Top salaries being paid for Oil Tanker Crew

Trump Told Oil Tankers to Show Guts and the Shipping Industry Had a Different Answer

Sinokor Offered Six Months Extra Pay for One Trip Through Hormuz. Sinokor Group runs the largest fleet of supertankers on earth.

The company started offering crews six months of extra salary for a single round trip, roughly a month long, from Saudi Arabia or Iraq through the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Oman. A junior sailor on one of these ships normally pulls in around $1,500 a month.

Sinokor just put six times that on the table for thirty days in a war zone. Other shipping firms are tacking on sixty days of extra salary to standard thirty-day contracts, and New York Post Business reported sailors are being offered as much as $25,000 a trip just to move oil out of the Gulf.

Captain Pradeep Chawla, who chairs the maritime labor group GlobalMET, said the bonuses are working. "They are being offered huge bonuses by some companies," Chawla said, adding that plenty of crew members are walking off ships rattled by the attacks, but owners keep finding replacements willing to go.

That is the going rate for courage these days in the Persian Gulf. While shipowners were writing six-figure bonus checks, Trump went on Fox News and told tanker crews the threat was basically finished.
"These ships should go through the Strait of Hormuz and show some guts, there's nothing to be afraid of," Trump told Brian Kilmeade on Fox & Friends.

Border Patrol is offering up to $10,000 as a hiring bonus

Border Patrol offering $10K hiring bonus to new agents amid low morale, migrant crisis

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas this year said that morale was 'struggling' among agents.

No kidding, Secretary Mayorkas!

According to a notice put out on Monday, new agents will be given a $5,000 "recruitment incentive" after finishing the academy. Agents who are assigned to areas in Texas and Arizona deemed "hard-to-fill" locations will get an extra $5,000 on top of that. The development was first reported by The Washington Examiner.

Border Patrol agents have been on the front lines of a migrant crisis that has been nonstop since the beginning of the Biden administration. There have been more than 200,000 migrant encounters each month since March, and there have been more than 500,000 "gotaways" since the beginning of the fiscal year in October.
