Trump Designates Fentanyl as Weapon of Mass Destruction

President Donald Trump signed an executive order marking fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction on Monday, escalating his war against drug trafficking during his second administration.

The order directs Attorney General Pam Bondi to pursue criminal charges, sentencing enhancements, and sentencing variances in fentanyl trafficking cases, according to a White House fact sheet. It also directs Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent to take actions against financial institutions involved in manufacturing or distributing the illegal sale of fentanyl.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth will work with Bondi and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem to provide enhanced national security resources and update their chemical incident response to include the fentanyl threat.

LAKE WORTH, Fla. (CBS12) — A multi-agency sting dubbed "Operation Unplugged" dismantled a fentanyl pipeline linked to the Zoe Mafia Family, seizing enough drugs to kill thousands.

Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office's (PBSO) Narcotics Task Force say they identified the area of 9th Avenue and South G Street in the City of Lake Worth, also known as "G-Block," as a hub for the distribution of fentanyl, xylazine, crack cocaine, MDMA, bath salts, marijuana, and counterfeit prescription medication.

Due to the uptick in overdoses in the past five years, deputies say they created "Operation Unplugged" to dismantle the drug operation and arrest the drug dealers involved.

Ovidio Guzmán López pleaded guilty to four U.S. federal charges last week during a hearing held in the Northern District of Illinois.

The Trump administration continues to target Mexican criminal organizations, including the Sinaloa cartel. Various Mexican news outlets report that this admission of guilt in high-level crimes such as drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and organized crime allows him to seek a waiver expressly to appeal any sentence that is imposed.

The judicial move could allow Ovidio to receive a relatively moderate sentence for the serious charge of coordinating massive shipments of fentanyl into the US. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York transferred the case to Chicago on July 1, which allows an accelerated resolution by concentrating the federal charges in a single jurisdiction.

Ovidio’s lawyer, Jeffrey Lickman, insists that his client will not only collaborate but also reveal the high-level connections that for years protected the Sinaloa cartel. Ovidio’s cooperation could open a Pandora’s box and could change the way we fully understand the relationship between Mexico’s politicians and criminal organizations.

According to Yoon, most of their plans include things you might suspect in a trade war, like ramping up tariffs on farm imports, or cutting the import of U.S. poultry… but the shocking part is their desire to “suspend cooperation” with the U.S. on fentanyl.

The United States is their number one tarket for fentanyl export.

Trump's "border czar" claims Mexican cartels killed a quarter-million Americans with fentanyl

President-elect Donald Trump has said halting fentanyl trafficking across the southern border is a top priority for his administration, vowing to impose 25% tariffs on all imports from Mexico until the flow of "drugs, particularly fentanyl, and illegal immigrants" into the United States is stopped to his liking.

Trump has claimed fentanyl overdoses kill 300,000 people annually, a toll he said is "probably much more," while incoming "border czar" Tom Homan alleged in a Fox News interview this week that Mexican cartels have "killed a quarter of a million Americans with fentanyl."

Synthetic opioids such as fentanyl have become the leading cause of overdose deaths since 2016, devastating communities across the U.S. and causing a major public health challenge, according to the National Institutes of Health. Mexican cartels are the main source of finished fentanyl in the U.S., officials say.

According to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 334,000 people in the U.S. died from drug overdoses involving synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl, over a nearly 10-year period from 2013 to 2022. As of July, the CDC's latest provisional data recorded over 73,000 fentanyl overdose deaths in 2023.

More than 86% of people convicted of fentanyl trafficking during the 2023 fiscal year were American citizens, according to the U.S. Sentencing Commission. Researchers say drug trafficking organizations hire U.S. citizens because they are subject to less scrutiny.

Mexican Officials Make Record Fentanyl Seizure Days After Trump Tariff Warning

President-elect Donald Trump recently threatened a 25 percent tariff against Mexico if it didn’t act to curb illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking.

Mexican security forces said on Dec. 4 that they had made the largest fentanyl seizure in the country’s history, impounding 1,100 kilograms (1.2 tons) of the synthetic opioid in the state of Sinaloa.

Mexico’s top security official, Omar García Harfuch, said in a statement that more than a ton of fentanyl was seized by officials in Sinaloa state. Several guns were also seized, and two men were arrested, he said.

Former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who handed over power to Sheinbaum in October, repeatedly denied that Mexico was a center for the production of fentanyl despite significant evidence to the contrary.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump recently threatened to levy a 25 percent tariff against Mexico and Canada if either country didn’t do enough to curb illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking into the United States.

A lot of fentanyl, enough to kill 50 million people, was seized by the Border Patrol in Southern California. That is 232 lbs. of the deadly drug worth more than $8 million. The arrest took place at a traffic stop in San Clemente, Orange County, 75 miles inland. It either slipped through the cracks or drug mules brought it in.

Fentanyl is 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin. And it's coming from China into Mexico for distribution into our country. Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw spearheaded using military force to deal with this.

It’s a never-ending war on drugs. The Mexican government does very little to keep the problem down. “This is not a drug problem; this is not a war on drug problem; this is a poisoning problem. And they are killing about 80,000 Americans a year. And the Mexican government does very little to thwart this.”

Rep Dan Crenshaw said, "They’re some of the most capable, most well-funded, most dangerous organizations on the planet, and they’re right there.”

Mexico is under the control of the cartels. And Biden does absolutely nothing!

DEA Administrator Anne Milgram said over the weekend that Congress needs to pass some sort of legislation to crack down on social media companies for allegedly not doing enough to stop the sale of fentanyl on their platforms.

Milgram told NBC News’ Chuck Todd on “Meet The Press” that social media is what she calls “the last mile.”

“The border’s an important part of this conversation because most of the fentanyl that we see coming into the United States is coming in through the southwest border,” she said. “Social media is also a vital part of the conversation. It is what I call the last mile. Because what the cartels need – they’re selling the deadliest poison we’ve ever seen – they need that to … be able to expand and sell more, they need to be able to reach people at massive rates. And that’s what social media’s doing.”

(PresidentialHill.com)- The Hennepin County coroner’s findings and evidence from medical experts support Kanye West’s assertion that George Floyd died as a result of issues connected to fentanyl.

Dr. Ron Martinelli, a forensic criminologist and trained medical investigator is heard telling Candace Owens in a video uploaded by Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing that “there was a ton of evidence that George Floyd drank a poisonous, fatal mix of methamphetamine.”

Martinelli said that three grains of fentanyl on the tip of a lead pencil are enough to kill you and enough to kill me.

The head of the Minneapolis police union says George Floyd’s “violent criminal history” needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a “terrorist movement.”

“What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this,” police union president Bob Kroll told his members. Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.

And Derek Chauvin is serving 245 months in federal prison for the death of George Floyd. And his death was the start of uprisings all over our country with cities being burned, looted and destroyed all in the name of police brutality and racism.

Joe Biden and Democrats see this activity as "no big deal" as Fentanyl seizures under Biden, last year alone, have quadrupled since Fiscal Year 2019 when Trump was in office. 8 U.S. Code § 1326 makes it a crime to enter, re-enter or attempt to re-enter the United States if you have:

• Been denied admission to the U.S.

• Been removed, deported or excluded from the U.S.

• Left the U.S. while under an order of removal or deportation (other than by voluntary departure with permission of an immigration judge or official)

In most cases, re-entering the U.S. illegally can be punished by a fine and/or up to 2 years in federal prison.

Ron DeSantis signs bill for stiffer penalities on fetanyl distribution

On Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed CS/HB 95

"This is his Controlled Substance bill and the minimum mandatory sentence for selling fentanyl in Florida was increased from three to seven years.

"We’re going to do all we can to decrease the prevalence of fentanyl in Florida and that means if you’re dealing fentanyl, you are killing people, and you’re going to be put in jail,” said DeSantis.

If the distribution of methamphetamine results in a person’s death, Florida’s new law makes it a felony of first-degree murder. The penalties are also increased if the sale of a controlled substance occurs within 1,000 feet of a substance abuse treatment facility."

If Biden and the Democrats won't protect American citizens, it will take Republicans to do what they can to curb these drug dealers at pour border.

"Fentanyl is considered to be 50-100 times more potent than morphine and kills tens of thousands of Americans each year. And if the chemical is altered, it can be significantly more lethal.
