Man killed, woman hurt in Lake Worth Beach shooting

WFLX: "The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) is investigating a double shooting and homicide in Lake Worth Beach.

Just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, deputies were called to the 1700 block of Tropical Drive in Lake Worth Beach.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found a man and woman with gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

PBSO said the suspect and motive remain unknown at this time.

Man arrested after alleged attempt to drown fiancée in Lake Worth Beach motel pool

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — An Ormond Beach man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to drown his fiancée at a Lake Worth Beach motel, following a confrontation about infidelity.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) reported that deputies were called to the Capri Motel in Lake Worth Beach following reports of a possible drowning on Saturday at 4:58 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies reported finding two men standing outside the pool area, including Drew Williams.

According to the probable cause affidavit, when deputies questioned Williams, 45, about a possible drowning, he denied any knowledge and claimed he didn't know the victim's whereabouts.

However, a search of the property led deputies to Williams's fiancée, who they said appeared highly emotional and claimed that he had tried to kill her.

PBSO has arrested Williams and he faces attempted homicide and domestic battery.

PBSO Investigates Triple Tragedy: Double Homicide, Near-Drowning Death, and Shooting in Lake Worth Beach

Lake Worth Beach, FL – April 13, 2025 — Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) detectives are actively investigating three separate incidents that occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Lake Worth Beach area. The day saw a tragic drowning, a non-fatal shooting, and a double homicide, all reported within a span of less than two hours.

1.  1:38 PM – Shooting on S. Dixie Hwy
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of S. Dixie Highway. Upon arrival, they located a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive, according to the latest update from PBSO. A person of interest has been identified. Authorities confirmed there is no current threat to the public.

2.  2:09 PM – Near-Drowning Turns Fatal at Lake Worth Beach
A near-drowning incident involving three juveniles occurred in the 3000 block of S. Ocean Blvd, where the swimmers were caught in a strong riptide. Lifeguards and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) provided immediate CPR before all three were rushed to area hospitals.

Tragically, 17-year-old Oliver Vasquez-Perez, born March 8, 2008, was pronounced deceased at Bethesda Hospital East. The two other juveniles, ages 12 and 17, were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where they remain conscious, alert, and in stable condition.

3.  3:00 PM – Double Homicide on Nokomis Ave
Later that afternoon, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 3700 block of Nokomis Avenue, where they discovered two adult males deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

The suspect, identified as Erasmo Perazaledesma, 64, of Lake Worth Beach, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. Upon medical clearance, he was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.

Perazaledesma now faces two counts of First Degree Premeditated Murder and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He is being held without bond and will appear for his first hearing today.

According to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office (WPEC), a body was discovered inside a vehicle parked at the Lake Worth Tri-Rail Station last Sunday during a missing persons investigation.

They are turning their tragedy into action. This week, many gathered in front of PBSO’s station in Lake Worth Beach, in a form of protest, because they feel more can be done to avoid similar tragedies.

Days before her death, deputies responded to a domestic-related call at their house. She decided to stay which was f fatal mistake.

According to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, a body was discovered inside a vehicle parked at the Lake Worth Tri-Rail Station Sunday October 22, 2023 during a missing person’s investigation. Family members identified the victim as Eulalia Castellon. They said the car belongs to her husband, Jose, who they believe has since fled the country.

“The overall message, uniformly, from men and women, was speak up, seek help, talk to other people, don’t let this sit too long,” Lake Worth Beach Vice Mayor Christopher McVoy, said. “It’s very important that law enforcement make sure they hear and are fully conscious of what is the perception in the community.”

On Friday June 24, 2022, at approximately 2:38 am, in the 2100 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue, a 72-year-old male victim was attacked by four Black male and three Black female teen offenders.
