But a State Guardsman from Florida just made the media pay instantly for this big lie about the hurricane.

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida but the worst damage from the storm was in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. A record amount of rainfall created historic flooding in the region which left entire towns under water, and simply wiped out others.

Despite the devastation in his own state, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was able to quickly stabilize things after Helene hit. He then launched Operation Blue Ridge to send personnel from Florida state agencies to assist with search and rescue missions and disaster relief in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

Guardsman Jonathan Howard of the unit was working on aerial rescues. He reported that everything coming out of the mainstream media about North Carolina was a lie.

“I had my team up here working as well. Here’s the problem,” Howard said. “I’m going to tell you everything that’s happening from the ground, what I’m actually seeing, because what they’re telling you is complete bulls**t on the news and these politicians don’t have a f**king clue and they’re lying.”

Hurricane Milton barreled into the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday after plowing across Florida as a Category 3 storm, pounding cities with ferocious winds and rain, whipping up a barrage of tornadoes and causing an unknown numbers of deaths.

It compounded the misery wrought by Helene while sparing Tampa a direct hit.

We, in Lake Worth Beach, lucked out again as we were only on the cusp of the cone and weather forecasts predicted wind gusts of only 50 to 60 mph for LWB. We lost power a few times during the night for a short period of time. Thank you Lake Worth Utilities.

Proactively Preparing for the Effects of Hurricane Milton is the City of Lake Worth Beach's Top Priority

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Florida – The City of Lake Worth Beach is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents and employees in anticipation of storm effects from Hurricane Milton which will be making landfall on the west coast of Florida this week. City departments are implementing a series of actions aimed at mitigating the potential impacts of the severe weather.

As a safety measure for employees, the City of Lake Worth Beach will be closing their public offices, facilities and library on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10. All City meetings and programing have been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. The City expects to resume normal business hours on Friday, October 11.

The Lake Worth Beach Solid Waste and Recycling Division will temporarily suspend the collection of yard waste piles and garbage on Thursday, October 10, and remind residents not to place yard waste, tree trimmings or garbage on curbs as they can block drains which leads to flooding. The City anticipates resuming regularly scheduled service on Friday, October 11.

Residents can also download the Recycle Coach app to receive notifications regarding schedule changes.

The Water Utilities Department has been working overtime to conduct extra cleaning and clearing of storm drains in preparation for potential heavy rainfall. All lift stations are being continuously monitored remotely for power outages. Water Utilities crews will be on 24-hour coverage and are equipped with portable pumps and generators to ensure uninterrupted wastewater service.

Additionally, Electric Utilities crews will work diligently through the storm to make repairs and restore services to customers as conditions allow. The Utility Customer Service walk-in location at 120 North Federal Highway will be closed to the public throughout the storm. Utility Customer Service phone banks will remain in service as usual throughout the storm and customers are reminded that our electric outage management system will alert us electronically to service interruptions even if you don’t call us. If you’re experiencing an emergency such as life safety event or crime, please call 911.

Customers can also make reports of electric outages, wires down and damaged poles on-line using the following link - https://outage.lakeworthbeachfl.gov. Staff in the control room receives these reports at all times of the day and night within a few minutes and will prioritize the dispatching of crews to make repairs as conditions allow. Major electric outage locations will be updated periodically on the City website’s electric outage map -- https://wov.lakeworthbeachfl.gov.

As a precaution against anticipated high winds and heavy swells, the City closed the pier on Monday, October 7. City staff will evaluate any potential damage once the inclement weather has passed and will reopen the pier as soon as it is safe to do so.

In addition, the City is closing their beach and Casino Complex on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10, out of an abundance of caution in preparation for the effects of rain and wind from Hurricane Milton. All businesses and parking lots at the beach will be closed, and no lifeguards will be on duty.

City athletic facilities and fields along with the Lake Worth Beach Golf Course closed Monday, October 7, and will remain closed until after the storm has passed and the parks have been inspected to ensure the fields and golf course are free of debris and safe to use.

"We take these precautions to mitigate issues and ensuring the safety of our community before, during and after a storm," said Interim City Manager, Jamie Brown. "Residents should stay informed and take necessary precautions as the weather approaches."

As a reminder to residents, the City is currently under a Flood Watch through Thursday, October 10, which means conditions are favorable for flooding with the amount of anticipated rain. Residents should avoid areas knowns to flood and do not drive through flooded roadways.

The Transportation Department posted a video of Buttigieg's comments, adding, "Drone pilots: Do not fly your drone near or around rescue and recovery efforts for Hurricane Helene. Interfering with emergency response operations impacts search and rescue operations on the ground."

During a Wednesday press briefing, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that the federal government lacks the funds to fully respond to such disasters, Blaze News previously reported.

"We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting another hurricane hitting. We do not have the funds," Mayorkas remarked.

Special session on property insurance and property taxes coming after election

We are all worried about the expected premium increase on our property insurance. It has always been high in Florida.

One of our buildings just budgeted $25,000 for insurance 2023. This is an 18 unit building. I will definitely have to assess more next year when the premiums come in. It's all ridiculous as we never have a claim but we must have it by Florida Condo Law.

The comments from DeSantis are stemming from the fact that Biden previously had not taken time to speak with the governor before the hurricane made landfall despite making more than enough time to speak with numerous mayors along the state’s coast. Biden finally ended up speaking to DeSantis before the storm slammed into the state, but only after being the target of some fairly extreme criticism for appearing to put politics over people.

I mean, what I told him is that the media was making a big deal that he wasn’t talking to me or whatever, and I told him, I was like, ‘Look, I want to work together for these people. Because these people are from all walks of life. Republicans, Democrats, they expect us to be able to put our differences aside,’” stated DeSantis. “And nobody has done more to stand up to this administration than me in Florida over the last year and a half, as you know.”

NOAA recently released a study with similar conclusions, saying “it is premature to conclude with high confidence that human-caused increases in greenhouse gases” have impacted hurricane activity in the Atlantic.

On October fifth, Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared W. Perdue announced the early completion of emergency road and bridge repairs to Pine Island.

On Sunday, DeSantis ordered Perdue to work with Lee county to expedite the repairs and to finish by Saturday, October eighth. The crews worked hard to complete the repairs under such ambitious timing and overperformed. The bridge was built in just three days.
