$25 million hidden over 7 years

Supreme Court star Tom Goldstein sentenced to six years in prison for hiding millions in poker winnings from the IRS

A prominent Washington lawyer who argued more than 40 cases before the Supreme Court was handcuffed in a Maryland courtroom Friday after a federal judge sentenced him to six years in prison for tax evasion and financial fraud tied to a secret high-stakes gambling habit.

Thomas Goldstein, 56, stood before U.S. District Judge Lydia Griggsby in Greenbelt, Maryland, at the end of a day-long hearing and heard a sentence that caps one of the most dramatic falls in modern legal Washington.

The Democrat and co-founder of the widely read legal news site SCOTUSblog (I read this blog) had asked the court for leniency, his defense lawyers requested a term of supervised release that would let him "repay his debts, address his gambling addiction and contribute to society." Griggsby rejected that request outright.

Prosecutors had pushed for more than eight years. The judge split the difference but made clear she saw no ambiguity in the evidence. Reuters reported that Griggsby told the courtroom, "Every American understands that they have an obligation to pay taxes," and added bluntly: "I don't think this is a close case."

U.S. Pardon Attorney gets grilled by Senator Hawley

Elizabeth Oyer, fired by Todd Blanche
Elizabeth Oyer was appointed as the U.S. Pardon Attorney in April 2022 by President Joe Biden

GOP senators confront former Biden pardon attorney over clemency push for Dylann Roof, federal death row inmates

Republican senators turned a confirmation hearing for acting Attorney General Todd Blanche into a sustained confrontation with the former Biden administration pardon attorney who recommended clemency for all 40 federal death row inmates, including the man who walked into a Charleston, South Carolina, church in 2015 and shot nine Black parishioners to death during Bible study.

Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri led the charge Thursday on Capitol Hill, pressing Elizabeth Oyer over a 73-page memorandum she authored in November 2024 that urged President Joe Biden to spare every inmate on the federal death row.

Democrats had called Oyer as their chief witness against Blanche's nomination. By the time Republicans finished questioning her, the witness they summoned had become the hearing's central liability.

The exchange, reported by Fox News Digital, laid bare a question that should trouble every American who believes victims matter more than their killers:

Hawley went straight at the most indefensible names on Oyer's list. Dylann Roof murdered nine parishioners at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. Robert Bowers killed 11 Jewish worshipers at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh in 2018. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev carried out the Boston Marathon bombing. Oyer recommended clemency for all three.

How did a senior Justice Department official produce a 73-page clemency recommendation that, according to a DOJ report cited during the hearing, devoted just three paragraphs to the grievances of victims' families?

Leo Terrell at Club 47

Leo Terrell is a former Democrat and Fox News contributor that now serves as the Department of Justice senior counsel in the civil rights division. He is the figure behind the Trump administration’s efforts to target 10 academic institutions across the country over claims of antisemitism.

Terrell was tapped in January by President Donald Trump to serve as senior counsel to Harmeet K. Dhillon, the assistant attorney general for civil rights in the Justice Department.

Terrell has since become an outspoken voice in the administration, heading up the department’s Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism. That task force has led the charge against academic institutions that the administration claims are enabling antisemitism.

“Leo is a highly respected civil rights attorney and political analyst,” President Trump said of him in January, 2025. “Leo will be a fantastic advocate for the American People, and ensure we will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Mississippi attorney looked manic and wet in his mug shot photo

Daniel Sidney Dale

Mississippi Attorney Arrested After Being Caught Smuggling Contraband To Murder Suspects

A Mississippi attorney is in hot water after attempting to smuggle a shocking amount of drugs, electronics and other forbidden items in a silver brief case during a visitation session to detainees Antonio Harness Jr and Marcell Cornelius Martin, identified by affidavits. Both detainees are being held on unrelated murder charges.

Law enforcement caught him handing a cell phone and a brown envelope to Martin and Harness, whom he claimed were clients — though his relationship with the murder suspects remains unclear, as different outlets have stated he falsely presented himself as legal counsel.

Dale was allegedly posing as legal counsel for a number of Hinds County detainees when police allegedly caught him with the contraband, which included cell phones, cigarettes, chargers, blunt wraps and what appears to be cannabis, according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones. Prosecutors charged Dale with two counts of conspiracy and three counts of introduction of contraband to a correctional facility.

Dale apparently appeared to be soaking wet in a gray suit and loosened tie after police arrested and took a picture of him. It is unclear how Dale allegedly stashed the contraband on his person when entering the jail considering the sheer volume of products police said they found him with.

Besides his suit presumably covered in sweat in his initial mugshot, the 49 year old attorney had a crazed look, with his eyes bulging, raising more questions about his own mental state.

Lake Worth lawyer disciplined

Bar report: Florida Supreme Court disciplines 10 attorneys

And one in Lake Worth

The Florida Supreme Court recently disciplined 10 attorneys — revoking the license of two, suspending five, admonishing one and reprimanding two. Court orders are not final until time expires for the disciplined attorney to file a rehearing motion.

The attorneys represent law practices from across the state. Disbarred lawyers may not reapply for admission for five years and are required to undergo a rigorous background check, as well as retake the Bar exam. Attorneys suspended for 91 days and longer must demonstrate that they have been rehabilitated in order to regain their law licenses.

Lake Worth
Laitil Ovincy, public reprimand by publication and completion of both The Florida Bar’s Ethics School and Professionalism Workshop. Admitted to practice in 2014, Ovincy neglected cases and failed to properly communicate with his clients in two separate immigration proceedings.

He is a lawyer serving Lake Worth in Family, Immigration and Nationality and Marital and Family cases.

Hunter Threatens Fox News

Hunter Biden Issues Threat

The legal representatives of scandalous First Son Hunter Biden have reportedly issued a threat to Fox News, indicating imminent legal action over claims of unauthorized commercial use of the President’s son’s persona.

Attorney Mark Geragos, representing Biden, has informed Fox Corporation and Fox News Digital of their intent to pursue compensation for allegations of “conspiracy and subsequent actions to defame [Hunter] Biden and paint him in a false light, the unlicensed commercial exploitation of his image, name, and likeness, and the unlawful publication of hacked intimate images of him,” as reported by NBC News.

Geragos accused the network of persistent attacks on his client for the purpose of enhancing their ratings and increasing their revenue.

Mark Geragos said the O.J. Simpson jury got it right. He was the defense lawyer and best known for defending high-profile clients including Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Scott Peterson, the guy convicted for murdering his wife Laci.

January 6 Defendant says cards stacked against him

January 6th Defendant Alleges Defense Attorney Colluded with DOJ

Daniel Morrissey, a defendant involved in the events at the Capitol on January 6th, is facing dire circumstances as he accuses his former defense attorney and the Department of Justice (DOJ) of conspiring to withhold crucial evidence that could have cleared his name.

This alleged collusion has left Morrissey homeless and financially devastated.

Morrissey asserts that his attorney, Anthony Solis, worked with the DOJ to prevent him from accessing important video evidence that could have potentially exonerated him in connection to the Capitol events.

As a result of this purported misconduct, Morrissey is now on the brink of eviction and homelessness due to his deteriorating financial situation.

Gross Incompetence of former St. Louis Circuit Attorney

Soros-Funded Prosecutor Incompetence Exposed in AG Report

The Missouri Attorney General’s report has exposed the gross incompetence and failure of Kimberly M. Gardner, the former St. Louis Circuit Attorney. Gardner’s reign was nothing short of a disaster, leading to a sharp decline in the effectiveness of the Circuit Attorney’s Office and a surge in crime rates in the city.

The report paints a grim picture of Gardner’s tenure, with a dramatic decrease in the prosecution of criminal cases under her watch. This led to an alarming near-collapse of the city’s criminal justice system. To add insult to injury, Gardner’s administration was found guilty of misusing taxpayer funds by paying an unlicensed attorney for legal advice. Talk about a slap in the face to hardworking Americans!

But that’s not all. Gardner’s office stands accused of countless violations of the Crime Victims’ Rights Act, compromising the rights and welfare of victims in criminal cases. This is a clear violation of the trust placed in her by the people of St. Louis.

Is every Democrat in office corrupt? Sickening!

The "Rat Bastard"

Joseph Flynn Calls Lin Wood “Rat B*stard” After He’s Named As A Witness In Georgia Case Against Trump

Remember the Nick Sandmann case? Lin Wood was his attorney and got a settlement of $275 million from CNN

But things have deteriorated since then, big time!

“The conduct of Mr. Wood, albeit not in my jurisdiction, exhibited a toxic stew of mendacity, prevarication, and surprising incompetence,” Judge Craig Karsnitz wrote. He called an election lawsuit that Wood filed in Georgia “textbook frivolous litigation” and said a complaint that Wood filed in Michigan “would not survive a law school civil procedure class.”

Wood, who retired from practicing law earlier this year to avoid disbarment, (because of the Rittenhouse case) worked as a member of Trump’s legal team in the aftermath of the 2020 election and heavily promoted claims that the election had been rigged against the former president.

Now he's going to be a witness for the prosecution in Fulton County, GA for Fani Willis.

General Michael Flynn’s brother Joseph tonight addressed the new development on “X,” referring to attorney Lin Wood as a “Rat Bastard.”

Trump lawyer sets the record straight on Mike Pence

Pence, Trump Attorney Clash Over What Trump Told His VP Ahead of Jan. 6

Donald Trump’s defense attorney, John Lauro, says the former president never asked Mike Pence to overturn the will of the voters in the 2020 election, but only wanted the former vice president to “pause” the certification of votes to allow states to investigate his claims of election fraud.

Speaking on several Sunday morning news shows, Trump attorney John Lauro said Trump was within his First Amendment rights when he petitioned Pence to delay the certification on Jan. 6, 2021.

“The ultimate ask of Vice President Pence was to pause the counts and allow the states to weigh in,” Lauro said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” He added that Trump was convinced there were irregularities in the election that needed to be investigated by state authorities before the election could be certified.

What happened to Attorney/Client Privilege?

When it comes to bringing down Trump, there is no attorney/client privilege.

Trump’s Legal Team Prepares to File Motion to Dismiss Jack Smith’s Case Citing Prosecutorial Misconduct

Trump’s legal team is preparing to file a motion to dismiss Special Counsel Jack Smith’s case citing prosecutorial misconduct.

Trump’s lawyers will ask Judge Aileen Cannon to unseal Obama-appointed Judge Beryl Howell’s order obliterating Trump’s attorney-client privilege with his lawyer Eric Corcoran.

Via RealClearInvestigations reporter Paul Sperry: Insiders say Trump’s new legal team preparing to file motion to dismiss case citing prosecutorial misconduct & will ask Judge Cannon to unseal Obama-appointed Judge Howell’s order breaching attorney-client privilege b/t Corcoran and Trump and declare notes inadmissable.

Judge Howell flipped Trump’s own lawyer Eric Corcoran into a witness when she obliterated Trump’s attorney client privilege in a ruling. Attorney-client privilege refers to a legal privilege that works to keep confidential communications between an attorney and his or her client secret. This is the name given to the common law concept of legal professional privilege in the United States.

D.C. Bar’s disciplinary counsel recommended disbarring Giuliani

Crooked and Woke DC Bar Recommends Taking Away Rudy Giuliani’s Law License

The corrupt actors running the corrupt DC Bar have recommended taking Rudy Giuliani’s law license away.

"We now know that the FBI started surveilling Rudy (we believe illegally) as soon as he became President Trump’s attorney. It’s not legal to infringe on the client-attorney privilege but today’s corrupt DOJ has no problem doing it.

For attempting to save his country, again, Rudy Giuliani is being targeted by far-left communists running our country’s Capital city."

Trump hires former Florida Solicitor General to represent him with the DOJ/FBI raid

Trump Ready for Slugfest Over Raid-Hires Former Florida Solicitor General

"Pres. Trump has hired Chris Kise, Florida’s former solicitor general, and legal street fighter extraordinaire, to handle the Mar-a-Lago investigation and battle the Department of Justice and the FBI on his behalf.

Kise began negotiations with Trump shortly after the raid, and his hiring came at a critical point for the former president. His legal team has been facing recent criticisms for its handling of the matter, including an inability to address basic administrative tasks and timeliness.

So far, Trump’s legal team has argued that he can declassify documents and that, as a former president, he is not bound by the same laws as a lay person. This argument is based on the idea that presidents have extensive and unregulated power to declassify documents, raising serious legal questions. The team also argued that some of the documents in question are protected under attorney-client privilege. Trump has framed the manner as a bookkeeping issue with the National Archives."

NY District Attorney Quits--Can't bring case against Trump to trial

Disgraced Prosecutor In Trump Criminal Probe Tells On Himself In His Resignation Letter

Former federal prosecutor, Mark Pomerantz, led the Manhattan DA’s criminal investigation of former President Donald Trump and has now resigned.

“His financial statements were false, and he has a long history of fabricating information relating to his personal finances and lying about his assets to banks, the national media, counter-parties, and many others, including the American people,” Pomerantz reportedly wrote.

If that is the case Mr. Pomerantz is the worst attorney in the world. How is it he had the type of evidence he claimed to have and was not allowed to take the case to trial?

It was a witch hunt and the new DA wanted nothing to do with it.

Democrats get away with a lot of slanderous crap and a politician has to take it.

Election Shyster, Marc Elias

Meet one mastermind of the 2020 election scandal: Hillary Clinton’s lawyer

Marc Elias the Democratic National Committee’s election lawyer and legal adviser to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, filed more than 50 lawsuits around the country challenging state election laws in advance of the 2020 presidential election.

In a 2018 Tweet, President Donald Trump referred to Elias as the Democrats’ “best Election stealing lawyer.”

Elias was also a key player in the Russia collusion hoax. As the attorney for both the DNC and Clinton campaign, he helped bankroll research by Fusion GPS that created the bogus “Steele dossier” used by the FBI to obtain FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign during the 2016 race.

Our friend, Margaret Menge, is mentioned in this article.
