Florida Concealed Carry Law

On Monday April 3, 2023, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 543 into law. This bill, strengthening the second amendment, eliminates the requirement that an individual obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm in Florida.

Beginning July 1, 2023 permitless concealed carry for lawfully owned weapons will become legal.

Following the bill’s passage Florida joins Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansa, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming as the 26th state to enact a permitless concealed carry law. With Florida’s new bill a majority of states now have a permitless concealed carry law.

Democrats are acting like this is some sort of rogue law that will allow criminals to conceal carry. Nearly three million Floridians over 21 have active licenses earned by completing a safety training course, and meeting a host of other eligibility requirements.

Those requirements, like not being a felon, still apply.

Florida Concealed Carry

Newsom Taunts DeSantis: ‘Scared to Death’ of Public Over ‘Extreme’ FL Gun Law

"On Friday, California Governor Gavin Newsom reminded us all that the lump three feet above his butt is not much more than a hat rack when it comes to using common sense.

Former White House press secretary turned MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki appeared on 'Andrea Mitchell Reports' on Friday and previewed her recent interview with the governor, which aired on her show 'Inside' on Sunday." [realfreedomtalk]

During the clip, Newsom taunted Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his position on the Second Amendment and constitutional carry...says "no background checks."

So the facts of the matter (Newsom always lies) Florida does not require a permit to purchase a firearm nor is there a permit that exempts any person from the background check requirement. Existing state and federal laws, including requirements for background checks for gun purchases, still apply.

There is a waiting period of three days, excluding weekends and state holidays, between purchase and delivery of all firearms. Individual counties and cities have the authority to enact local ordinances extending the waiting period to as much as five days.

Senate Concealed Carry bill

GOP Senators Introduce BRILLIANT National Concealed Carry Legislation

The introduction of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act by Sens. John Kennedy, Bill Hagerty, and John Cornyn on Wednesday is a major victory for Second Amendment supporters across the nation.

This groundbreaking legislation makes a permit from any one state valid in all other 49 states, helping to uphold the fundamental right of responsible gun owners to bear arms while still allowing each state to regulate its own laws regarding the use of firearms.

By recognizing concealed carry permits like driver’s licenses, this bill will make it possible for firearm owners to travel between states without having to worry about conflicting or confusing laws surrounding their permit rights.

States coming through with Conceal Carry in spite of Biden

Half Of All United States Will Have Constitutional Carry To Start 2023

It is going to be a huge year for the Second Amendment, folks.

Even as we have President Joe Biden referring to the idea of buying semi-automatic weapons as “sick” and lacking any “social redeeming value” and trying to curb our 2A rights a little bit at a time, more and more individual states are starting to realize that the most immediate answer to a bad guy with a gun is actually a good guy with a gun.

Now, finally, we’re going to see half of the states in the U.S. recognize constitutional carry as law.

No fewer than 25 states will recognize that a responsibly-armed citizen doesn’t need government arbitration to carry a concealed handgun as of Jan. 1, 2023, according to USCCA.

2A Protects ‘Individual’s Right’ to Carry for Self-Defense

*Triggered* Joe Biden, Justice Department Release Statements on Supreme Court Overturning New York’s Century-Old Law on Concealed Weapons

The US Supreme Court on Thursday struck down New York’s century-old law on carrying concealed weapons.

Prior to the Supreme Court’s Thursday ruling, the state could decide who it wanted to have this right and who it didn’t.

Justice Clarence Thomas wrote New York’s law on concealed carry permits “violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms in public.”

Biden said he was very disappointed and New York City Mayor Eric Adams told New Yorkers, “Nothing changes today… It ignores the presence (sp) and it endangers our future.”

Supreme Court Rejects Appeal on Concealed Weapons carry

The U.S. Supreme Court has once again ruled against the Second Amendment by refusing to loosen restrictions on carrying a gun in public.

SCOTUS rejected an appeal that was made by gun-rights advocates in California that would’ve allowed folks to carry a concealed weapon without needing to show a special reason for doing so.
According to Bloomberg, Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch said the high court should have heard the case.

Florida Concealed Weapons Holders database hacked

By: Associated Press
May 23, 2017

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Officials say hackers may have obtained the names of more than 16,000 people who have Florida concealed weapon permits

The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced Monday they had discovered a data breach of the online payment system that processes payments for applications and permits.
Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam has ordered a review of the department's cybersecurity measures. State law enforcement is investigating the breach, which authorities suspect originated from overseas.

The agency stated that no financial information was obtained.

The department also warned that the breach may have revealed the social security numbers of 469 customers. The agency plans on offering free credit protection for one year to these individuals.

The Florida Legislature in 2006 passed a law that made the names of concealed weapon permit holders confidential.

Damn, I'd better load this thing.
