We ARE a Sanctuary City - Don't kid yourself

In the Palm Beach Post today was an article on Sanctuary Cities wherein everyone in authority denies that we are a Sanctuary City or a Sanctuary County.  When you have a PBSO that is less than cooperative with the federal government in this regard, then we have a big problem.

Thanks to Ric Bradshaw, not only is Lake Worth a Sanctuary City but the  entire county of Palm Beach was named one and officially added to the  list on October 15, 2015. Source: 10-8-14 DHS DDO Report. Sanctuary Cities.

Back in June 2014, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said he will no longer hold illegal aliens in the county jail if they are arrested for shoplifting (this offense happens all of the time in Lake Worth--lock up everything Publix) or driving without a driver's license. He says that  he will release them immediately unless ICE goes before a magistrate. If they are arrested for a felony, that will be an exception. Bradshaw created this Sanctuary city status.

Read Bradshaw's statement back in 2014

ICE has to go before a judge before getting the criminal illegal released to them otherwise he won't hold them?  Bradshaw's policy opened up the floodgates for more and more illegals to drive without a license and commit petit theft. Don't we have enough crap in our city?

We have a big problem in Palm Beach County when elected officials and our own PBSO believe the government is forcing us to obey the law or when Commissioner Amoroso insinuates that it is a racial thing against brown people or those who don't speak English.

Lake Worth is a Sanctuary City

Lake Worth is a Sanctuary City right along with 30 other cities across the country. How in the heck did this happen in our country?  All of Palm Beach County under Public Safety with the PBSO, is a Sanctuary area as well because Ric Bradshaw will not call ICE when they encounter an illegal committing a crime. Why aren't the laws of this country enforced? Well, we know why and we need to make America Great Again!

Dear Sen. Bill Nelson (D FL):
Dear Sen. Marco Rubio (R FL):
Dear Rep. Lois Frankel (FL-22):

After families who have had relatives killed by illegal immigrants spoke at the RNC convention it is clear that illegal immigrants are committing more crimes and being prosecuted and deported less!

If an illegal immigrant commits a crime - they should be arrested and promptly deported! They should not be released or allowed to continue hurting Americans!

As my representative I demand that you investigate "Sanctuary Cities" and prosecute those that are not enforcing American laws!

Sincerely,

Ms. Lynn Anderson

On Sanctuary Cities

Comment Up

“Sanctuary policies undermine justice and the rule of law. They jeopardize public safety and have a burdensome financial toll on government. Sanctuary policies encourage further illegal immigration, undermine anti-terrorism efforts, and promote an underground economy that sabotages the tax base. They also waste much-needed public resources as they force the federal government to find and arrest deportable criminals already taken into custody by local law enforcement.”

~ Jeff Landry, Louisiana's Attorney General

Bradshaw has said that PBSO has limited its cooperation with the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) when it demands they detain an immigrant. Taking over 60% of the county's budget, Ric Bradshaw is up for re-election on November 8.

Lake Worth, A Sanctuary City?

Lake Worth is listed as a Sanctuary City although the city administration (Mike Bornstein) responded to my inquiry on this last month and said that there has never been a Resolution claiming that status. More and more illegal aliens live in Lake Worth and PBSO won't stop any of them unless they are committing a crime or there is a warrant for their arrest.

Even if we don't give benefits to these illegals who reside here nor do we get any money from the federal government, we are still on the list naming Lake Worth as a city that gives sanctuary to illegal aliens. Lake Worth's population is now at 39.5% Hispanic and many of these people are illegal and speak no English. They have committed a crime by walking into our country undocumented.

We now need to go forward and have a written policy and a Resolution that we are NOT a Sanctuary City. Then the city needs to e-mail OJJPAC (Sanctuary Cities PAC) at salvi@ojjpac.org stating that our city is NOT a Sanctuary City and get it removed from the list. Otherwise, we will continue to be known as a city that opens up its arms to illegals. This spreads rapidly in countries south of our border.

U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions, one of the strongest advocates for immigration law enforcement in the U.S. Congress, has introduced Senate Bill 1640 (S. 1640) to address Sanctuary Cities.  Senator Sessions' bill also gives states and local governments the authority to enforce immigration laws. It is named the  Davis-Oliver Act, after two law enforcement officers who where murdered by illegal aliens in California.  Congressman Trey Gowdy has introduced a companion bill in the U.S. House (H.R. 1148).
