Federal law enforcement is getting a major upgrade in protective equipment.

The FBI just made a smart investment in agent safety by awarding one contract that will have criminal elements nervous. The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently announced a significant equipment upgrade that puts agent safety first.

Galvion, a New Hampshire-based defense contractor, secured a lucrative five-year deal worth up to $10 million to supply the FBI with their cutting-edge Hellbender Federal Edition ballistic helmets.

According to the company’s announcement, the contract covers multiple Justice Department agencies including the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, and U.S. Marshals Service.

That means this equipment upgrade will benefit hundreds of federal agents who put their lives on the line every day. These aren’t your typical police helmets – they incorporate technology originally developed for U.S. Marine Corps special operations.

Lake Worth is getting an Asphalt Roller

Perhaps in anticipation of the general obligation bond passing, staff wants to purchase a new Volvo DD25B Double Drum Asphalt Roller and Trail King TK12U 12 Ton Utility Trailer to be used on city streets.  The money to pay for it will come from the general fund. They are using the Florida Sheriffs Association contract. This universal trailer will also be utilized for Stormwater equipment and functions; hence funding the trailer equipment from the Stormwater fund and thus securing a better price.

The cost will be $48,500 with a 5 year warranty.
