Secretary of State Marco Rubio finally addressed the internet's favorite meme of him sinking into an Oval Office couch, admitting he initially disliked the image but has since come around to the joke.Rubio sat down with Fox News host Lara Trump over the weekend and confronted the photo that has dogged him since February 2025: a shot from a meeting with President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in which Rubio appears to be swallowed whole by White House furniture.
The image, taken during what BuzzFeed described as a tense Oval Office session, launched a meme empire that shows no sign of slowing down.
Rubio's explanation was simple: blame the couch.
