We don't vet anything or anyone it seems

Two federal agencies gave taxpayer dollars to charities with ties to terrorism

Every American understands a fundamental bargain with their government: you earn the money, Washington spends it responsibly, and at bare minimum, not a single dime ends up in the hands of anyone who wants to destroy this country.

After September 11th, that bargain was reinforced with solemn promises. New vetting systems. Tighter oversight. A national commitment that federal agencies would never again let money slide toward organizations with connections to designated terrorist groups.

Those promises, it turns out, were hollow. This week, investigative reporting revealed that two major federal agencies have been doing something so breathtakingly reckless that every American who has ever written a check to the IRS deserves a direct explanation from the people responsible.

Fourteen organizations with documented terrorist affiliations and extremist ties collected nearly $80 million through refugee resettlement and health grants. The crown jewel of this spending spree? The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ California chapter, which pocketed a jaw-dropping $42.2 million to provide services to Afghan refugees.
  • The State Department and HHS directed roughly $2 billion to charities flagged for terrorist connections.
  • CAIR received $42.2 million from HHS despite documented Hamas ties and FBI blacklisting.
  • A mosque linked to 9/11 hijackers received $340,000 in taxpayer-funded federal sub-grants.
  • Eighty-seven percent of the HHS grants to these organizations were approved under Biden.
  • Direct financial support to Osama bin Laden

Two disgruntled Republicans holding up Todd Blanche's Nomination

Senate panel delays vote on Blanche's nomination as key Republicans withhold support

Todd Blanche's nomination to become attorney general stalled Wednesday as lawmakers scrapped a planned committee vote after key Republicans demanded more assurances about the settlement of President Donald Trump's lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche appears at his confirmation hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 15. During Blanche's tenure as acting Attorney General the Justice Department has been under scrutiny for pushing President Trump's 1.8 billion dollar "anti-weaponization" fund and its handling of the Epstein files.

Law Takeaways from Todd Blanche's confirmation hearing for attorney general:

The Senate Judiciary Committee had been expected to vote Thursday on whether to advance Blanche's nomination to the full chamber. But resistance from two Republican senators on the committee who could block Blanche's nomination threw his confirmation into doubt.

A spokesperson for the committee said in a statement Wednesday night that the vote would be postponed "as work continues to secure sufficient support." The delay came after hours of negotiations between the Justice Department and Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis over the controversial settlement that afforded Trump and members of his family protection from tax audits.

Republican Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina have thrown the confirmation of Attorney General nominee Todd Blanche into serious doubt by forcing a last-minute delay of a critical Senate Judiciary Committee vote. Why?

Because Cornyn was not endorsed by Trump and Tillis was called a "loser" by Trump, both senators are retiring and not returning to Congress next year. They are acting independently of party leadership to demand written guarantees from the Trump administration regarding a controversial Justice Department settlement.

Trump now may withdraw the Blanche nomination until Cornyn and Tillis are out of office.

$25 million hidden over 7 years

Supreme Court star Tom Goldstein sentenced to six years in prison for hiding millions in poker winnings from the IRS

A prominent Washington lawyer who argued more than 40 cases before the Supreme Court was handcuffed in a Maryland courtroom Friday after a federal judge sentenced him to six years in prison for tax evasion and financial fraud tied to a secret high-stakes gambling habit.

Thomas Goldstein, 56, stood before U.S. District Judge Lydia Griggsby in Greenbelt, Maryland, at the end of a day-long hearing and heard a sentence that caps one of the most dramatic falls in modern legal Washington.

The Democrat and co-founder of the widely read legal news site SCOTUSblog (I read this blog) had asked the court for leniency, his defense lawyers requested a term of supervised release that would let him "repay his debts, address his gambling addiction and contribute to society." Griggsby rejected that request outright.

Prosecutors had pushed for more than eight years. The judge split the difference but made clear she saw no ambiguity in the evidence. Reuters reported that Griggsby told the courtroom, "Every American understands that they have an obligation to pay taxes," and added bluntly: "I don't think this is a close case."

Anti-Weaponization Fund established for benefit of Americans

Trump settles $10 billion IRS lawsuit, secures apology and $1.776 billion fund for Americans targeted by government

President Trump dismissed his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS on Monday in exchange for a formal government apology and the creation of a $1.776 billion compensation fund open to any American who believes federal agencies were turned against them for political reasons, including, remarkably, Hunter Biden.

The settlement, reported by the New York Post, resolves a case Trump, his sons Don Jr. and Eric, and the Trump Organization filed on January 29 after the government failed to protect their confidential tax returns from being leaked to the New York Times in 2019.

In its place now stands the Justice Department Anti-Weaponization Fund, a board-governed mechanism designed to hear claims, issue apologies, and distribute monetary relief to people who were unfairly targeted by any administration.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the fund's formation Monday with a statement that left little ambiguity about the settlement's purpose.
"The machinery of government should never be weaponized against any American, and it is this Department's intention to make right the wrongs that were previously done while ensuring this never happens again."
Trump and his family receive no compensation from the fund. They get the apology. Everyone else, from January 6 defendants to political targets of prior administrations, gets a place in line.

The deal is not cost-free for the president. Monday's settlement requires Trump to withdraw claims related to the FBI's August 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago and the FBI investigation into alleged collusion between his 2016 campaign and the Russian government. Those are two of the most politically significant episodes of his first term, and they are now off the table as legal claims.

A spokesman for Trump's legal team framed the trade-off in characteristically forward-looking terms.
"President Trump is entering into this settlement squarely for the benefit of the American people, and he will continue his fight to hold those who wrong America and Americans accountable."
"The point of this isn't to make every January 6-er a millionaire. The point is to compensate, and to give entitled people back some of their dignity and some of what they lost, including money, whether it's for legal fees or other costs associated with what they went through."

Obama appointed Judge giving Trump some "static" about IRS suit

Judge signals trouble for Trump’s $10B lawsuit against the IRS

Court sets May hearing on whether president can sue the government he oversees

U.S. District Court Judge Kathleen Williams has asked Trump’s private attorneys and Justice Department lawyers representing the IRS to address whether his control over the government’s actions in the case means it’s the kind of dispute federal courts cannot consider.

“Although President Trump avers that he is bringing this lawsuit in his personal capacity, he is the sitting president and his named adversaries are entities whose decisions are subject to his direction,” Williams wrote in a four-page order. “It is unclear to this Court whether the Parties are sufficiently adverse to each other so as to satisfy [the Constitution’s] case or controversy requirement.”

Williams, a Miami-based appointee of former President Barack Obama, noted that Trump has personally acknowledged the novelty of the situation. Shortly after filing the suit in January, he agreed with a reporter that it was unusual to be on both sides of a lawsuit.

Trump & Trump Organization sues the IRS for $10billion

Trump Sues IRS for $10B Over Tax Leaks

President Donald Trump, his two eldest sons and his family business sued the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Treasury Department over alleged leaks of their confidential tax information, court records showed Thursday.

The plaintiffs seek at least $10 billion in damages, according to the lawsuit in Miami federal court. The case has been assigned to Judge Kathleen Williams, who was appointed to the U.S. district court bench by former President Barack Obama.

In August, Williams issued a temporary injunction that halted further expansion of the federal government’s Florida immigrant detention facility known as “Alligator Alcatraz,” effectively shutting it down. A federal appeals court later blocked Williams’ ruling.

The civil complaint filed Thursday alleges that the IRS and Treasury failed in their obligation to prevent the leak of those tax records by former IRS employee Charles “Chaz” Littlejohn in 2019 and 2020 who worked under Biden.

A spokesman for Trump’s legal team told CNBC in a statement, “The IRS wrongly allowed a rogue, politically-motivated employee to leak private and confidential information about President Trump, his family, and the Trump Organization to the New York Times, ProPublica and other left-wing news outlets, which was then illegally released to millions of people.”

The suit was filed three days after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said he had canceled all of his department’s contracts with the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton in connection with the company’s contractor, Littlejohn, stealing and leaking confidential tax returns.

Littlejohn, 40, is serving a five-year prison sentence after having pleaded guilty in October 2023 to one count of disclosure of tax return information.

Littlejohn’s acts were described by one federal prosecutor, as “one of the most serious crimes in the IRS’s history,” and the federal judge who sentenced Littlejohn described it as “an intolerable attack on our constitutional democracy.”

Another costly Biden program bites the dust

IRS Closes Down Free Direct File Service

A Treasury report found that 0.5 percent of 146 million tax returns for tax year 2024 were filed via the program.

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), the ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee, released a statement on Nov. 6 criticizing the IRS’s decision. He said the program should remain in effect for the 2026 filing season, which is slated to start in January 2026.

Direct File was rolled out as a pilot program in 2024 for the 2023 tax year after the IRS was tasked with looking into how to create a filing system under the Inflation Reduction Act that was signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022.

“I wrote the bill that created Direct File because the existing free options were insufficient and the big tax prep companies had been caught red-handed using deceptive practices to scam taxpayers into overpaying,” Wyden said.

“Direct File had low overall participation and relatively high costs and burdens on the federal government, compared to other free filing options,” the report stated.

It noted that less than 0.5 percent of all 146 million tax returns that were filed for tax year 2024 were submitted through the Direct File program, which cost the federal government about $41 million for that year.

IRS Chief Fired

Trump’s Hand-Picked IRS Chief, Billy Long, Lasted Just 7 Weeks Before Getting Fired, After 25,000 Employees Flee

In the private sector, a CEO who hires the wrong person for a critical role doesn’t hesitate to make a change. While bureaucratic Washington typically allows incompetent officials to drift along for years, collecting paychecks while agencies stumble through crisis after crisis, some leaders still believe in the radical concept of accountability.

The Internal Revenue Service has been hemorrhaging employees and credibility for months. Over 25,000 workers have departed this year alone—roughly a quarter of the agency’s workforce—while a parade of acting commissioners shuffled through the top office like seasonal temp workers.

I’ve watched this circus for decades, and frankly, for an agency tasked with implementing major tax legislation and serving millions of American taxpayers, this level of institutional chaos would be unacceptable in any well-run organization.

Most Washington insiders assumed this was simply the new normal: dysfunction dressed up as public service, with taxpayers footing the bill for the privilege. Ask yourself this—in what universe should Americans accept such mediocrity from their government?

Here’s what really gets me about this story: Trump actually acted. While previous administrations might have issued carefully worded statements about “renewed focus” or “additional training,” Trump simply removed Long from the position and nominated him as ambassador to Iceland instead

No drawn-out performance improvement plans, no months of bureaucratic hand-wringing—just swift recognition that the wrong person was in the wrong job.

Conservative Churches can give guidance on Electoral Politics

Conservative Churches Win Massive Concession In Court Case Against IRS

Churches can speak about candidates from the pulpit without risking their nonprofit status, the IRS said in a court filing on Monday.

The IRS reached the agreement to resolve a lawsuit brought by two Christian nonprofits, the National Religious Broadcasters and Intercessors for America, and two Texas churches.

Communicating with congregants about candidates is more like a “family discussion concerning candidates” than participating in a campaign or seeking to change the outcome of an election, the IRS said in a joint filing with the organizations.

Though the initial lawsuit challenged the constitutionality of the entire Johnson Amendment, which prevents churches and charities from participating in political campaign activity, the proposed consent decree would interpret the provision “so that it does not reach communications from a house of worship to its congregation in connection with religious services through its usual channels of communication on matters of faith.”

I guess Democrats will be unhappy with this as they abhor Christianity it seems.

Biggest data thief in our history might get clemency

Biden Considering Commuting Sentence of Trump Tax Leaker

Biggest Data Theft in American History

The Biden administration is formally considering commuting the sentence of the convicted felon who stole and leaked incoming President Trump’s tax records along with those of thousands of other taxpayers, in the biggest tax data heist in U.S. history.

A search of the Justice Department’s pardon database reveals Charles Edward Littlejohn — who just began his five-year sentence in May — has been assigned a clemency case number. It says a petition for “commutation of sentence” was recently sought and is “pending.”

A number of liberal watchdog groups, including Revolving Door Project and Patriotic Millionaires, have been lobbying President Biden to free Littlejohn from prison because they believe his leaks provided a “public service.” They argue he is a “selfless defender of tax fairness” for exposing how Trump and other wealthy Americans, including billionaires Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, Michael Bloomberg, and Jeff Bezos, take advantage of tax breaks to reduce their tax bills.

Littlejohn leaked the sensitive IRS data to the New York Times and the liberal news site ProPublica, which published them in a series of articles before and after the 2020 election.

Biden is capable of anything before he leaves office. He pardoned his corrupt son didn't he, thus basically pardoning himself.

IRS will get an Audit

Millions of taxpayers gleeful after Elon Musk promises IRS will be put under audit

Millions of Americans, maybe tens of millions, including many with first-hand encounters with the federal government's powerful and feared Internal Revenue Service, were expressing glee this week with confirmation that the IRS, itself the issuer of tens of millions of "audit" notices, will soon be put under audit.

"I cannot be more ecstatic!" said one social media commenter.

Another added, "I sure hope they saved their receipts for the last 3,000 years."

The word came from Elon Musk, one of the chiefs of the new plan by President-elect Donald Trump to clean up the government, tackle the "Deep State" agendas and expenses, cut costs, reduce waste and more.

Thousands of IRS and Government employees for years have not paid their taxes

IRS Agents Owe $1.5B in Unpaid Taxes

149,000 IRS Agents and Gov't Employees Willfully Evade Back Taxes!

“Next time someone whines about trump winning the election and his picks of people to clean the government, show them this video! I hope Vivek and Elon are watching right now. Chop, Chop, Chop Baby, Chop! -Brigitte Gabriel

Over 800 Internal Revenue Service employees still owe millions in back taxes despite heavy criticism from Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), who is hoping the level of tax waste will be squashed by billionaire Elon Musk, the newly tapped co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency.

In a letter to the Iowa senator sent on Nov. 8 and shared exclusively with the Washington Examiner, the IRS noted that of the 2,044 employees who reported having balances totaling more than $12 million, 860 employees still have not paid overdue taxes. Only 20 of the 70 employees who “willfully evaded” paying their taxes were removed.

“We haven’t seen a tax revolt like this since the Boston Tea Party,” Ernst said in a statement. “If hardworking Americans dodge taxes, they are faced with steep fines and imprisonment, but it appears that tax collectors in Washington believe those rules are for thee but not for me.”

Will Hunter be pardoned?

Hunter Biden’s Guilty Plea: Will Daddy Joe Pardon Him?

Hunter Biden has plead guilty to all nine federal tax charges he faced, including withholding over $1.4 million in taxes during the years he was wrapped up in addiction.

This admission came just before his trial was set to begin in Los Angeles, avoiding what could have been another national spectacle, like his gun charges trial earlier this year.

But let’s be real here—this situation is nothing short of a calculated move to set the stage for something bigger: a pardon from dear old dad, President Joe Biden.

Should we feel sorry for his addiction? Joe Biden has said Hunter is the smartest guy he knows.

Biden Lied, Big Time!

Democrats Turn their MASSIVE IRS Army on Middle Class Americans

After Promising to Go After “Only The Rich”

Well, don't people know by now that Democrats lie?

In 2022 the Democrats handed the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) an extra $80 billion to play with along with an army of more than 87,000 new “tax enforcement agents.”

At the time they claimed that they wouldn’t dare unleash this new supercharged IRS on regular old Middle Class Americans – but as it turns out, they lied!

In an attempt to make the effort to beef up the IRS more palatable at the time, leftist outlets like CNN and NPR claimed that the new agents would ONLY be sent after “the wealthiest Americans” such as those who were earning upwards of $400K yearly.

A recent audit of the agency revealed that the vast majority (63%) of all new IRS audit inquiries have been directed at middle-income earners who made less than $200,000.

O'Keefe Media Group exposes the IRS

O’Keefe Strikes Again – IRS Official Tells O’Keefe Media Group Reporter That the IRS uses AI to Spy on Americans’

Bank Accounts: Is It Constitutional? “I doubt it,” says IRS Official Alex Mena

This is quite ironic, as The Gateway Pundit recently reported that O’Keefe Media Group exposed the No Mas Muertes (No More Deaths) organization, a nonprofit and ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson, for smuggling illegal immigrants from the border in Arizona.

This 501(c)(3) organization holds a tax-exempt status for hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations, but the IRS is targeting innocent Americans! [GatewayPundit]

IRS official Alex Mena who works in “criminal investigations” says IRS ‘has no problem going after the small people, putting people in prison, and destroying people’s lives.’

Mena ‘doubts the constitutionality’ of his employer, the IRS, using AI to access everybody’s bank accounts nationwide. Mena recalls IRS agents stating “…the first person you shoot you’re gonna remember, but after that you’re gonna shoot like a hundred people, you’re not gonna remember any of them.”

He says IRS agents “are assholes...they are the definition of an asshole, all of them.”

This video was obtained by an O’Keefe Media citizen journalist who is a part of the American Swiper Program.

Corrupt IRS employee gets five years in Federal Prison

Ex IRS Contractor Who Leaked Trump's Tax Returns Receives Sentence

Charles Littlejohn, an ex-IRS contractor, just got hit with a five-year prison sentence. His crime? Leaking former President Trump's tax returns.

Also, he leaked the returns of hundreds of billionaires to the New York Times like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.

On Monday, Judge Ana Reyes didn't hold back. She blasted the leak as "an intolerable attack on our constitutional democracy." Littlejohn's not just facing jail time. He's got 36 months of supervised release and a $5,000 fine waiting for him too.

Judge Reyes had a point to make. "Democracy dies in darkness," she said. "But it also dies in lawlessness." She reminded everyone that Trump had no duty to show his returns. There were other legal ways to challenge him.

Biden's helping out Losers

IRS to Cancel $1 billion in Penalties for Unpaid Back Taxes

I guess this will help Hunter? Oh, that's right, the statute of limitations gets him off the hook on that.

On Tuesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) declared a major step to help individuals, businesses, and tax-exempt organizations that are indebted for taxes in 2020 and 2021.

The agency announced waiving $1 billion worth of penalty fees related to these back taxes. The IRS noted that roughly 4.7 million people were impacted by this failure-to-pay penalty relief.

This decision was made due to collection reminders being suspended during the COVID-19 lockdown period; although notices ceased, penalties for failing to pay continued accumulating.

The IRS noted that most relief recipients make under $400,000 annually. Right.

Hunter devised a plan to trick the IRS

Another Hunter Scandal Shows Possible Depth of Corruption

Hunter Biden, the smartest man Joe knows, did not merely receive income from several foreign interests, new reports reveal.

The president’s son also received massive “loans” from China and Burisma that were structured in ways to help him avoid paying income taxes on his influence-peddling scheme.

Former Hunter Biden associate and business partner Rob Walker told the FBI that the then-vice president’s son was receiving “thank you” loans he never had to pay back from foreign companies as a way to hide his true income.

Hunter was involved in Trump's Impeachment

Politico Report Reveals Interesting 2019 Tidbit regarding Hunter

Trump was impeached for allegedly withholding aid to Ukraine until they turned over the evidence that Joe Biden was involved in Shokin’s firing.

In the summer of 2019, Hunter Biden got sober and started working to make amends with the IRS. But he faced an unusual complication: He was at the center of Trump’s first impeachment. The slide deck cites an email one of Hunter Biden’s advisers sent him on Jan. 26, 2020, saying they would need several hours to go through questions and find documents as they tried to settle his tax bill.

“I have a meeting tomorrow with impeachment lawyers for the day,” Biden replied. “It will have to wait until Tuesday I’m afraid.”

Oh really? Do you remember hearing about this?

And this curious fact: Hunter was involved in the Trump impeachment over Ukraine. In the summer of 2019, he tells an adviser he has an all-day meeting “with impeachment lawyers”. After 5 years, he still has not been interviewed by Weiss’ team or testified before the grand jury. pic.twitter.com/yVK7Az8DsQ— Miranda Devine (@mirandadevine) August 20, 2023
