House sends $70 billion immigration enforcement bill to Trump after razor-thin 214-212 vote

House Republicans muscled a nearly $70 billion immigration enforcement funding bill to President Donald Trump's desk on Tuesday, clearing the chamber on a 214-212 vote that required near-total party unity and zero Democratic support.

The legislation funds Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Border Patrol for three years, a timeline designed to take the fight off the table through the next election cycle and beyond.

Not a single Democrat voted yes. One Republican, Rep. Kevin Kiley of California, sided with the opposition. Every other GOP member held the line.

The bill caps a monthslong standoff in Congress that began when Democrats refused to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Republicans responded by using a procedural maneuver to bypass the Senate filibuster and pass the package without a single vote from across the aisle.

The Senate cleared its version last week during an overnight session, 52-47, with Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska the only Republican to break ranks. Now the bill heads to the president, as the Associated Press reported, for what is expected to be a swift signature.

By September 30, CBP expects 250 miles of new barriers completed – more than 10 miles of that built in just the last 50 days.

Online reports said the driver, now "suspected of killing three people in a DUI crash on the 10 freeway in Ontario, CA," was revealed to be "an Indian illegal alien."

He is in custody now in San Bernardino County, where Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on him.

Illegal immigrants were behind the attack on a Border Patrol convoy that sparked a dangerous car chase and riot in Chicago, officials confirmed Wednesday while decrying the “growing and dangerous” trend of violence against federal agents.

Venezuelan nationals Yonder Enrique Tenefe-Perez and Luis Gerardo Pirela-Ramirez, who are in the US illegally, were identified as the suspects accused of ramming into a Border Patrol SUV driving through Chicago’s Southeast Side Tuesday morning, the Department of Homeland Security told Fox News.

The pair were arrested soon after the alleged attack, but not before it spread chaos across the neighborhood and culminated in a car wreck and a mob of protesters hurling objects at the federal agents.

Police arrived to help the federal agents and tear gas was eventually fired into the crowd, and law enforcement was able to regain control of the situation.

“As Border Patrol arrested the subjects and attempted to secure the scene a crowd began to form and eventually turned hostile and eventually crowd control measures were used,” the DHS said.

Newsom, who is rumored to have presidential aspirations and has become one of the most outspoken critics of President Donald Trump, held the event, which he labeled "Liberation Day," to announce plans to respond to the GOP’s redistricting push in Texas.

In a social media post shortly before the rally, Newsom predicted that "Donald Trump and [Texas Governor] Greg Abbott are going to have a very bad day today." His maps are redrawn to have five mroe Democrat districts.

But the bad news was the optics when over a dozen armed and masked Border Patrol agents were just outside the rally. The agents could be seen leading a man away in handcuffs as onlookers shouted angrily...something about Democrats who seem to love illegals who are all criminals by definition.

Drug tunnel from Mexico to San Diego disabled

US Border Patrol agents recently discovered and disabled a nearly 3,000-foot-long narcotics smuggling tunnel sitting beneath the US-Mexico border.

Agents found the tunnel — which linked Tijuana and San Diego — in early April while it was actively under construction.

U.S. Army taking control of Federal Land at part of border

The U.S. Army will take control of almost 110,000 acres of federal land along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Department of the Interior (DOI) announced on Tuesday that the land would be transferred to the the Department of the Army to support U.S. Border Patrol for a period of three years.

Why It Matters--
The land transfer marks a significant escalation in the federal government's efforts to address unauthorized immigration and transnational crime.

According to officials, shifting control of the area to the Army will allow for increased patrols, faster infrastructure development and more direct support for U.S. Border Patrol operations.

Officials say the change is essential for curbing illegal migration, narcotics trafficking and human smuggling.
