Vance and Orbán Declare War on the Globalist Left in Budapest

The Budapest rally was not a diplomatic formality.

Vance called Orbán "one of the only true statesmen in Europe" and told the arena crowd that the two nations together represent "the defense of Western civilization."

"We have got to get Viktor Orbán reelected as prime minister of Hungary," Vance told supporters to loud applause.

He put the choice to Hungarian voters directly: "Will you stand for sovereignty and democracy? Will you stand for Western civilization? Will you stand for freedom, for truth, and for the God of our fathers? Then, my friends, go to the polls in the weekend. Stand with Viktor Orbán, because he stands for you."

Vance described a worldwide conservative revolution with Washington and Budapest at its center – a movement facing what he called a "shared threat from within" in the form of far-left ideology embedded in universities, media companies, and government bureaucracies on both sides of the Atlantic.

His explicit targets: the EU bureaucrats who have withheld billions in funding from Hungary – not over genuine rule-of-law concerns, but because they hate a leader who put his own people first.

EU Billionaires Funneled $2B to Anti-Trump Groups

A new report revealed that five foreign charities have donated just shy of $2 billion into various American nonprofits and policy advocacy groups focused on climate change and political activism.

Americans for Public Trust released a detailed, 31-page report with receipts tracking money from foreign charities to U.S. groups.

It notes that while contributing directly to political candidates is not permitted under federal law, election-related activities like "get-out-and-vote" campaigns, some lobbying efforts, issue advertising and other politically-charged activities, are in play for foreign dollars.

"There's not a question about where it's going and where it is coming from," Americans for Public Trust executive director Caitlin Sutherland told Fox News Digital. "We know that it's foreign money coming into our U.S. policy fights, climate litigation, research, protests, lobbying, you name it."

Prime Minister Dick Schoof has just announced that he would offer his resignation from the Netherlands’ ruling coalition while continuing in a caretaker government, setting the stage for a likely snap election.

Dutch right-wing leader Geert Wilders has pulled his Freedom Party (PVV) from the country's ruling coalition after issuing an ultimatum last week demanding tougher action on curbing the migrant crisis.

With no agreement, Wilders, whose party held the most seats, quit the coalition in The Hague, plunging the Netherlands into political uncertainty.

"The PVV promised voters the strictest asylum policy ever," including a hard-line 10-point plan to "close the borders to asylum-seekers," Wilders told reporters earlier.

He noted that when coalition partners (populist Farmer-Citizens Movement (BBB), the centrist New Social Contract (NSC), and the liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD)) disagreed on the new plans, "I had no choice but to say: We rescind support for this Cabinet."

LONDON/PARIS, Feb 17 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has become the first European leader to say he is ready to put peacekeeping troops in Ukraine, making the commitment ahead of an emergency leaders' meeting in Paris to discuss Europe's role in a ceasefire.

Starmer's comments underlined a growing realization among European nations that they will likely have to play a larger role in ensuring Ukraine's security as Washington works alone with Russia on a potential end to the three-year conflict.

Starmer, who is expected to travel to Washington to meet Trump next week, said on Sunday that Europe was facing a "once in a generation moment" for the collective security of the continent, and it must work closely with the United States.

He said Britain was ready to play a leading role in delivering security guarantees for Ukraine, including being ready to put "our own troops on the ground if necessary."

The end of this war, when it comes, cannot merely become a temporary pause before Putin attacks again," he wrote in the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

Europe Quietly Prepares for World War III

With warnings swirling over a possible war with Russia in a matter of years, NATO's European members have already started laying the groundwork for defenses, should Russian troops set foot on alliance soil.

"Russia is preparing for a war with the West," Bruno Kahl, the head of Germany's foreign intelligence service, said in late November.

But it's not likely to be a large-scale attack into NATO territory, the intelligence chief warned. Moscow could opt for a limited incursion or upping its hybrid warfare tactics to probe the alliance's conviction, Kahl said.

NATO is trying to prepare for both scenarios: an all-out war, and less obvious techniques designed to undermine stability in the alliance's member countries.

Across Europe, NATO is now battling to raise defense spending up and beyond the two percent of GDP requested—but not enforced—by the alliance. Many countries have historically fallen far short of this benchmark in the decades since the end of the Cold War.
