Small embassies to be shut down

Trump Administration to Close 5 US Embassies and Consulates

President Trump’s administration is preparing to close several smaller U.S. embassies and diplomatic offices around the world in a major State Department shake-up.

The move could save taxpayers millions while significantly reshaping America’s overseas presence. Five Locations Targeted.

The State Department informed Congress that it intends to close five diplomatic locations. The list includes the U.S. Embassy in St. George’s, Grenada. American consulates in Nagoya, Japan, and Medan, Indonesia, are also expected to close. The administration also plans to shut down the American Presence Post in Winnipeg, Canada. An embassy branch office in Douala, Cameroon, is included in the plan as well.

The department announced earlier this year that it would permanently close the U.S. consulate in Peshawar, Pakistan.

Palm Springs kicking out Swap Shop and Drive-In Theater

and long-time flea market and drive-in theatre are screwed.

A retail flea market and drive-in theatre in Palm Beach County is set to close

According to a statement obtained by WPBF 25 News on Friday, the Lake Worth Drive-In Theatre and Swap Shop, located at 3438 Lake Worth Road in Palm Springs, will close on Friday, Oct. 3.

The Swap Shop’s final day of operation is Tuesday, Sept. 30.

“Due to restrictions by the Village of Palm Springs, (they have re-written their codes I have been told) which does not permit Flea Markets or Outdoor Theaters within its city limits, we are unable to continue operating at this location.

Despite our efforts to work with the city to keep the flea market open, we were unable to secure approval,” the Swap Shop said in a statement.

Palm Beach County Property Appraiser records note the property has been owned by the Swap Shop since April 2003.

Democrats and their Ideological BS

Dem ROASTED Over LIES About Why Stores Are Closing

The persistent refusal of the liberal establishment to acknowledge the devastating consequences of their soft-on-crime policies has reached a new level of absurdity, perfectly exemplified by Washington Representative Pramila Jayapal’s recent comments.

Following the announcement that Kroger would be closing several supermarkets in her own state—a direct result of rampant, unchecked shoplifting and criminal activity—Jayapal did not express concern for the communities losing access to groceries or the employees losing their jobs.

Instead, she engaged in a breathtaking display of ideological blindness, blaming the closures on “corporate greed.” This response is not just misguided; it is a deliberate and dangerous obfuscation of reality that is actively harming American cities and towns.

The liberal media and its allies, like Jayapal, operate from a playbook that prioritizes narrative over truth. They cannot admit that the decriminalization of theft and the systematic dismantling of law enforcement, policies often championed by the progressive left, have direct and severe consequences.

As the original article correctly notes, “grocery stores operate on an extremely slim profit margin, so even a small amount of theft can have a devastating effect on a company’s bottom line.”

For a corporation like Kroger, which has a fiduciary “obligation to its shareholders,” keeping stores open in areas where they are financial liabilities due to theft is simply not feasible.

Major US banks closing branches - is YOURS affected?

Major banks closed 65 locations across the country in just three weeks.

Bank of America and US Bank led the closures, each shutting down 11 locations.

That was the most of any bank during this period and consistent with their high branch closure numbers for the year. BofA has shut 132 so far in 2024.

Wells Fargo, Associated Bank and Citizens Bank also closed locations in the period October 15 to November 5.

California saw the largest concentration of closures, losing ten branches during this time.
