Omar and her Brother

Report: Obama Admin Uncovered Evidence Against Omar's Marriage

Federal investigators found evidence during the Obama administration suggesting that Rep. Ilhan Omar's 2009 marriage to a man suspected of being her brother was intended to help him obtain a green card, but the case stalled chiefly because prosecutors concluded the suspected offense fell outside a five-year statute of limitations, according to a new report.

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security investigated the marriage in the summer of 2016, current and former officials told The New York Times in a report published Thursday.

The officials' account challenges Omar's characterization of the earlier inquiry as having debunked allegations that she married her brother to help him obtain a green card.

The newspaper said it remains unclear what evidence investigators had establishing that Omar and her former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, are siblings. Marrying a person to help them obtain a green card is illegal under federal law, while marrying a sibling is illegal under state law.

However, the newspaper noted that it remains unclear whether federal prosecutors could pursue charges against Omar despite the statute of limitations for marriage-based immigration fraud.

Six current and former officials familiar with the 2016 investigation told the Times that agents found evidence suggesting Omar and Elmi were siblings. The officials said investigators had limited tools to develop the case because prosecutors did not pursue it.

Omar has repeatedly denied the allegations about her and her ex-husband.

Trump Trolls Ilhan with phone meme

Trump Trolls Ilhan Omar With ‘Scam Likely’ Meme as Dispute Over Her Name Escalates

President Trump used a mocking phone-call meme to target Rep. Ilhan Omar on Saturday, according to The Gateway Pundit. The post came as the report described an escalating fight over Omar’s name and background, along with an ongoing federal criminal investigation.

The investigation moved into focus after a recent court filing by the DC US Attorney’s Office. According to the report, the filing referred to the congresswoman in search warrants as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.” The warrants involved her home and property, while the filing stated that they had not been fully executed.

The report then cited sources familiar with the investigation who alleged that “Ilhan Omar” was a fake alias used to obtain citizenship in the year 2000, live in the country illegally, and run for office. Those claims were presented as part of the continuing investigation and political dispute.

A former Minnesota federal immigration judge also said the allegations could “call into question” every document Omar had filled out under the name Ilhan Omar.

The article also quoted US Attorney Jeanine Pirro, who reportedly confirmed the name at issue on Thursday. Pirro said, “Her real name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi. You had it absolutely right.” She added, “Her sister is Sahra Nur Said Elmi, and her sister actually wrote a book and talked about the fact that Ilhan is her sister. So that is her name.”

Homeland Security secured Ilhan's DNA

Federal agents pulled DNA from Ilhan Omar’s trash before raiding her D.C. home

Federal investigators collected garbage from Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington home seeking her DNA before a raid tied to alleged immigration fraud that could put her citizenship at risk.

Agents with the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations unit executed a search warrant at the congresswoman’s D.C. residence last week, seizing her cellphone after a federal judge signed off on the entry.

Breitbart News reported that investigators had already gone through trash outside the home in an effort to secure DNA evidence for an immigration-related fraud case centered on whether Omar or her father lied about her age on her naturalization application.

The DNA step was not a side show. Multiple sources told NewsNation the genetic material was critical to the probe, which has widened beyond Omar herself and now reaches family members named in federal subpoenas.

Evidence from the search and the DNA collection is expected to go before a grand jury, according to those same accounts.

Where's Ilhan?

The lady vanishes: Ilhan Omar disappears after agents conduct a search on her home

When agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) searched Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s DC residence last Monday, October 12, she was at home. Afterwards, she sent out some angry tweets in response to the raid, but she hasn’t been seen since that day.

She’s in a presumably safe blue district, but still, it’s not often that a candidate for re-election disappears at the height of a political campaign. (Come to think of it, there was Texas Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate James Talarico, who also disappeared entirely from the race and later said he’d had “the flu.” Different story entirely...)

Last week, reporters who’d been staked out on her street did see her current husband out walking the dog, and he made the seemingly-calculated point of telling them that Omar had arrived in this country at age 12.

Of course, we all know by now that by the time her father obtained citizenship --- if he did indeed obtain citizenship (news outlets have been trying in vain to find records regarding that) --- she was either a minor child of 17 or an adult woman of 18.

The only way she could have legally derived American citizenship from her father’s naturalization was if she was still a minor child at that time. If there exists a Somali birth certificate that could settle this mystery; Omar has never produced it.

The New York Times reports that investigators have subpoenaed about a dozen people, including Omar’s relatives. We’re still not sure where Omar herself is, but her personal phone, passport and computer were seized.

Obama Defends Ilhan

Obama defends Ilhan Omar after federal probes, sparks ‘spare me’ backlash

Former President Barack Obama rushed to the defense of Rep. Ilhan Omar after a federal raid tied to immigration and finance probes, and conservatives immediately told him to spare the lecture.

On Sunday, Obama published a lengthy online post backing the Minnesota Democrat as investigators scrutinized her immigration history and financial disclosures. The message, which Fox News reported had drawn more than 5 million views, cast the probes as selective targeting by the Trump administration and insisted the full weight of the federal government was being used to intimidate a sitting lawmaker.

Federal agents had already searched Omar’s Washington, D.C., home the prior week. The congresswoman faces two open federal inquiries, one examining whether she or her father committed fraud on immigration paperwork when she became a U.S. citizen decades ago, and another focused on her financial disclosures.

Obama framed the matter as an assault on democratic norms. Conservatives answered with a blunt reminder of his own record on investigations, IRS scrutiny of political opponents, and the Russia collusion saga.

The White House rejected the weaponization charge and said the Justice Department is restoring law and order.

"I want all my stuff returned"

Ilhan Omar Demands Her Passport Back, Accuses Trump Of Political Revenge

Rep. Ilhan Omar is demanding federal prosecutors return her passport, computers and other belongings seized during a search of her Washington home — while accusing the Trump administration of using a criminal investigation to punish a political opponent.

Attorneys for the Minnesota Democrat sent the Justice Department a letter Friday challenging the search and demanding the immediate return of all property taken by investigators, The Daily Wire reported.

Agents with Homeland Security Investigations searched Omar’s residence Monday, October 12, under a warrant approved by a federal judge. Items seized included her cellphone, notebooks, personal computers and passport, according to The Wall Street Journal, as cited by the Daily Wire.

Omar said:
“Trump and his administration have been after me since I arrived in Congress. I have always stood up to him and that will never change.

The pedophile protector will never silence me.”
The Justice Department has disputed the accusation that investigators acted improperly.

Dumpster Diving at O'mar's

Federal agents hunted Ilhan Omar’s DNA in the trash before the D.C. home raid

Federal agents allegedly dug through Rep. Ilhan Omar’s trash for DNA days before searching her Washington home, as sources say the immigration case runs deeper than many realize.

Investigators conducted the "dumpster diving" effort to extract genetic material as part of an expanded federal probe into the family's 1995 immigration history and potential identity or public benefits fraud.

Homeland Security Investigations agents searched the Minnesota Democrat’s Washington, D.C., home on Monday and walked out with her cellphone, notebooks, personal computers, and passport. Inside sources later described a quieter step that came first: agents going through her garbage in hopes of collecting DNA from Omar and her family.

Daily Mail reporting on those accounts ties the trash search to a wider immigration-fraud probe now coordinated by Homeland Security Investigations’ Minneapolis office, ICE’s investigative arm, and says the DNA was treated as critical evidence.

The raids landed just three weeks before her re-election bid. Sources also described more than a dozen other searches unfolding at the same time.

Ilhan born in 1981 or 1982?

Ilhan Omar Staff Changed Her Birth Year In 2019 Amid Citizenship Fraud Investigation, Emails Show

There’s a particular reflex in Washington that kicks in when uncomfortable facts start surfacing. The instinct isn’t to clarify. It isn’t to sit down and produce documentation. It’s to make the problem quietly vanish – update a database here, revise an entry there, scrub a Wikipedia page while you’re at it. Hope nobody screenshots the before and after.

American citizenship is the most valuable legal status on the planet. Millions of immigrants spend years navigating the system honestly, dotting every i, because they understand the gravity of what they’re seeking.

So when serious questions emerge about whether a sitting member of Congress may have obtained that citizenship under false pretenses – and the response is to alter official records rather than answer the questions – every single American who played by the rules deserves to know what’s going on.

From the Daily Wire:
Staffers for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) reportedly assisted her in changing her birth date on official records shortly after she began her first term in the U.S. House, according to a New York Post report.

Omar’s year of birth – which was changed in 2019 from 1981 to 1982 – is reportedly relevant to the current investigation into the congresswoman because of her account of when and how she obtained U.S. citizenship.
Take a moment with that. A congresswoman’s own staff reached out to an official state library and asked them to change her birth year – not a typo in a middle name, not a wrong district number – her year of birth. And they didn’t stop there.

"I will not be silenced," says Ilhan Omar

Omar fires five-word warning at Trump after DHS search of her D.C. home

Rep. Ilhan Omar answered a pre-dawn Homeland Security search of her Washington home with a five-word warning to President Trump, casting a multi-year immigration probe as political intimidation while agents carried out boxes.

Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a search warrant at the Minnesota Democrat’s Northeast Washington residence early Monday morning, and neighbors later saw them removing boxes of materials from the property.

A neighbor described loud banging around 4 or 5 a.m. and a man screaming for the door to be opened. Omar, 44, soon took to X to say she was unharmed and to frame the action as the latest strike in what she called a long campaign against her. The five words she directed at the president were plain: “I will not be silenced.”

The New York Post reported that sources familiar with the law enforcement action said the congresswoman is the subject of a multi-year probe tied to her immigration history. Those sources indicated the inquiry may stem from her father making a false statement on paperwork.

Omar’s first message mixed reassurance with accusation.
“I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement,”

she wrote on X. She continued in the same vein:

“For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.”

She added the personal line aimed at the president: “I will not be silenced.”

A 3,500 percent spike, then a cliff

Ilhan Omar's financial disclosures now claim her husband earned as little as $200

one year after reporting up to $30 million in assets

Rep. Ilhan Omar's newly released 2025 financial disclosure tells a story that defies easy belief: her husband Tim Mynett, a 44-year-old Washington operative who just a year earlier sat atop a reported fortune of up to $30 million, now earned as little as $200 from all his business ventures combined.

The couple's net worth, per the filing, has plunged into negative territory, somewhere between negative $80,000 and negative $95,000.

The New York Post reported that Mynett's venture capital firm, Rose Lake Capital, generated zero income for him in the 2025 disclosure period. His California wine business, eStCru, which sold bottles including one called "The Devil's Lie", brought in between $200 and $1,000 before going belly up in April.

The couple's total assets now sit between $20,000 and $125,000, weighed down by $30,000 to $100,000 in credit card and student-loan debt.

That is quite a fall for a sitting congresswoman whose 2024 disclosure reported a sudden wealth surge to between $5 million and $30 million, a figure that itself arrived out of nowhere and raised immediate red flags.

The financial whiplash is worth tracing in full. As Just The News reported, Omar's net worth at the end of 2023 stood at roughly $51,000 or less. By the end of 2024, her disclosure showed it had rocketed to between $6 million and $30 million, a 3,500 percent increase in a single year. The growth was driven almost entirely by Mynett's stake in Rose Lake Capital, which jumped from less than $1,000 in assets to between $5 million and $25 million.

In February 2025, Omar herself pushed back on the millionaire label. She posted on X that claims of her wealth were "categorically false" and "ridiculous," and challenged followers to check her public financial statements. "Maybe try checking my public financial statements and you will see I barely have thousands let alone millions," she wrote.

Then came the amended 2024 disclosure, filed in March. Omar slashed the reported asset figures dramatically, listing household assets between $18,004 and $95,000. Mynett's ownership stakes in both Rose Lake Capital and eStCru were zeroed out.

Omar's office attributed the original eye-popping numbers to an "accounting error."

Lawsuit against Omar's husbands' Badlands Ventures

Federal anti-terror agency allegedly froze funds tied to Ilhan Omar's husband during Biden years

Tim Mynett, the husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.), saw investment funds from a marijuana venture allegedly frozen by the Treasury Department's anti-terrorism enforcement arm in 2022, a previously unreported episode that adds another layer to a sprawling pattern of failed businesses, investor lawsuits, and financial mysteries now drawing scrutiny from Congress and federal prosecutors alike.

The claim comes from Mynett's longtime business partner, Will Hailer, who told investors in August 2022 that the Office of Foreign Assets Control had placed a hold on funds they were demanding back from Badlands Ventures, a marijuana investment vehicle the two men co-founded.

OFAC, housed within the Treasury Department's Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, administers economic sanctions against foreign terrorists and hostile regimes. It does not typically concern itself with domestic marijuana startups.

The Washington Free Beacon reported Thursday that it was unable to independently confirm whether OFAC ever placed a hold on any known business entity associated with Mynett and Hailer. The Treasury Department did not return requests for comment.

But investors found Hailer's explanation baffling at the time, and the trail of financial wreckage that followed has only deepened their suspicions.

Angel investors who put $1.683 million into Badlands Ventures sued Hailer when their money didn't come back. Court filings allege that Mynett and Hailer "moved at least some, and perhaps all, of Plaintiffs' $1.683 million out of Badlands Ventures' bank account for purposes other than Badlands Ventures' business."

The lawsuit went further, claiming the pair formed Badlands "with the present intention of stealing and/or misappropriating" investor money.

From $30 Million to $95,000 After Congress Came Knocking

Top Oversight Official Puts Felony Question in Play Over Ilhan Omar’s Finances

Ilhan Omar spent years lecturing Americans about greed, corruption, and the rigged system protecting the powerful.

Now her own financial records are under federal scrutiny.

What Comer found in her amended disclosure is what's putting her in serious legal jeopardy. The facts are not in dispute.

Omar's 2024 congressional financial disclosure listed her and husband Tim Mynett with assets between $6 million and $30 million.

After the Office of Congressional Conduct requested additional information earlier this year, Omar filed an amended disclosure. The new number: between $18,004 and $95,000.

Twenty-nine million dollars – gone. Accounting error, her office said.

Ilhan Omar attempting to recruit former Republicans against the War

Ilhan Omar reaches out to Marjorie Taylor Greene as former Trump allies break ranks

Representative Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota Democrat, said Tuesday that former allies of President Donald Trump who have spoken out against the war with Iran deserve credit, and singled out former Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and right-wing influencer Candace Owens by name.

Omar made the remarks in an interview with Pod Save America co-host Tommy Vietor, calling on Americans across the political spectrum to work together against what she described as a presidency in crisis.

The overture is striking on its face. Greene was among the GOP members who pushed to oust Omar from her House seat just last year. Now Omar says she wants to embrace Greene and others who have, in her words, "gotten off the sycophantic train."

What this really amounts to is a familiar left-wing play: find a disaffected Republican, hold her up as proof that the right is fracturing, and use the moment to press a progressive narrative.

Omar isn't extending an olive branch out of genuine bipartisan goodwill. She's leveraging Greene's public break with Trump to advance her own political argument, and doing so on a progressive podcast, not in a committee room or on the House floor.

In the meantime,tThe U.S. and Iran are reported to be "very close" to a deal. A key breakthrough includes a tentative agreement for Tehran to transfer its stockpile of enriched uranium—which Trump referred to as "nuclear dust"—to international control.

Ilhan and Immigration Fraud

Vance declares White House will pursue Ilhan Omar over alleged immigration fraud

Vice President J.D. Vance said Friday that the White House "definitely" believes Rep. Ilhan Omar committed immigration fraud and that administration officials are actively working to determine how to build a legal case against the Minnesota Democrat.

The remarks, made on "The Benny Johnson Show," mark the most direct public statement yet from a sitting vice president on allegations that have trailed Omar for years.

Vance told Johnson he had recently spoken with White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller about the matter and that the two are exploring what legal remedies exist.

The comments arrived the same day the vice president's new anti-fraud task force convened for the first time, a body specifically charged with cracking down on social-services fraud across the country, with a particular focus on Minnesota.

The vice president did not announce a specific legal action or filing. But the language he used left little room for ambiguity about the administration's intentions, as the Daily Caller reported.

Ilhan's Conflict of Interest

A New Report Ties Ilhan Omar to a $33 Million Clinic Her Sister Ran When She Secured State Funding for It

Ilhan Omar just directed millions of taxpayer dollars to a health clinic while her sister was running it.

Now a new Breitbart investigation has connected that clinic to a web of family members, foreign governments, and a supposed ex-husband Omar swore under oath she couldn't locate.

The one question Democrats don't want anyone asking is why she claimed to have no conflict of interest.

Omar's Sister Was CEO When the State Money Arrived. Omar's older sister, Sahra Noor, served as CEO of People's Center Clinics & Services in Minneapolis from July 2014 through April 2018 – a nonprofit in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood that has collected $33 million in HHS grants since 2002.

In January 2017, Omar took her seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives. That same year, the state capital budget included $2.2 million for People's Center.

Omar later boasted publicly about securing that funding and celebrated the clinic's 2022 renovations alongside Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, and other Minnesota Democrats.

Ilhan complains about cost of protecting us from Iranian nuclear weapons

'NOW she's concerned?' Ilhan Omar smoked after complaining about Iran war costs

Commenter to congresswoman: 'We can take it out of the Somali Learing Center fraud budget'

A radical member of Congress, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has been embroiled in a long list of scandals in recent months and years.

Charges the Somali immigrant married her brother to give him legal status in the U.S. A sudden surge in her wealth – by millions of dollars. Her promise to advocate for Somalia in the U.S. Congress, the vicious language she uses for political critics, the rampant immigration scofflaw population in her district, the estimated $9 billion in social services fraud in that community.

Oh yes, the $9 billion social services fraud that is suspected in her Somali immigrant-majority Minnesota district. Already, dozens of people have been charged, and convicted.

On social media, she was reminded of that over and over after she complained about the costs of using munitions and American warfighting machinery to make sure Iran doesn't threaten again the world with its agenda for nuclear weapons.

Carville gives Alt-Left Democrats a harsh reality check

"Quit F---ing Around": Carville’s Direct Message To Far-Left Democrats

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville issued a blistering reality check to Representative Ilhan Omar this week, labeling her rhetoric against White males as "stupid" and "insanity."

Appearing on SiriusXM’s "Straight Shooter with Stephen A.," Carville slammed the Minnesota congresswoman for alienating a massive segment of the American electorate. He argued that the progressive wing's habit of attacking specific demographic groups is a path to political suicide for the Democratic Party.

Carville relied on cold, hard numbers to make his case, noting that White voters made up roughly 72% of the electorate in 2024. By his calculations, White males represent about 33% of the total voting population. "Well, it's stupid to attack 33% of the voters!" Carville told host Stephen A. Smith, adding that trying to win national elections without them is "literally mathematical insanity, cultural insanity."

James Carville doubled down in an interview with Stephen A. Smith on calling for Ilhan Omar to leave the Democratic Party over her comments on white men: "It's stupid to attack 33% of the voters!"

For Carville, the solution is simple: quit focusing on "cultural stuff" and start respecting the math of the American voter.

Intgelligence Committee wants Investigation of Ilhan Omar

Rep. Burchett pushes House Intelligence Committee to obtain Ilhan Omar's immigration records

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) has written the House Intelligence Committee seeking to obtain immigration records for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), pressing what he says is a straightforward question about whether the congresswoman is lawfully present in the United States.

Burchett told The Post this week that the Intelligence panel has appropriate jurisdiction to get the records. The committee has yet to respond to his request, which began last month.
"Let's get to the bottom of everything. I want to know if she's here legally. If she's not, then we need to take appropriate action."
He is not the only Republican pulling on this thread. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has moved to have the House Oversight Committee subpoena the immigration records of Omar and her two ex-husbands, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.

Meanwhile, House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has launched his own probe into Omar's disclosed wealth, which showed sudden growth in businesses tied to her third husband, Minnesota political operative Tim Mynett.

Oversight Committee Investigating Omar's husband

Comer Demands Business Records From Ilhan Omar's Husband Amid Questions Over Wealth Surge

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is demanding business records tied to Rep. Ilhan Omar's husband, Tim Mynett, zeroing in on two companies whose reported value exploded from as little as $15,001 to as much as $30 million in a single year.

The Kentucky Republican's letter targets documents and communications related to eStCru LLC and Rose Lake Capital — firms in which Mynett holds stakes — and suggests the records may reveal people "buying access."

Neither Omar nor Mynett responded to press requests for comment. Their spokespeople stayed silent.

The request could serve as the opening act before a subpoena forces delivery of the documents. And if the numbers on those financial disclosures are even half-accurate, the questions Comer is asking deserve answers.
