyze Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System data would "mask" or cover up adverse events.

When a data analyst flagged the problem, Johnson alleges, officials "ordered the data analyst to 'cease and desist' and then lied to the American public that 'they weren't seeing safety signals.'"

• He heard it from Democratic politicians.
• He read it in mainstream outlets.
• He watched cable news hosts spend years telling their audiences that Trump was a fascist, a traitor, and an existential threat to democracy.
• Allen just took them at their word.

Watch how fast the conversation shifts from "left-wing radicalization" to security failures, mental health, and gun policy. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt put it plainly: Allen "sought to assassinate the President and kill as many top Trump administration officials as possible."

That is the story. The people who radicalized Cole Allen won't say so. But his manifesto already did.

The Letter That Changes the Room--

Trump boycotted the dinner every year of his first term. He skipped 2025. He has called the press fake news at every opportunity for the better part of a decade.

This year the WHCA invited him to be the honoree and he accepted – announcing on Truth Social that he planned to make it "the GREATEST, HOTTEST, and MOST SPECTACULAR DINNER, OF ANY KIND, EVER!"

The press spent two terms covering what they called an unprecedented assault on democratic norms. When Trump skipped the dinner, they held it anyway and used the podium to mock him. The one thing they never expected was for him to actually show up. He is showing up.

That acceptance is why the letter exists.

More than 250 journalists signed it. Dan Rather is 94. Sam Donaldson is 92. These are not young activists or fringe voices. They are the men who defined what a network news anchor looked and sounded like for an entire generation of Americans.

Also signing: former Today host Ann Curry, and organizations including the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the National Press Photographers Association.

Their demand: demonstrate opposition to Trump from the podium...while he sits in the room as the guest of honor.
But their insults never got to happen.

The language was blunt, and it quickly fueled debate over where antitrust policy ends and political targeting begins.

Ellison and the information oligarchs should enjoy it while they can because when Democrats win power we are going to break these anti-consumer, anti-free speech media conglomerates into pieces.

The timing of Murphy’s comments is notable. Democrats are facing persistently low approval ratings, while voter frustration over inflation and rising costs is also creating challenges for Republicans, who remain in control of Washington.

Meanwhile, parts of the business community that have traditionally leaned Democratic — especially in tech and media — are showing signs of unease. Concerns about regulation, taxation, and public criticism are prompting some executives to rethink their political alignment.

A Pattern That Cannot Be Ignored

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner attack on April 25, 2026, was described as the fifth documented attempt on President Donald Trump in less than a decade.

That is not normal politics, no matter how hard the talking heads try to dress it up with fancy words and a straight face.

The earlier incidents included the 2016 Las Vegas attempt by Michael Steven Sandford, the 2024 Butler, Pennsylvania shooting that killed one rallygoer and wounded Trump, and the later killing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk after years of hostile public framing.

The ugly truth is simple: when public life turns into a nonstop campaign of demonization, some unstable people stop hearing debate and start hearing permission.

The media’s attack on Trump did not begin with policy fights. It started with a steady drumbeat that he was a Russian puppet, a threat to democracy, and some kind of secret agent for Vladimir Putin. The Carter Page story, the Steele dossier, the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane probe, and the endless Russia coverage all fed the same image, even though later reports undercut the claims.

The Mueller Report found no criminal conspiracy, and the Durham Report said the FBI lacked an adequate factual basis to open the probe and used a double standard. Yet the damage had already been done.

Once a narrative gets repeated enough times, many outlets treat it like fact, and then act shocked when people believe the poison they poured into the water.

ABC and NBC Sided With a Wanted Murderer Over the Agents Who Stopped Him

ICE agents cornered a federally designated terrorist Tuesday morning – a man wanted for murder in El Salvador.

He tried to run them over with his car. Now ABC and NBC are upset about what happened next. The facts are not in dispute.

ICE agents conducted a targeted vehicle stop near Interstate 5 in Patterson, California, to arrest Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez – a confirmed member of the 18th Street Gang, a State Department-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, wanted in El Salvador for questioning in connection with a murder.

When agents approached the car, Hernandez reversed into a truck, then swung the vehicle forward toward the officers.

ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons did not mince words: "The wanted gang member weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run an officer over. Following their training, our officers fired defensive shots to protect themselves, their fellow agents, and the public."

Dashcam footage confirmed it.

ABC said it showed how "volatile" the Trump administration's immigration enforcement campaign "remains.

What the news media did was find a sympathetic frame, attach an unrelated controversy, make the men and women doing the arresting the story – instead of the federally designated terrorist who just tried to kill them.

Tuesday's ICE agents did their jobs, followed their training, and came home safe.

That's the story ABC and NBC couldn't tell.

Democrats and News Media the problem

The Democrats didn't stumble into inflammatory language. They built the playbook for it.

Democrats used sustained, coordinated efforts to convince millions of Americans that Donald Trump represented something so dangerous that normal democratic opposition wasn't enough.

That framework – Trump as existential threat, as fascist, as someone history would judge harshly for not stopping – didn't stay on television. It traveled.

Two men tried to kill Donald Trump. Both acted after years of that messaging saturated the culture.

Hakeem Jeffries doesn't get to be the arbiter of dangerous rhetoric.

He built his career calling Trump a racial arsonist, pledging to fight in the streets, and cheering on a party that spent a decade telling anyone who would listen that this president was a threat to human civilization. That record doesn't disappear because he showed up on Sunday with a fresh soundbite.

And the mainstream media is a huge contributor to the false rhetoric, never holding Democrats accountable for their caustic deprecation and inflammatory comments.

It's all about hurting President Trump

Bill O’Reilly hit a nerve on NewsNation. He ripped into mainstream coverage of the Iran strikes. Short version: he thinks the press wants this to go wrong.

O’Reilly watched ABC and called it relentlessly negative. He said the reporting left no context about the Iranian regime. He said it felt, to him, like the media wanted America to lose.

He put it bluntly: “They want America to lose.”

And he doubled down: “Right now the press is doing everything it can to root for Iran.”

Those are strong words. He argues the media isn’t rooting for the Iranian people. He says it’s rooting for the regime — and for the political fallout that could hurt President Donald Trump.

O’Reilly picked apart ABC’s segments. “Did 15 minutes last night, did 8 segments every segment negative. And I mean, really negative…every segment. Not one positive word. Not ONE word on how bad the mullahs were.”

He went on: “After watching it, I wanted to surrender, we should surrender to Iran watching ABC News. We lost! That’s how crazy it is. They want Trump BROKEN!” [X]
