Zeldin Clashes With DeLauro Over EPA

A House hearing on the EPA budget turned into a loud, ugly exchange on Monday when Administrator Lee Zeldin pushed back against Rep. Rosa DeLauro over climate policy and the agency’s legal authority.

The fight came down to one basic question: how far can the EPA go when Congress has not clearly given it that power?

Zeldin was on Capitol Hill to testify about President Trump’s 2027 budget request, which would cut the EPA’s budget sharply if Congress approves it. DeLauro came out swinging, accusing him of ignoring Americans and making excuses for polluters. Zeldin answered with a simple point: he said he was following the law, not freelancing from the agency chair.

He pointed to Section 202 of the Clean Air Act and argued that it does not give the EPA a blank check to run the country’s climate agenda. That quickly turned the exchange from a budget hearing into a full-blown showdown.

Purple Haired Dem Loses It in Shouting Match Over ATF Cuts!

In a heated exchange during a House Appropriations Committee hearing, Connecticut Democrat Rep. Rosa DeLauro repeatedly shouted down Attorney General Pam Bondi, demanding answers about proposed budget cuts to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and its planned merger with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Rather than allowing Bondi to explain the Trump administration’s commonsense reforms, DeLauro resorted to hysterical interruptions—a tactic the liberal media conveniently ignored in their coverage.

DeLauro, known for her theatrics, falsely claimed that a 26% budget reduction to the ATF and a 4.4% cut to the DEA would cripple law enforcement’s ability to combat gun trafficking.

Bondi, a seasoned prosecutor, calmly explained that merging the two agencies would increase efficiency by focusing resources where they’re needed most—on the streets, targeting criminals rather than harassing law-abiding gun owners.

“ATF agents will not be knocking on the doors of legal gun owners in the middle of the night asking them about their guns,” Bondi stated. “They are going to be out on the streets working hand in hand with DEA.”
