$25 million hidden over 7 years

Supreme Court star Tom Goldstein sentenced to six years in prison for hiding millions in poker winnings from the IRS

A prominent Washington lawyer who argued more than 40 cases before the Supreme Court was handcuffed in a Maryland courtroom Friday after a federal judge sentenced him to six years in prison for tax evasion and financial fraud tied to a secret high-stakes gambling habit.

Thomas Goldstein, 56, stood before U.S. District Judge Lydia Griggsby in Greenbelt, Maryland, at the end of a day-long hearing and heard a sentence that caps one of the most dramatic falls in modern legal Washington.

The Democrat and co-founder of the widely read legal news site SCOTUSblog (I read this blog) had asked the court for leniency, his defense lawyers requested a term of supervised release that would let him "repay his debts, address his gambling addiction and contribute to society." Griggsby rejected that request outright.

Prosecutors had pushed for more than eight years. The judge split the difference but made clear she saw no ambiguity in the evidence. Reuters reported that Griggsby told the courtroom, "Every American understands that they have an obligation to pay taxes," and added bluntly: "I don't think this is a close case."

Violence is not a Protest

Portland anti-ICE protester gets 30 months in federal prison for rock attack on officer

A Portland man who hurled a rock at a federal officer's head during an anti-ICE protest last June will spend the next two and a half years in prison. U.S. District Judge Adrienne Nelson sentenced Robert Jacob Hoopes on Thursday to 30 months in federal prison, three years of supervised release, and more than $8,000 in restitution after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a federal employee with a dangerous weapon.

The sentence marks the most significant prison term yet to come out of the months-long siege of Portland's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building, a facility that has drawn nightly demonstrations since last summer. And it sends a straightforward message from federal prosecutors: throw a rock at a cop, go to prison.

Court documents detailed what happened. During a protest outside the Portland ICE building last June, Hoopes threw a rock that struck an officer in the head, opening a gash above the officer's eye. Fox News reported that prosecutors described the injury as "significant." The officer's name has not been publicly released.

Trump wants famous Alcatraz to be a secure prison facility again

Trump puts $152 million behind Alcatraz revival as Democrats reach for any excuse to block it

The White House's fiscal year 2027 budget, released Friday, includes a $152 million request to begin transforming Alcatraz Island back into an operational federal prison.

The budget proposal states the funding would cover "the first year of project costs" to rebuild Alcatraz as a "state-of-the-art secure prison facility."

The request sits inside a broader $1.7 billion push for the Bureau of Prisons, aimed at modernizing facilities and ending a chronic correctional officer shortage.

Alcatraz housed some of the most dangerous criminals in the country, including Al Capone, George "Machine Gun" Kelly, and James "Whitey" Bulger. Robert "Birdman of Alcatraz" Stroud was there too. These were not misunderstood men. These were the worst the country had to offer, warehoused on an island where the geography itself served as a wall, as New York Post reports.

This is not a new idea that appeared from nowhere. Trump floated the concept publicly in May 2025, the administration commissioned feasibility studies, and then-Attorney General Pam Bondi and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum physically visited the island in July to assess the site. Bondi called it a "terrific facility." The budget line is the formal, institutional follow-through. The vision now has a dollar amount attached.

Now the Democrats are saying this is nuts and that Trump has dementia. They love to name call.

CCP is “actively targeting U.S. political systems, all the way down to local elections"

California Chinese man illegal agent of the CCP

Termites don’t announce themselves; they work quietly, invisibly, gnawing at the foundation while the homeowners sleep soundly above. By the time you notice the damage, the structure is already compromised.

For years, Americans have watched with growing unease as reports trickle out about elected officials and their staff maintaining troubling connections to foreign powers. We’ve been told we’re paranoid, xenophobic. You know, supposedly seeing shadows where none exist.

Then a case comes along that proves the shadows are very real indeed.

This week, a California man named Yaoning “Mike” Sun was sentenced to four years in federal prison for acting as an illegal agent of the Chinese Communist Party. Sun, 65, spent years spreading CCP propaganda, conducting surveillance on behalf of Beijing, and—perhaps most troubling—helping to elect a local politician in Southern California.

Sun wasn’t some distant operative working in the shadows; he served as campaign treasurer for Eileen Wang, now the mayor of Arcadia, California. Court documents reveal he was also her fiancé.

Illegals Deported to CECOT

'Body slammed': El Salvador president gives fantastic response to Hillary Clinton complaining of his prison conditions

'Great reply! But careful Nayib, have you heard what Hillary is capable of?'

Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, is responding sarcastically to Hillary Clinton's allegations about his notorious Terrorism Confinement Center known as CECOT, which houses many migrants and gang members deported by President Donald Trump.

The former U.S. secretary of state posted on X an 11-minute video of the PBS Frontline documentary titled: "Surviving CECOT."

"Curious to learn more about CECOT?" Clinton wrote. "Hear Juan, Andry, and Wilmer share firsthand how the Trump administration branded them as gang members without evidence and deported them to the brutal El Salvadoran prison."

Bukele responded in biting fashion, saying: "Madam Secretary Hillary Clinton, If you are convinced that torture is taking place at CECOT, El Salvador is ready to cooperate fully.

"We are willing to release our entire prison population (including all gang leaders and all those described as 'political prisoners') to any country willing to receive them. The only condition is straightforward: it must be everyone.

In the meantime, watch Hillary's video--

With a capacity for 40,000 inmates, CECOT is the largest prison in Latin America and one of the largest in the world by prisoner capacity. Most of those being housed there will eventually be deported to their own countries.

Rosie's daughter Chelsea goes to prison

Karma just caught up with the loudmouth Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O'Donnell spent years attacking President Donald Trump from her Hollywood perch before fleeing the country.

And Rosie O'Donnell just got hit with one nasty problem she never saw coming. Judge sends O'Donnell's adopted daughter to prison after probation violation.

A Wisconsin judge revoked Chelsea O'Donnell's probation on October 22 and sentenced the 28-year-old to prison time after she violated the terms of her probation.

Chelsea violated probation due to sexual assault allegations and failed to demonstrate adequate progress in her drug treatment program, according to a Marinette County Treatment Drug Court official.

"The facts surrounding this request have been staffed with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and have been deemed sufficient grounds to warrant termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program," court documents stated.

Chelsea will serve her sentence at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Rosie O'Donnell asked for prayers on Instagram Wednesday after posting a childhood photo of her daughter.

El Chapo Guzman's son plead Guilty to U.S. Drug Charges

El Chapo’s Son’s Cooperation with U.S. Prosecutors Could Reshape Political Power in Mexico

Ovidio Guzmán López pleaded guilty to four U.S. federal charges last week during a hearing held in the Northern District of Illinois.

At 35 years old, El Chapo Guzmán’s son accepted the charges for operating a continuous criminal organization and conspiring to traffic drugs, including fentanyl, and arms trafficking.

The Trump administration continues to target Mexican criminal organizations, including the Sinaloa cartel. Various Mexican news outlets report that this admission of guilt in high-level crimes such as drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and organized crime allows him to seek a waiver expressly to appeal any sentence that is imposed.

The judicial move could allow Ovidio to receive a relatively moderate sentence for the serious charge of coordinating massive shipments of fentanyl into the US. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York transferred the case to Chicago on July 1, which allows an accelerated resolution by concentrating the federal charges in a single jurisdiction.

Ovidio’s lawyer, Jeffrey Lickman, insists that his client will not only collaborate but also reveal the high-level connections that for years protected the Sinaloa cartel. Ovidio’s cooperation could open a Pandora’s box and could change the way we fully understand the relationship between Mexico’s politicians and criminal organizations.

International criminal network gets demolished

Nigerian scammer gets surprised by Trump’s DOJ after stealing $6 million from American seniors

The Nigerian criminal masterminded a heartless scam that destroyed the lives of hundreds of elderly Americans.

His operation was built on lies, deception, and the exploitation of people who trusted the wrong person at the wrong time.

Akhimie’s crew bombarded senior citizens with fake correspondence claiming to come from Spanish banking officials. The bogus letters promised victims they’d inherited millions from deceased relatives they’d never heard of.

But there was always a catch – victims had to pay upfront "fees" before they could claim their fictional windfall.

Akhimie’s conviction represents just one piece of a much larger puzzle that federal prosecutors have been systematically dismantling.

Seven other criminals from the United Kingdom, Spain, and Nigeria have already been sentenced for their roles in this massive fraud operation.

Crooked Lawyer gets break from Judge

Remember this creep?

Disgraced Lawyer Michael Avenatti Lands Reduced Prison Term

Michael Avenatti, a former high-profile attorney who rose to fame representing porn actor Stormy Daniels against President Donald Trump, was originally sentenced after pleading guilty to bilking his California clients and hiding millions more from the IRS.

He had the sentence vacated in October by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which determined that it was based on calculations of a greater loss to his victims than was actually suffered — and thus was too lengthy.

Senior Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California Judge James Selna,  sentenced Avenatti to 135 months, minus 40 to account for a separate Stormy Daniels fraud sentence.

The court previously ruled that the Stormy Daniels theft was similar in nature, happened in the same time period, and therefore could be considered when deciding the new sentence.

Read about Avenatti the guy that The View said should run for President.

Why is it that anti-Trumpers get breaks from these judges?

Maximum Security Prison to be built by France

France Copies Trump, Builds ‘Supermax’ Prison Overseas

In a surprising move certain to please President Trump and his MAGA supporters, France plans to build a maximum-security prison for drug traffickers and radical Islamists in its overseas territory of French Guiana.

While Democrats like Chris van Hollen and foreign critics have bashed Trump’s effort to send deported illegal alien criminals to foreign countries such as El Salvador, to house them in maximum security prisons there, it seems this major European ally is doing something very similar.

Though unlike Trump’s deal where — for now — only illegal alien criminals deported from the U.S. are sent to a foreign prison, French Guiana belongs to France, and its much smaller prison in the Amazon jungle will house French criminals.

It still significantly echoes the Trump effort.

Democrats' Twisted Crusade

Senate Democrats to bring resolution demanding report on deportation of alleged domestic abuser and suspected MS-13 member

Democrats will vote on a resolution demanding answers from President Donald Trump's administration on conditions in El Salvador prisons, the Washington Examiner reported.

This comes after Kilmar Abrego Garcia was deported in March and sent back to his home country to an El Salvador prison as an illegal immigrant and suspected MS-13 gang member.

The resolution, which will be voted on later this month, will center on El Salvador's treatment of inmates, including at the CECOT mega prison. Although Abrego Garcia isn't referenced by name, the report will include U.S. residents (you notice they don't refer to him as an American now) detained or imprisoned in El Salvador."

The Democrats have taken up Abrego Garcia's cause, claiming that he was the victim of the Trump administration's tyranny. However, the crackdown on illegal immigration has centered on illegal immigrants suspected of a crime, such as Abrego Garcia.

Democrat heir busted

Grandson of famous Democratic Chicago mayor challenges conviction at Supreme Court

An heir to a powerful Chicago political family went before the Supreme Court this week to challenge his conviction for bank fraud.

Patrick Daley Thompson, a former city alderman, was sentenced to four months in prison for lying about his taxes and making false statements to bank regulators. He is the grandson of former Democratic party boss and mayor Richard J. Daley, who was the mayor of Chicago from 1955 to 1976.

The case pivots on what counts as a "false" statement under a federal law that makes it illegal to influence regulators like the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

In 2017, the FDIC shut down an insolvent Chicago bank with ties to Thompson, Washington Federal, and hired a loan servicer to collect the money owed. Multiple people tied to the bank were charged in an embezzlement conspiracy.

Thompson had taken out three separate loans totaling $219,000 plus interest, but the bank never demanded repayment, and Thompson only made one payment of $389.58 on the initial $110,000 loan. Prosecutors claimed during Thompson's trial that the bank gave him favorable treatment, something his lawyers denied.

When the FDIC tried to collect Thompson's debts, he claimed that he borrowed $110,000, and he disputed the full $219,000 amount. Eventually, he settled with the government and paid the $219,000 principal - only to be charged later with making false statements.

California Insanity continues

Blue state violent crime victims ordered to address 'trans' career criminal by preferred pronouns

Tremaine 'Treymane' Deon Carroll transferred out of a California women's prison after being indicted on 2 rape counts

Victims of a transgender-identified, male-born California convict accused of raping fellow inmates at a California women's prison will be forced to police their pronoun usage while recounting the alleged attacks on the stand, per a recent court order.

Tremaine "Tremayne" Deon Carroll, 52, identifies as a woman, and must be referred to using she/her pronouns in court after a Madera County Court judge's ruling, ABC30 reported.

Carroll faces two charges of forcible rape and one of "dissuading a witness from testifying."

"After his first cellmate became pregnant and was moved to [a male-only facility in] Los Angeles, two other cellmates of his had complained that he had raped them, so we have filed rape charges against this inmate," Madera County District Attorney Sally Moreno told ABC30.

Possible Pardons for January 6th Protesters

January 6th defendants anticipate pardons from Trump

After President Trump's historic comeback, will there be pardons for the January 6th prisoners? Some who were convicted over the Capitol riot are already preparing for that possibility.

Multiple January 6th protesters have asked the courts to pause their cases as they await a potential reprieve from the president-elect, the Daily Caller reported.

Throughout the 2024 campaign, Trump often defended the January 6th participants as patriots who have been treated unfairly by the justice system.

Over 1,500 people have been charged in the Justice Department's investigation, and more than 1,000 have already been sentenced. Trump has floated pardons for some of those who entered the Capitol, many of whom were non-violent.

“I am inclined to pardon many of them. I can’t say for every single one, because a couple of them, probably they got out of control,” Trump told a CNN town hall in 2023.

Days before the election, January 6 participants are still being sentenced to prison. Troy Weeks was just sentenced to 21 months in federal prison. Weeks wasn’t the only Jan. 6 protester to face repercussions in the last week, just days before the 2024 election.

Man praying in front of Abortion Clinic put in prison with murderers

Harris rails about Trump 'locking people up' for disagreement--

as DOJ sends Christian pro-lifer to prison for peaceful protest

A Christian grandfather walked into federal prison this week to serve a sentence related to a peaceful pro-life protest while Vice President Kamala Harris (D) caterwauled about her opponent, former President Donald Trump, allegedly threatening to imprison those who "disagree with him."

Around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Calvin Zastrow, 63, arrived at Federal Correctional Institute Thomson in Illinois to begin serving a six-month sentence for participating in a peaceful protest outside a Tennessee abortion clinic on March 5, 2021.

A report from the Daily Wire claimed that Zastrow and others gathered outside the clinic that day, "sat in front of the entrance," "sang hymns," and "urged women not to have abortions." A Department of Justice press release described the incident as a "clinic blockade" that prevented "employees from providing, and patients from receiving, reproductive health services."

Steve Bannon Speaks out from Danbury Prison

Steve Bannon Speaks from Behind Bars: Democrats Sticking with Biden Means ‘We Got the Candidate We Want’

The nation faces a serious national security crisis with Biden

Former White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon, the host of War Room and the former executive chairman of Breitbart News currently serving a four-month sentence in Danbury federal prison in Connecticut, is speaking out from behind bars in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News conducted via email for the first time since he was incarcerated just over a week ago.

Bannon, who agreed to do this emailed question-and-answer with Breitbart News from prison, answered several questions, including most importantly his reaction to the fact that Democrats as a party are now sticking with President Joe Biden as their nominee after Biden’s disastrous debate performance.

In the past day, top Democrats from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to the chairs of the Congressional Black Caucus and Congressional Hispanic Caucus, as well as “Squad” leaders Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN), have made clear Biden is their guy and nothing is changing at the top of the ticket of their party.

Bannon, in comments sure to further inflame tensions on the left, says that means for supporters of former President Donald Trump that “we got the candidate we want” on the other side.

Steve Bannon went SCORCHED EARTH on the eve of becoming a political prisoner 🔥

Bannon goes full heavy metal

Heads to the gulag with both fingers in the air, J6’ers ‘mad respect’ and one last request

"Steve Bannon, an American hero, is about to become even more of a powerhouse after his stint in the regime’s political gulag.

Headed to prison, July 1st, Bannon is defiant, giving the double salute with both fingers up.

He’s earned mad respect from the J6 political prisoners and has left a clear final message for those of us still fighting the good fight against this overreaching regime. Bannon will complete his mission." [wokelish.com]

Steve Bannon ignored the subpoena from the highly politically biased January 6 Select Committee consisting of all Democrats with two RINOS who hated Trump, Liz Cheney and crying Adam Kinzinger whose pnl;y mission was to "get" Trump.

But, but, but, where's Hunter? He did the exact same thing...Contempt of Congress and ignoring a subpoena.

Free the J6 hostages now

Trump on Supreme Court Ruling: Free J6 Hostages

"Hailing Friday's Supreme Court ruling in favor of a Jan. 6 protester against obstruction of justice charges for a "peaceful protest," presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump repeated his call for President Joe Biden to release the Jan. 6 "hostages."

"This happened a few hours ago: The Supreme Court ruled that Biden's Department of Justice has wrongly prosecuted hundreds of Americans for peacefully protesting on Jan. 6," Trump told a rally in Chesapeake, Virginia, in a speech that aired live and in its entirety on Newsmax and the free Newsmax2 streaming platform.

Trump has called the protesters imprisoned without bail or trial from the Jan. 6 Capitol protest "political prisoners" and Biden hostages.'"

Trans Rapist sent back to all Male Prison

Trans detainee 'lives in fear' of reprisals now he's back in an all-male lockup battling rape claims

  • Tremaine Carroll fears 'retaliation' from guards over the double rape allegation
  • He's been sent to Kern Valley, one of California's most dangerous state prisons
  • I would think he should be fearing other inmates.
A transgender detainee who allegedly raped two women inmates at a female prison 'lives in fear' now he's been sent back to an all-male lockup, his attorney says.

Tremaine Carroll, 51, is worried about 'retaliation' in Kern Valley State Prison, the notoriously violent all-male facility in central California he's been moved to, says lawyer Joe Goethals.

Carroll was relocated after two women accused him of raping them in January at Central California Women's Facility (CCWF), where Carroll had been allowed to serve his time as a trans woman.

Carroll in August 2021 became one of California's first biological males to transfer to a women's prison, after persuading officials he was not a danger to CCWF's 2,000 female inmates.
