Garcia, who has been accused of being an MS-13 gang member as well as a repeat wife beater, has been fighting a legal battle against the Trump administration since he was deported to El Salvador in March and then subsequently returned to America.

Trump Signs Order Declaring TikTok Sale Meets US Requirements

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday declaring that his plan to sell TikTok's U.S. operations to U.S. and global investors will meet the requirements in a 2024 law that says the short video app will be banned unless its Chinese owners sell it.

Trump has delayed enforcement of the law until December 16 amid efforts to extract TikTok's U.S. assets from the global platform, line up American investors and win approval from the Chinese government.

The proposed divestiture resolves the national security concerns and complies with the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (Act) by removing TikTok in the United States from China’s control.

The divestiture puts the operation of the algorithm, code, and content moderation decisions under the control of the new joint venture.

The divestiture prohibits the storage of sensitive U.S. user data in a manner that would allow such data to be under the control of a foreign adversary. All U.S. user data will be stored in a trusted, secure, and purpose-built cloud environment in the United States run by Oracle.

The divestiture includes intense monitoring of software updates, the algorithm, and data flows, and it requires all recommendation models, including algorithms, that use U.S. user data to be retrained and monitored by America’s trusted security partners. This ensures U.S. content is free from improper manipulation.

TikTok Lives: US, China Reach Deal

Beijing has said the US spin-off of TikTok to be sold to American investors in a deal orchestrated by President Donald Trump will use parent company ByteDance’s Chinese algorithm.

Wang Jingtao, deputy head of China’s powerful cyber security regulator, on Monday said US and Chinese officials had agreed a framework that included “licensing the algorithm and other intellectual property rights”.

He said ByteDance would “entrust the operation of TikTok’s US user data and content security”, without elaborating.

TikTok’s powerful recommendation algorithm has been at the heart of a geopolitical tug of war over the short-video app since the first Trump administration, when Beijing unveiled export controls on algorithms to thwart a forced sale of the app.

The artificial intelligence algorithm underpins the app’s prized ability to serve up addictive videos tailored to individual users, but has also raised fears among national security hawks that it could be manipulated to push Chinese propaganda or polarising material to users.

US officials have insisted any deal must ensure TikTok’s recommendation algorithm is fully severed from ByteDance, warning continued co-operation could allow Beijing to maintain influence over the content seen by Americans.

Viral TikTok Video Warning of Communist Influence Is Censored in Malaysia

The former foreign minister accused a nonprofit of promoting communism, which is illegal in Malaysia

A video on the TikTok platform with content warning about Chinese communist influence in Malaysia has been censored for viewers in the Southeast Asian country.

Malaysia-based users of the China-owned video platform reported they were unable to access the video, which had gone viral, of a March 25 press conference by former Foreign Minister Rais Yatim announcing he filed a police report alleging communist activity by a Malaysian nonprofit organization.

The Epoch Times confirmed reports by Malaysians who discovered that while the video of Yatim’s comments was not accessible in the country, it was visible through a VPN connection or with IP addresses outside of Malaysia.

Yatim, in a seven-minute video statement, said that he had lodged a police report against the Malaysian One China Peaceful Unification Promotion Association, raising concerns about the group promoting communist ideology in Malaysia through its activities, which is illegal. Communism is explicitly prohibited in Malaysia, where it is considered a threat to its national security and sovereignty.

Trump Extends TikTok Deadline for Another 75 Days

China retaliated on Friday to Trump’s sweeping 54 percent tariffs with its own 34 percent tariffs on all U.S. goods.

Trump made the announcement in a Friday post on his social media platform Truth Social.

“My Administration has been working very hard on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we have made tremendous progress,” Trump wrote. “The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days.”

The president said he would continue working in “good faith” with China, which has responded to his 54 percent total tariff on its imports into the United States with retaliatory 34 percent tariffs on all U.S. goods imported into China.

Trump said on Thursday that he could potentially use his tariffs as a bargaining chip to get the Chinese regime to approve the sale of TikTok’s U.S.-based operations from its parent company, ByteDance, which several U.S. officials have warned has ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

The Trump administration has to achieve two goals: to ensure that the app can’t be used to spy on American citizens and that it remains open for those who use it for commerce.

Reports are now breaking that Vice President JD Vance is working with an investor group to purchase the app.

If the deal does not go through by April 5, TikTok could be banned in the United States.

If the deal is officially announced, the belief is that the Trump administration will then extend the deadline to allow all the pieces to be put in place to make the changeover.

If, however, China does not divest, come April 5, all those influencers using TikTok in this country are going to go dark.

A TikTok post inciting violence against Elon Musk provoked a swift response from Acting United States Attorney Ed Martin of the District of Columbia. The post, showcased in a video, features a woman openly advocating for the assassination of Tesla CEO and White House Senior Advisor Elon Musk.

In the video, the woman, who used the username “sarahcroberts” before her account was deleted, admitted, “I promised myself I would avoid the news. But obviously, I haven’t. Here’s my one thought – I have many thoughts – Elon Musk,” before making a throat-cutting gesture.

She then brazenly continued, “Like when you do X him, and by X, I mean formally mean assassination and it’s a warning from the FBI is going to fucking show up, I don’t… arrest me,” she taunted. “You don’t have enough people to even investigate me at this point. Despite Donald Trump's previous statements against the use of TikTok in America because of national security concerns, the president-elect appears to be changing his stance.

According to the New York Post, Trump is going straight to the Supreme Court and asking the justices to delay any prospective implementation of a law that would ban TikTok in the U.S.

Currently, the law is scheduled to take effect on Jan. 19, 2025, just one day before Trump is sworn in as the 47th president of the United States of America.

Trump wants a ruling on the legality of the implementation of the law delayed at least until he takes office.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has expressed concerns regarding evidence indicating that China is actively trying to influence and potentially meddle in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.

This development contradicts assurances from Chinese President Xi Jinping that his country would not partake in such actions.

Blinken highlighted these worries in an interview with CNN, citing evidence collected by the United States as reported by the Daily Mail.

“We have seen, generally speaking, evidence of attempts to influence and arguably interfere, and we want to make sure that that’s cut off as quickly as possible,” Blinken said.

In 2022, the Biden administration established a formal partnership between TikTok and the Federal Voting Assistance Program, an agency aiding overseas voters in U.S. elections. So, I guess the app is not going their way for 2024.

Asked whether he believes TikTok is a national security threat during an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” Monday morning, Trump said, “I do believe that.”

“I do believe it and we have to very much admit we are protecting American people’s privacy and data rights,” he said.

“There’s a lot of good and there’s a lot of bad with TikTok. But the thing I don’t like is that without TikTok, you can make Facebook bigger and I consider Facebook to be an enemy of the people along with a lot of the media," he said. “If you ban TikTok, Facebook and others, but mostly Facebook, will be a big beneficiary,” he added, arguing Facebook has been “very bad for the country” especially in terms of elections.

I personally deleted my TikTok account when the news first came out that China was collecting personal data on all users. Facebook is till the best social media out there but they censor anyone who disagrees with their progressive politics.

Jesse Watters interviewed Graham on Wednesday night’s episode of “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Fox News, and the media personality interviewed Graham after raising civil liberty concerns regarding the RESTRICT Act’s potential for locking up political opponents based on wrongthink.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson earlier this week said that the RESTRICT Act gives the federal government unprecedented power to surveil and arrest American citizens, Valiant News reported.

“This bill would give enormous and terrifying new powers to the federal government to punish American citizens and regulate how they communicate with one another,” Carlson said.

Senate passes RESTRICT ACT

Biden Admin Backs Bipartisan Bill That Allows U.S. to Battle Foreign Threats Including Popular Social Media App

On Tuesday afternoon, the administration of President Joe Biden announced its backing for a bipartisan bill proposed by a group of senators. The proposed legislation would enable the United States to prohibit TikTok and take measures against other foreign adversaries.

A group of 12 bipartisan senators, led by Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA), who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and Sen. John Thune (R-SD), who is the ranking member of the Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Communications, Media and Broadband, have introduced the RESTRICT Act. This bill aims to limit the emergence of security threats that pose a risk to information and communications technology.

Under the proposed legislation, the Department of Commerce would be granted the authority to examine, stop, and lessen the potential hazards to the United States' economic and national security caused by information communications and technology (ICT) transactions.

The U.S. made up the largest base of TikTok users as of April 2022, with some 136.5 million Americans engaging with the app. India actually banned TikTok altogether—along with more than 50 other Chinese-owned apps back in 2020—with an Indian government spokesperson saying the sites were outlawed because "they are engaged in activities which [are] prejudicial to [the] sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of state and public order."
