And get ready to work up an appetite, as art appreciation and all that walking around can burn some serious calories. Luckily for all lovers of art and the finer things, there are many great places to grab a bite in the downtown Lake Worth Beach area.

From fine dining to grab-and-go, there are dozens of restaurants within walking distance of (or practically on top of) all the art action that are perfect for fueling up before, grabbing a snack in the middle or relaxing and refueling post chalk-art infusion.

Governor Ron DeSantis stood with restaurant owners and employees at a Florida steakhouse Tuesday, assuring them he will not allow them to be shut down amidst the pandemic. The news conference took place at Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach.

"Government doesn't have the right to put people out of work," said DeSantis.

Yesterday there was an article in the Palm Beach Post about small businesses in downtown Lake Worth (Beach), struggling during this pandemic. It was a great little story written by Jorge Milian. A little later, I called the restaurant located at the corner of S. Dixie Highway and Lake Avenue to order a take-out.

The owner, Tenar Yontem is keeping his business opened during this coronavirus for take-out and delivery in order to keep his eight workers employed. This is a special owner with heart. He said that after this coronavirus is over, he will have a re-grand opening...a big party.

Please support Lake Worth businesses that remain open.

Today's Palm Beach Post featured an article on CJ's on Lake Avenue in Lake Worth. Investor and commercial realtor, David Kislin bought the property for $1.8 million, the highest price paid per square foot for a building in downtown Lake Worth.

Real estate broker, Chris Fleming, says that Kislin's goal is to attract the younger crowd of professionals. I only hope that it will have GOOD food. And I sure don't miss that creepy barker they used to have planted in front of C.J.'s.

Two Lake Worth Restaurants failed Health Inspections

"Two Lake Worth restaurants and one in Palm Springs were closed the week ending Aug. 26 after failing inspections."

I always think it's usually the lower end restaurant that has problems but certainly my theory is shot to hell when a restaurant of the caliber of Couco Pazzo is closed.

"Inspectors found a total of 29 violations, including eight high-priority, at El Limon at 11 N. H Street in Lake Worth Aug. 20-21; a total of 10 violations, including three high-priority, at Couco Pazzo at 915 Lake Avenue in Lake Worth Aug. 22-23; and a total of 26 violations, including six high-priority, at McKenna’s Place at 4068 Forest Hill Blvd. in Palm Springs Aug. 21."

Remember Chrissy Benoit?

She had a restaurant on Lake Avenue for years, Havana Hideout, and then moved operations to  Boynton Beach about 4 years ago or so calling her new restaurant The Little House.  She got into financial trouble by not paying the required amount of sales tax to the State.

On Monday, she turned herself into the Palm Beach County jail. She posted bond and is now out.

Last night, the owners of Farmer Girl Restaurant, that serves the best "home-cooked" dinner around, were honored with a Proclamation delivered by Mayor Pam Triolo for giving back to the community with their free Thanksgiving dinners for the homeless and the poor.

He kept his doors open on Thanksgiving Day and cooked for all those who were in need of a hot dinner. This past Thanksgiving Day ended the 32 year tradition and 80 year old Pete will now be home enjoying and relaxing with his family on that special day.
