Brendan Carr Called Disney’s Bluff on The View and Its FCC Licenses May Not Survive
ABC begged its own viewers last month to help save The View from federal regulators.The FCC's answer arrived this week and it was not the one Disney wanted.
Brendan Carr's agency just moved against Disney in a way that could end more than one show.
The Federal Communications Commission is preparing to rule that The View is not a bona fide news program – a decision that would strip Disney's flagship gabfest of a 20 year old legal shield.
That shield is the only thing standing between Whoopi Goldberg's table and the FCC's equal time rule.
Lose it, and every time a Democrat candidate sits at that table, ABC has to hand identical airtime to the Republican running against them.
