Portland anti-ICE protester gets 30 months in federal prison for rock attack on officer

A Portland man who hurled a rock at a federal officer's head during an anti-ICE protest last June will spend the next two and a half years in prison. U.S. District Judge Adrienne Nelson sentenced Robert Jacob Hoopes on Thursday to 30 months in federal prison, three years of supervised release, and more than $8,000 in restitution after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a federal employee with a dangerous weapon.

The sentence marks the most significant prison term yet to come out of the months-long siege of Portland's U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building, a facility that has drawn nightly demonstrations since last summer. And it sends a straightforward message from federal prosecutors: throw a rock at a cop, go to prison.

Court documents detailed what happened. During a protest outside the Portland ICE building last June, Hoopes threw a rock that struck an officer in the head, opening a gash above the officer's eye. Fox News reported that prosecutors described the injury as "significant." The officer's name has not been publicly released.

Henry Nowak was 18 years old, a university student, out with his football teammates on the night of December 3, 2025, when Vickrum Digwa stabbed him five times with a Sikh dagger in Southampton and then told the police that Nowak was a racist and they believed him.

Vance called for "righteous anger" and blamed the killing in part on "the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it."

Starmer's office didn't address the substance. They called it foreign interference.

A Downing Street spokesperson complained about "people trying to interfere in our democracy and seeking to stir up division on our streets." Ed Davey of the Liberal Democrats demanded the US ambassador be formally summoned.

Think about what just happened. JD Vance said a young man died because British authorities prioritized a false accusation of racism over the life of a bleeding victim.

Starmer's response was to attack the American making the observation – not the system that let it happen. His citizens are protesting on the streets and he is aresting them.

New York Mayor Calls ICE Agents Cruel While Gang Members Walk Free in His City

New York's new mayor went on national television Thursday to explain why hunting down child predators offends his sense of humanity.

ICE just pulled 206 people with rape and manslaughter convictions off New York streets – and Zohran Mamdani called the agents doing it cruel. Now a democratic socialist born in Uganda is telling you that removing gang members from your neighborhood isn't public safety.

Thursday on MSNBC, Mayor Mamdani told host Jen Psaki exactly where he stands on federal agents removing violent criminals from New York neighborhoods. "I view ICE actions to be cruel and inhumane," Mamdani said. He didn't stop there.

"These are not actions that serve any interest of public safety," he added – about an agency that just pulled 206 people with manslaughter and rape convictions off New York streets. Mamdani has been pushing this line since Day One.

He signed an executive order in February strengthening New York's sanctuary city protections – blocking ICE from entering schools or city property without a judicial warrant.

Between October 2022 and February 2025, sanctuary policies across the country resulted in the release of more than 26,000 criminal aliens that ICE was actively trying to deport.

Jeffries Tries to Turn the Volume Up

Hakeem Jeffries Under Fire for Pledge to Shut Down the MAGA Movement

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries took the stage at a progressive conference and sounded less like a lawmaker and more like a man auditioning for a villain monologue.

He said Democrats must not only defeat what he called “MAGA extremists” at the ballot box, but also “break their spirit.” Jeffries added that the moment is one where “MAGA extremists are going to break the country, or we’re going to break them, and our goal is to break them.”

That kind of language is not exactly the stuff of calm civic healing. It is the political version of grabbing a megaphone and yelling, then acting shocked when people hear you yelling.

Republicans quickly jumped on the comments and said Jeffries was speaking about millions of Americans in a hostile way. Edgar Barrios, a spokesman for House Speaker Mike Johnson, said on X that Jeffries wants to “BREAK the spirit” of 77 million Americans and called it violent language.

Republican congressional candidate Christian Maxwell asked why Democrats always sound so “disgustingly violent,” while Minnesota state Rep. Walter Hudson said the remarks showed “malevolence” at the top of the party.

Joe Gruters, chairman of the Republican National Committee, argued that Democrats were interested in revenge rather than serving the public. In plain English, that is not the kind of reaction a party wants when it claims to be the adult in the room.

Washington, D.C., US Attorney Jeanine Pirro stood before cameras and put the city on notice: teenagers involved in violent mob gatherings, and the parents who let them roam, will face federal prosecution, fines, and jail time.

The warning came after a brawl tore through a Chipotle restaurant in the Navy Yard neighborhood, with video showing youths fighting and hurling chairs inside the business.

"What happened this past Saturday night at Chipotle in the Navy Yard, and what we're seeing increasingly across the district is not only unacceptable, it is violent, it is dangerous, and it is illegal," Pirro said at a press conference, the New York Post reported. "And I am here to tell you it's going to stop."

The incident at the Navy Yard Chipotle was not an isolated flare-up. Pirro described a pattern of "teen takeovers" spreading across the District, violent, chaotic gatherings that have resulted in assaults and property destruction. Her office's response marks a sharp escalation, one that targets not just the juveniles but the adults responsible for them.

Pirro made clear that her office views parental negligence as part of the problem, and intends to treat it as a criminal matter. She invoked federal statutes for contributing to the delinquency of minors, which carry penalties of up to six months in prison.

President Donald Trump accused House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of inciting the most recent assassination attempt against him and called for the New York Democrat to be arrested, escalating a bitter clash over whether Jeffries' combative language helped set the stage for an armed attack at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in April.

Trump made the accusation Thursday in a Truth Social post that reached his 12.6 million followers. He paired the text with images of Jeffries standing beside a sign displaying the words "maximum warfare."

The faces of Trump and aide James Blair, and, three days after Jeffries' remark, surveillance footage that Fox News Digital reported showed suspect Cole Allen rushing a Secret Service checkpoint at the Washington Hilton with a weapon in hand.

The post asked a pointed question: "Should Hakeem Jeffries be charged with inciting violence?"

At a news conference in late April, Jeffries defended his use of "maximum warfare" and refused to walk it back amid GOP backlash. He told reporters bluntly:

"I don't give a d*** about your criticism."

That’s the part that set people off. At a time when political violence is already a real concern, many viewers said celebrities should cool it down instead of pouring gas on the fire. If you care about keeping the temperature down, this is not how you do it.

'No Kings' rallies erupt into violence in Portland, Los Angeles, and Dallas as protests spread nationwide

Thousands of anti-Trump demonstrators filled streets across the country Saturday under the banner of "No Kings", and in at least three cities, the marches turned violent, with protesters hurling cement blocks at federal agents, clashing with police, and forcing officers into riot gear.

Near Mar-a-Lago, the scene took a different kind of turn when vulgar female protesters lifted their shirts outside the president's Florida residence in what the Post described as a lewd display directed at the president's residence. Whatever political message that was meant to convey, it is unlikely to persuade anyone who was not already persuaded.

The protests, organized against the Trump administration, stretched from Portland, Oregon, to New York City. But the sharpest confrontations played out in Los Angeles, where Department of Homeland Security agents deployed tear gas after demonstrators attacked them outside a federal detention facility.

A federal agent was attacked and hospitalized Friday during an anti-ICE protest in downtown Los Angeles after suspects assaulted the agent and then disappeared into the crowd of marching demonstrators.

The LAPD confirmed the incident in a post on X before 1 p.m., noting that the suspects who carried out the attack melted back into the protest — a tactic that makes the march itself a shield for violence.

"Suspects who attacked the Federal Agents have blended into the March."

The LAPD also confirmed that the Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to treat the injured agent, who was transported to a hospital in unknown condition. Police did not specify which federal agency the agent worked for, and as of Friday afternoon, it remained unclear whether any arrests had been made in connection with the attack.

The protest, described by local outlets as a student walkout, blocked traffic in downtown L.A. and included acts of vandalism at the Federal Building. Demonstrators also threw items at police.

"I barely saw it for a quarter of a second before it just came straight through," Plant told KCRA.

The victim added to the station that while he was able to pull off the two-lane highway, he had to ask Siri to call 911, as he had no idea what hit him after it crashed through his windshield.

"My eyes were already starting to close up, so I couldn't even look at the phone if I wanted to," Plant noted to KCRA. Turns out that a piece of white balloon was stuck in the shattered glass as first responders arrived, the station said.

Plant told KCRA he was taken to a hospital where medical staff spent hours removing shards of glass from his face and eyes.

1. Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian national living in the U.S. on an expired visa, was arrested on federal charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault and a hate crime after allegedly setting fire to people at a pro-Israel event in Boulder
2. Emiliano Garduno-Galvez was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at law enforcement during anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. According to the agency, Garduno-Galvez had been previously deported and has a criminal history, including grand theft and a DUI.
3. During an immigration enforcement operation in Bellevue, Nebraska, Hurtado-Cariaco launched a "brutal and premeditated assault" on a female ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agent and an FBI agent. The agency said that Hurtado-Cariaco threw the ICE agent to the ground, slammed her head into the pavement, ripped off her body armor, and made repeated and physical violent contact. The agent survived but sustained serious injuries to her head and arm and was treated at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
4. Also facing deportation is Indian illegal alien Harjinder Singh, who was arrested on August 12 after a Florida Turnpike crash in which investigators allege he made an unlawful U-turn with a semitruck, causing a wreck that killed three people.
5. ICE arrested William Alexander Telles Amaya, a 35-year-old criminal alien from El Salvador, whom the agency described as a "habitual child predator." ICE said that Amaya has been convicted three times for child sex offenses, including aggravated sexual assault of a child in April 2006, failure to register as a sex offender in May 2015, and sexual indecency with a minor in July 2025.
6. Dallas, ICE arrested Cuban illegal Yordanis Cobos-Martinez on Sept. 10. According to the agency, Cobos-Martinez has a long criminal history, including child sex abuse, grand theft of a motor vehicle, false imprisonment and carjacking. The agency said that Cobos-Martinez was arrested by Dallas police for allegedly using a machete to behead a merchant he had argued with. The agency said the murder took place in front of the merchant’s spouse and child and that Cobos-Martinez then kicked the head of the victim "around like a soccer ball."

Turning Point USA leaders quickly blamed the bloody violence on anti-fascist agitators as footage showed demonstrators trying to break through police barricades after the campus event for the group was kicking off late Monday.

“Right now at our Turning Point USA campus tour stop at UC Berkeley… Antifa is breaking through police barricades and threatening our event attendees,” TPUSA chief of staff Mikey McCoy said on X.

As the violence erupted, one disturbing clip showed a man in a red “Freedom” T-shirt with blood gushing from his face. An Antifa terrorist shouts out, "White boy, you're bleeding."

Chicago police are on the hunt for a man who they say stabbed a woman in the chest without provocation on a train platform near the University of Illinois Chicago Saturday night.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was sitting on a bench at the train station when he allegedly approached her and plunged the knife into her chest at the UIC-Halsted Blue Line platform.

The suspect, described as a Black male who stands about 6 feet tall and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds, left on foot, headed northbound on South Morgan Street, according to city police.

According to Homeland Security officials, Customs and Border Protection's Operation Midway Blitz campaign has resulted in a 16% drop in murders, 35% reduction in shootings and 20% fall in transit crime in the Windy City since it kicked off in the second week of September.

And speaking of taking shots at innocent people, the teachers' unions are proving themselves to be more dangerous than ever when it comes to the impact they have on young minds.

The indictment of former FBI Director James Comey represents a long-overdue step toward restoring accountability and the rule of law in our justice system. For too long, Comey has escaped consequences for his role in perpetuating the Russia collusion hoax that undermined a duly elected president.

The charges of making false statements to Congress and obstructing a congressional proceeding are not political retribution or revenge on the part of President Trump, nor are they an example of the weaponization of government, as the Left is now hypocritically screaming.

The charges are the result of following evidence wherever it leads, regardless of political affiliation or former position within the government."
